  • 3:17 im not sure but it looks like thats while u wait for the rom to download and we're talking the 1990s i was a kid back then internet was 56k satelite being much slower due to it having to grab a signal so this must have been slower than 56k but the standard wait time for downloading a FULL SNES GAME on 56k is anywhere from 5min-15min. Satellite games were not as big in file size since they were not (always) entire games...

btw all this is avail on the web for emulators BS FZERO is awesome!

  • This would have been great on the Wii... or something similar.

  • awesome remix of the super mario bros overworld theme at 0:25

  • no destuto

  • From 8:10... is this the "Original" sample music used in the first nes game? :o

    Nothing beats the original songs.

  • Nintendo need to re-release this, and Earthbound

  • 2:25 that background is soooo Earthbound

  • did that narration really happen when people played the game on there? if so, that must'a been quite an experience for players.

  • @TheOffensiveuser Yes but only when they played it during the alloted time period otherwise no narration, must have been pretty cool to hear someone say "it's dangerous to go alone, TAKE THIS!"

  • So... why do a couple screens look mysteriously like Earthbound/Mother in this?

  • bull shit zelda

  • ... I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?! T-T

  • @100PurpleCoins Broadcast Satellaview

  • i don't get it...is it a game?

    このビデオは何ですか?

  • @ser89ers ゲームだよ

  • Excelent video of BS :D

I want a remake of The Legend Of Zelda 1 for DS or 3DS \^o^/. It could use PH engine

  • SMB THEME IN THE HUB BACKGROUND

  • Where did you get this video from? Do you have a copy of the ROM of this? Because this looks like a VERY GOOD and ACCURATE dump of the game! Please send me a copy of the ROM to this email address:

    videogamer555 (at) gmail (dot) com

  • @BenHutchinson1

No,this is recored on VHS and original SNES console because there is no download screen for emulator from 2:26 to 4:01 and later parts.

Satellaview is a form of SNES attachment then,it uses satellite to receive games and download it.(Mostly stored in dedication cartridge roms that you set on SNES.)

    The most important part it--

It only worked in Japan from 1995/4/23 ~ 2000/6/30

To get this game, you have to Google it

Or find a saved cartridge rom on the Internet with original SNES

  • The BS zeldas were great but they were way too easy. I love the original zelda artwork. It used to look so grim and dark in comparison to the new art.

  • Damn why in the world does this had to stop... Someone should pay St.GiGa so they could air again^^ Even if it is just the same old stuff every month again!

  • This is just amazing! You could download and play games even if you didnt have internet! How awesome is that?! I DEMAND A REMAKE

  • This robot building with the blinkly eyes kinda creeps me out! <3

  • to labelfree904: BS zelda 1 is translated but not satellaveiw there is also a time hack that bipases the time limit

  • How fucking long do you have to take??? This is ridiculous

  • if u hate BS u hate LOZ1 and if u hate LOZ1 u hate pie , AND IF U HATE PIE I HATE U >:C

  • @reggiardito

    No

  • Why does us Americans have to miss out on SO much? Japan gets everything cool. :(

  • I doubt that even if we all made enough noise about this Nintendo would release anything similar or release the games for the Virtual Console & or Wiiware.

  • 3:20- Looks like an EarthBound background.

  • Wow its great to see videos of things like this, for game lovers like myself. Its a Rare chance to see things we would otherwise never have the chance to see. So a big thank you to you and all who post rare video's of lost treasures like this.

It just shows how ahead of its time satellaview & Nintendo were, and so were sega with Sega channel. Just think we are raving about downloadable games and content with the lastest machines when others were enjoying it years before!

  • Learn Japanese

  • no! translate! NOW!

  • BS ZELDA IS AWESOME On Another Subject...

Dont You Just Hate It When You tube freezes

  • 7:32 Zelda sounds cute x3

  • I would very much have liked this game.

  • These long load times are not for the impatient. Thanks so much for the upload though!

  • Somebody has some live Satellaview recordings? AMAZING! Thanks so much for the upload, this was a real treat!

  • do they have this in a a english version......... i dont understand a word

  • course not, it was only on the sattellaview

  • I can understand some of it (as i'm taking Japanese). But not enough to translate (to soemone else).

  • where can i downloasd this rom

  • a modified version exists but not this broadcast version...

  • Sure would have liked to play this Zelda. Hopefully they'll make a game similar to Link to the Past for the DS or virtual console. Like a top down Zelda with this game as a bonus unlockable or perhaps a DS version of this for Club Nintendo.

  • es muy weno este juego =)

  • means Broadcast Satellaview.

  • φορτωσε γαμω τη μανα σου......

  • I'd probably die waiting that long for a level to load...

  • hehe great vid but i couldn't understand you guys

  • 1995, and an online gaming shop existed. This is crazy!

  • You can't play with other people, the online service is for downloading games, and it's free.

    (from Wikipedia)

  • Awesome man thx alot for uploading this.

  • it seems like I don't use enough crack to understand this nonsense of a game lol

  • what the hell kinda zelda's this??LA LA LAND????

  • uhhh the very first one.

  • i has a feeling mr. itoi was involved in this

  • who?

  • the voice of the dude after entering the sword cave is amazing! wish I could understand what he says

  • I'm so confused. The title says Zelda, then it shows us a Mother-like game with Mario music playing in the background...and I don't understand enough Japanese to know what the woman is saying. Help?

  • see the other zelda bs videos BS refers to BS-X a satilite link add on for the superfamicom this video wasnt zelda BS

  • I knew ir didn't ,ean bull shit, I was just making a joke :). thanks though

  • So What the hell is this, and where can i get one

  • dude, is that mario music? or am i just not getting the point?

  • sk8oldskool, you are right, it is a variant of the old SMB theme. However, some Mario critters HAVE appeared in TLoZ games, notably, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Chain Chomps), The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Chain Chomps, oddly enough, as the good guys this time around, Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and those little Pirahna Plant wannabes from Super Mario Land), and possibly in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, and TLoZ: The Minish Cap.

  • Yoshi also appeared in Link's Awakening (as a doll, but he still appeared nonetheless).

  • wtf?????

  • u know wats BS about this? well IF THEY CAN HAVE VOICE CHAT IN 19 FUCKING 95 FOR THE SUPER NINTENDO, WHY CANT THEY HAVE IT IN 2008 FOR WII?

  • I believe it was via Satellite. But I agree :) good point

  • It wasn't voice chat.

It was the same as a live broadcast over the radio or TV, but just done for the SNES.

  • These were played live? Correct me if I'm wrong. Because I heard that for four weeks each week a new part of the map was unlocked? Again correct me if I'm wrong I don't know shit

  • que video mas cooler

  • mario music in background lol...

  • Damn, that load time sucks.

  • And it looks like that loading background was ripped from Earthbound (or Mother 2, whatever)

  • ...

  • They released SMB2J on the Wii Virtual Console and the GBA version of it, despite only being released in Japan, plays on US and EU GBA systems with no problems, so if Nintendo will do that, then they sure as hell can make it (the Bandai SatellaView version of The Legend of Zelda) appear in the US.

  • For sure. They need to make a newZelda collector's disc. With the two BS-X Zeldas and the three CDi Zeldas. I know the CDi ones are crap but I still want them, damn it!

  • agreed

  • ALso Navi Trackers. Why didn't we get Navi Trackers?

  • Man I hope they release this on the VC someday.

  • shades of Earthbound(Mother 2) and Mario RPG also?

  • I can see that too. DAMN YOU LANGUAGE BARRIER!!

  • ok bizzar je peut un peu conprendre mais c est du chinois!!!

  • Désolé de péter ta bulle, c'est du Japonais -_-

  • ahahah

  • ben je ses maintenant que japrend le japonais mais je savais po avant!

  • I couldn't play with some dude yapping at me half the time...

Still, I agree with Doc Scissors on this one; it sucks to be American when you can't get good games like this.

  • whats this the music is mario werid

  • en ingles por favor

  • I have this game. :) :) :)

it's funn, but I don't like the ghost!

    He's weird!

  • *sigh* sometimes I wish I were born Japanese. I got screwed out of this game because I'm a Yankee.

  • i dont understand shit

  • what the hell is this, it looks awesome.

  • is this game real?

if yes can anyone tell me how to find it?

  • The easiest explaination is this: Back in the early 1990s, before the SNES died in Japan, they released a satellite based extention called the "BS-X". This let you download games from a service called "St. Giga". This video is the introduction sequence, starting out from Mascot town to the start of BS Zelda (Map-1). This video was uploaded to show us (from Zelda Legends) what was supposed to be at the start of the game... since no one had a clue before this. ^_^

  • Who's that? xD This is Yuna from the forums.

  • Hi Yuna, I'm Tre. Also from the forums (of course).

  • Oh, hi Tre. ^^

  • I'm sure I know you... but which forum member are you? :P

  • Sorry, I mean my forum name is Yuna. xD Not my real name.

  • Ah. See, what confused me was that you have two names here... I didn't figure your name was really Yuna. :P

  • This is interesting... I'm kinda confused about whats going on here though. Yeah it's an introduction, but transmitted? Whats all the stuff at the beginning? and... Chrono Trigger music?

  • Do you still have the original video? Because I would be very interested in seeing the entire thing with a better quality, as much as I appreciate the two that you've uploaded. =)

  • Wow I didn't know that game had an intro..

  • It very took time to the data circuit of the satellite channel used by Satellaview for download very thinly.

BS Zelda seems to have been throwing the introduction between those.

  • Very cool! This is the first time I ever saw the intro to BS Zelda 1.

  • Scuse me... but I have no idea whats going on. Give me the general message and I will rate.

  • It's the introduction to BS Zelda, a game that was transmitted for only a short time in Japan.

  • Very interesting Makuchan! I'm the guy who interviewed you over MSN.
