no darkomegasonic. the usual visualboyadvance emu does NOT have "link" and e-reader support, so it will never work in it. only no$gba emu has both.

Yeah! Please help! I accidentally pushed a wrong button and it allowed me to have one ereader screen and one sma4 at the time. And then I couldn't switch focus between the 2 gameboys(i can control only one!)! That is so stupid!

Yeah, you need the bios file in order to run certain games on No$GBA, including SMA4: SMB3. Once you have one, be sure to rename it as gba.rom and place it in the No$GBA folder. (Where the program is.)

I have the gba.rom BIOS file for NO$GBA as I found one after doing a Google search. Send me a PM if you need the file. And you need to be using version 2.4f or higher of NO$GBA [2.6 version recommended] in order to use it.

I finally managed to work this out...

The no$gba official webpage talks sais that e-Reader bios is necessary...

Surprise!

They are talking about the e-reader ROM. ¬¬

And for all of you who have problems with no$gba crashing or closing (without any notice), the only thing you have to do is use a "working" gba bios.

Just rename the file to "gba.rom" and place it in the same folder where no$gba.exe is.

For some of you, it might work without using the gba bios but it is not guaranteed.

no$gba changelog says that you need the e-Reader bios file to be able to emulate e-Reader.

With the proper GBA BIOS, does it play like in this video? I can get everything to run perfect, except the graphics are messed up in the intro screen and in a few other parts of the game. =/ It's either my BIOS version or the version of SMA4/SMB3 I'm running. =/

There is a "VBA-Link-E-Reader" out there, but the linking doesn't work right in Super Mario Advance 4, and I don't think that particular version of the emulator is being maintained anymore anyway.

I almost got this to work (got the BIOS file, anyway). But I can't get the E-Reader rom to recognize the save file. I gave them the same name, tried all the plausible extensions (.sav, .sv2, .sa1, .sa2), but the Access Saved Data option never appears on either screen. I also can't get different games to load on each screen, even though I have "1st machine" enabled every time I load a rom. Any rom loading I do after setting Game Boys to 2 causes both screens to reset to the new rom. Any ideas?

VBA can't link to the e-reader to scan cards for sma4.

But you can still play normal e-reader games with it tough.

i load sma4 J or E or US they all freeze when i go in the normal sm3 [no e-land] you click A or start, it shot down

so now i have the rom of J sma4, & J e-reader, i can get the card in it .raw

what i want to do it have all the switch on , and 3 of all (powerup cards without the lame mushroom) in the e-land and in the normal {mario & luigi sm3}

so i need to get a 64kb or 128kb .sav so i could play it with vba

You need No$ gba, And some games, and the E-reader USA rom.

Just load The E-reader Rom, And klick Fie/Load E-reader Dotcode.

Now you can play the E-reader game by choosing "acces saved data"
