I don't know much about film and don't know about any film influences here. What I can tell you is that I'm very familiar with the poem and I think this is a wonderful interpretation. A job very well done.

very slickly done, love the editing,
i havent read the love song so i did not understand a lot of things,but i loved the graphic nature of the film,
a lot of mundane things were shot amazingly...!
i wish it wasnt SO underexposed though :-) haha.
and also, the only lighting used,was on camera,i would have loved to see some cool lighting patterns in such a noir like movie..!
but great job,you have to teach me more about film editing man,which software did you use,lets start with that..!
