THIS IS **NOT** A "SONG" !!! is a SYMPHONIC POEM! why people classify EVERYTHING, from a medioeval organaum to a dodecaphonic string quartet as "song"??
@astolfo56 Oh yeah, thanks for giving me a name to the type of symphony I like. I do not know musical people in that context (of music being the common ground), so I never hear formats or names.
@Zepikness Wait you got a point! I make a mistake! The song "Also sprach Zarathustra" was composed in 1896 by Richard Strauss. And thanks for you comment!
You know, when I was little, I used to think this was actually the theme for 'Star Wars.' My little brain thought their themes sounded exactly alike. *shrug* Of course I know better now.
this movie had such astonishing everything ! from score to acting to cinematography to editing to sound and most importantly it delivers one of the most beautiful images i've ever seen on film
This isn't by Alex North. It's "Also Sprach Zarathustra," by Richard Strauss. None of the music North wrote was used in the final version of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Kubrick had become too fond of the placeholder music to replace it.
most epic song ever!

This isn't a song, it's a composition or, more specifically, a tone poem. And it was composed in 1896.
