Whether or not its a good cover, the lyrics complement the song material of the Whoracle album perfectly, that's the main reason I like it and think it fits the album.

Not really a metal person per se... but this cover does rock. The fact that they did it in their own style is an honorable tribute to DM.. It's obvious they were moved/inspired not only by the the music but by the content of character of this song and to mold it so that they made it their own says a lot about IF's musicianship.

I'm sure if DM were to hear this... not only would they be honored, but flattered.

This is actually quite good. I still prefer the original, but this has translated to a different genre far better than I'd expected.

Anyway, generic distinctions of this sort are a bit silly. There's lots of interplay between New Wave and the late 80s/early 90s alternative stuff that influences modern metal, so it really needn't be a case of either/or.
