This is an awesome video. I am a convert and when I was discussing the church with friends before I joined I was faced with so much negativity. They made all these outlandish statements and accusations about the church. All this negativity was a testimony builder to me. As he says in the video "The devil is not dead". That in a nutshell explains exactly how I felt. Great video, its nice to hear an apostle say exactly what I was feeling.

Prior to the earthquake, Adrian Hernandez had planned a service project with the youth in his ward. In the end, the service project was building a house for his family. Like many others, his adobe house had been damaged beyond repair. The young men and their priesthood leaders helped Brother Hernandez build a modest new home near the old one.
Now they have their rhetorical walls broken down so that they can also have this help as well. I have learned more than anything that if you are prepared you shall not fear. I have seen that a people full of fear will do almost anything to survive. If we prepare spiritually by living the Gospel and by keeping a year's supply of food storage we shall not fear. Ever. I have a feeling that this is just the beginning. We must prepare.

The Chilean government has recognized Utah native Thomas E. Lyons with the highest honor the country gives to a foreigner.
Lyons was honored with the Bernardo O'Higgins award by Mariano Fernandez, Chile's secretary of state, on Feb. 8. Lyons currently serves as the president of the LDS temple in Santiago. Lyons was given the honorary rank of "Comendador," which translates as "Knight commander." The award was given in recognition of Lyons' eight years of church service in Chile.

So with this heart-rending problem, one would think the Haitian government would expedite the adoption process, and get these children into homes where they could be cared for. Not so. The adoption process in Haiti is gummed up with red tape, hurdles to cross, and frustrating delays.

When a team of 125 Latter-day Saint volunteers flew to Haiti last Thursday, they intended to send back the empty plane to the United States full of orphans ready for adoption. These were not the children newly orphaned by the earthquake, but orphans whose hopeful, adoptive parents had been working three to four tedious years to try to bring them out of the broken country where orphans languish and die for lack of nutrition and care.

This is an awesome video. I am a convert and when I was discussing the church with friends before I joined I was faced with so much negativity. They made all these outlandish statements and accusations about the church. All this negativity was a testimony builder to me. As he says in the video "The devil is not dead". That in a nutshell explains exactly how I felt. Great video, its nice to hear an apostle say exactly what I was feeling.

Many people have found themselves asking , "Where is my strength?" I've lost my house, my work also doesn't exist, I have no computer, no TV. Where am I?" they ask. More precisely they ask. "Who am I?" Seeing this, I am grateful to know that I, nor have they, been left alone in this very traumatic experience. I have had the Lord's help every step of the way.

After 50 years, these missionaries still look forward to gathering every six months (They will meet again on April 2 at 3 p.m. at the home of Elvin and Liz Tanner, 323 N. Main in Pleasant Grove).
While they realize the longevity of their group is unusual, they can't imagine discontinuing the reunions. They look forward to their association and opportunities for building the kingdom for many more years.

The Chilean government has recognized Utah native Thomas E. Lyons with the highest honor the country gives to a foreigner.
Lyons was honored with the Bernardo O'Higgins award by Mariano Fernandez, Chile's secretary of state, on Feb. 8. Lyons currently serves as the president of the LDS temple in Santiago. Lyons was given the honorary rank of "Comendador," which translates as "Knight commander." The award was given in recognition of Lyons' eight years of church service in Chile.

When a team of 125 Latter-day Saint volunteers flew to Haiti last Thursday, they intended to send back the empty plane to the United States full of orphans ready for adoption. These were not the children newly orphaned by the earthquake, but orphans whose hopeful, adoptive parents had been working three to four tedious years to try to bring them out of the broken country where orphans languish and die for lack of nutrition and care.

Halfway to the buoy I was praying for a giant catfish to come and swallow me whole. I somehow managed my way around the lake, breezed through the bike (it's my favorite), but about a mile into the run I hit the wall. In moments of great pain I become the most philosophical. Why does he claim that it is "outsiders" that claim Lds people believed in worshipping Adam, as God? That is just an obfuscation of what Bruce knew to be true: that Brigham Young promoted the doctrine: and, that mormons of Brig's day truly believed that; and, that Brig was not "speaking as a man", at the time.
McConkie said in a letter to Eugene England, once, that England ought to be excommunicated if he accepted the Adam-God Doctrine of Brother Brigham.

Congressman Jeff Flake
Though Congressman Flake is in a high pressure job, he has still had the opportunity in the last few weeks to sit in on a few missionary discussions, and though he spends the week in Washington DC, he flies home to Arizona every weekend to be with his family and go to church. This means he has to work hard to get his home teaching done.
