@Jake45499 pistons aren't any bigger than a 200... 2.5 is same bore and stroke across the board... however, porting is radically different and heads are higher compression... and alot of other stuff that is different than a stock 2.5 200

I would love to own a boat like that. For those who do not know the 2.5's are merc's racing offshore engines. I believe there warranty is limited to something like a month and they run much higher RPM's than the standard merc. Around 7500 with 280 horse a piece.

2.5's came in many different variations. the 2.5 280"offshores" had an 8250 rev limit, which is much higher than the standerd consumer model 2.5 280's, which I believe is 7700 approx. the consumer 2.5 280's had a year warranty, but the offshores i believe didnt have any warranty at all... I could be wrong

There's always the occassional glitch but all in all, the customer's have been happy. As the salesman I would hear about a problem I'd sold first.
