3:17 im not sure but it looks like thats while u wait for the rom to download and we're talking the 1990s i was a kid back then internet was 56k satelite being much slower due to it having to grab a signal so this must have been slower than 56k but the standard wait time for downloading a FULL SNES GAME on 56k is anywhere from 5min-15min. Satellite games were not as big in file size since they were not (always) entire games...
btw all this is avail on the web for emulators BS FZERO is awesome!
@TheOffensiveuser Yes but only when they played it during the alloted time period otherwise no narration, must have been pretty cool to hear someone say "it's dangerous to go alone, TAKE THIS!"
Where did you get this video from? Do you have a copy of the ROM of this? Because this looks like a VERY GOOD and ACCURATE dump of the game! Please send me a copy of the ROM to this email address:
No,this is recored on VHS and original SNES console because there is no download screen for emulator from 2:26 to 4:01 and later parts.
Satellaview is a form of SNES attachment then,it uses satellite to receive games and download it.(Mostly stored in dedication cartridge roms that you set on SNES.)
The most important part it--
It only worked in Japan from 1995/4/23 ~ 2000/6/30
To get this game, you have to Google it
Or find a saved cartridge rom on the Internet with original SNES
The BS zeldas were great but they were way too easy. I love the original zelda artwork. It used to look so grim and dark in comparison to the new art.
Damn why in the world does this had to stop... Someone should pay St.GiGa so they could air again^^ Even if it is just the same old stuff every month again!
I doubt that even if we all made enough noise about this Nintendo would release anything similar or release the games for the Virtual Console & or Wiiware.
Wow its great to see videos of things like this, for game lovers like myself. Its a Rare chance to see things we would otherwise never have the chance to see. So a big thank you to you and all who post rare video's of lost treasures like this.
It just shows how ahead of its time satellaview & Nintendo were, and so were sega with Sega channel. Just think we are raving about downloadable games and content with the lastest machines when others were enjoying it years before!
Sure would have liked to play this Zelda. Hopefully they'll make a game similar to Link to the Past for the DS or virtual console. Like a top down Zelda with this game as a bonus unlockable or perhaps a DS version of this for Club Nintendo.
I'm so confused. The title says Zelda, then it shows us a Mother-like game with Mario music playing in the background...and I don't understand enough Japanese to know what the woman is saying. Help?

Ummm... ok...
not to sound rude but... If the BS stands for Bull Shit, I could kinda see why... This doesn't look much like a Zelda game to me, just some ripped sprites and edited backgrounds... I mean even the so called "cutcenes" look like they were ripped from a comic.
sk8oldskool, you are right, it is a variant of the old SMB theme. However, some Mario critters HAVE appeared in TLoZ games, notably, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Chain Chomps), The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Chain Chomps, oddly enough, as the good guys this time around, Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and those little Pirahna Plant wannabes from Super Mario Land), and possibly in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, and TLoZ: The Minish Cap.
These were played live? Correct me if I'm wrong. Because I heard that for four weeks each week a new part of the map was unlocked? Again correct me if I'm wrong I don't know shit
They released SMB2J on the Wii Virtual Console and the GBA version of it, despite only being released in Japan, plays on US and EU GBA systems with no problems, so if Nintendo will do that, then they sure as hell can make it (the Bandai SatellaView version of The Legend of Zelda) appear in the US.
For sure. They need to make a newZelda collector's disc. With the two BS-X Zeldas and the three CDi Zeldas. I know the CDi ones are crap but I still want them, damn it!
The easiest explaination is this: Back in the early 1990s, before the SNES died in Japan, they released a satellite based extention called the "BS-X". This let you download games from a service called "St. Giga". This video is the introduction sequence, starting out from Mascot town to the start of BS Zelda (Map-1). This video was uploaded to show us (from Zelda Legends) what was supposed to be at the start of the game... since no one had a clue before this. ^_^
This is interesting... I'm kinda confused about whats going on here though. Yeah it's an introduction, but transmitted? Whats all the stuff at the beginning? and... Chrono Trigger music?
Do you still have the original video? Because I would be very interested in seeing the entire thing with a better quality, as much as I appreciate the two that you've uploaded. =)
