This is my favorite first class configuration by any airline (even better than Singapore) because of the 'see and be seen' openess to the cabin rather than dividing it up like cubicle offices!
@sofouda It's the openess and lack of partition walls that I like. Besides the service, AA does a good job at this as well with swivel seats and very low partitions...I once had an opportunity to fly 14hrs with my dad captaining in one of those seats, and yes it gets very boring after 5hrs...DFW-NRT-DFW 2 1/2 days!
I still find it hard to understand why people who want to fly comfortably actually pay for a restarant and a spa ON THE GROUND. When travelling, I don't have time to get a massage.
Working in the airline industry myself (not AF) , I fly a lot for business and pleasure also with a lot of other airlines. For me nothing beats the elegance and chic of the colleagues from Air France. Merci beaucoup Air France.
I really wish US carriers were this amazing. America is the greatest nation on earth, this should include the cars we drive as well as the airlines that are baed in the US. And just out of curiosity, do the flight attendants take their jackets off while serving passenger so they cna be more comfotable and relaxed? On other airlines this is common. With Air France, I always see them serving people with their jackets on. Pleas respong. Thanks.
@Lufthansa631 I fly a lot on Air France , but to be honest , i don't see them take off their jackets very often. They take them off for long haul flights like CDG to Houston , but when i take Marseille To Paris , they always well dressed
Makes you want to take the flight just for that experience! Flying is nice but not always as enjoyable as it used to be. This shows that "class" and "style" still exist, albeit at a price. I usually go economy tho. I have flown biz/first as well. Im not a snob or anything. It just looks so comfortable and "civilized" :)...
I always fly with Air France and although I've been a business customer of theirs for many years, next month, for the first time, I'll be flying first class with them. I cannot wait to experience this!
The way first-class flight attendants are always smiling at you and making sure you're comfortable unsettles me a little bit. Not that I've flown first-class that many times (only once, actually - Lufthansa), but I found them a little TOO obsequious. The fact that you are in a superior hierarchical position is made so evident that I cannot help but feel uncomfortable. It's like they treated me so well that I felt uncomfortably indebted to them. Anyway, I'm not used to luxury.
@SuzaneVonRichthofen If you are so "uncomfortable" why don't you fly coach? or better try any American carriers and even in 1st class you'll feel like you are in cracker barrel.
mid 16th century: from French sarcasme, or via late Latin from late Greek sarkasmos, from Greek sarkazein 'tear flesh', in late Greek 'gnash the teeth, speak bitterly' (from sarx, sark- 'flesh')
@petrhsr Yes, this blows United and American out of the water in every way, BUT this is FIRST, while American and United only have BUSINESS. Although I'm sure Air France business is still better than American and United.
@TheUberPlayboy - Nope, AA has First class on it's international 777 fleet. UA has First class on it's 747 fleet, and it's international-configured 777 and 767 fleets.
Have a look on seatguru.com if you don't believe me.
@petrhsr hmmm. I've only seen pictures of their "first" which I just assumed was business cause it ain't that great. Now that I've seen business class it is even worse. Oh well!
