The clock should have stopped when the ball hit the ground, but since the clock hit zero, the game was technically over. And once the game is over and the clock strikes zero, no play id allowed to be reviewed. Nebraska should have won.

It's a complete joke that Texas claims a national championship for the 1970 seaon after getting throttled by Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl while Nebraska won their bowl game. The fact that Nebraska, a cold, dull flyover state whose total population is far less than the Houston metroplex, has actually 2 more real national championships than big ol' Texas actually proves a great deal. A lot of the 'tradition' spoken of for Texas came at the hands of a perennially weak and corrupt SWC. GBR

@koby2011 Besides, our championships were won by Academic All-Americans. We have the most in the country. By far. Texas can't TOUCH that. Nebraska also has nearly the best graduation rate among student athletes year in and year out.

After the Texas- enforced rules were in play in '96, Nebraska was STILL playing for a National Title in '01, 6 seasons later. As I've said, Pedersen and Callahan were the reasons for Nebraska's problems in '04, '05 was a patsie schedule, '06 was horrible at the end, and '07 was the worst season in 60 years. I think Bo is the right guy, and he's right. Big Red is back, and we're here to stay.

As far as steroids go, they were very prevalent at all major programs in the eighties, including Texas. I'm sure Nebraska had it's share of abusers.
