I remember going to see them play at the Cactus Club and Gaslighters... Man, SJ Local music scene kicked ass back then!! They would play will all these mini tv's on stage awesome-o
They started a new band called Beta State and are still auditioning for singers. which is dumb imo. They need to try and find someone more close to them and stop with this process that's been going on forever.
I think Eric was afraid of the band getting too big. I talked to him a month before he left the band. He's real shy, a bit reserved. Or he just didn't like the musical direction they were going in. who knows.
My ex-girlfriend literally lived right across the street from where these dudes practiced as Downside and somewhat as Strata. The Bassist lived there and needless to say I heard them practice several times and saw them live at the Cactus Club in downtown San Jose when it was still open (long time ago). Good memories.
ive always wondered whether it was the band or eric who influenced "the end of the world" to be as different as it was from their self titled album. while STRATA was more hard and heavy, The End of the World was soft and very different musically. i liked STRATA much more than End of the World. i guess well see when Strata puts out their new album.
im probably much too late but as much as i love Strata (wetting my pants in anticipation) id like to follow the singer as well. what band did he go to?
Eric, the singer made a new band because he didn't think Strata was going where he wanted to go ( I think that's right ). The band is called The Limousines
Ending song is "i will breath fire", and does anyone know the new singers name? i looked a thier myspace and they had a song they wanted people to sing, and send it to them.
I know you posted this a while ago, but I would really like to know where you managed to find a copy. I find their old stuff infinitely better than "Cocaine(We're all going to Hell)".
This is my favorite song. Ever ! I discovered it years ago and I stil like this voice, these words...
Strata was a great band who didn't have time enough to know it. It's sad. But thank's to let "sleep" in the music history...

They're gonna have a tough time finding as good a singer as before. His voice was soo unique. Why did he quit??
LachozaTube 3 years ago
Its a bit late to reply to you LachozaTube, but I figured I would in case you hadn't found out yet.
As far as I have gathered, he didn't see Strata going where he wanted to go musically, so he left to make his own band.
