  • I saw these Muse headline day 2 at Outside Lands in SF. The Black Keys blew 'em off the stage!

  • @jsm408 the black keys are shit compared to muse

  • One person saw Coldplay

  • They're a good band. I find them a little over dramatic though.

  • @21madmethod thats what makes their concerts the best, duhhhh :)

  • @ileikghettoboizz ahaha okay, okay

  • Best part: 6:13 to 6:24. Actually 0:00 to 7.26.

  • that harmonica intro stuff forgot its name should be on there next album or just a recording

  • Lol, Dom drops one of his sticks @ 1:27! Handled it like a boss!

  • @Nickman5000 that means this is not a playback

  • 1 dislike, really?....i will destroy you

  • Please do, the world can do just fine without such inferior beings

  • okay seriously whos the one dumbfuck that disliked this?

  • 1:25 Dom drops his stick xD

  • too bad i couldnt go...the first time i was disappointed was when i couldnt go to their United Center gig in Chicago on March 12 in 2010. if i had my own fucking JOB this wouldnt be a problem...

  • How many people were there?

  • @dp1195 couldnt see i was front row im guessing between 100k and 200k cus there we 275k total there and they were against coldplay thats it

  • I've got Muse's last 2 albums and there's some amazing moments on them but a hell of a lot of filler as well. the band has really moved me at times and blown me away but I've heard a lot of stuff that makes me think, why the hell does everybody rate this band as one of the best ever when i've got 2 of their albums and they're just not that fucking good?? My only conclusion is that origins of symmetry must be off the fucking chain

  • @blues3531 okay dude, chill out i was just expressing a thought, thanks for the input :]

  • @DGENERATE07 it is and absolution.

  • @grimchain right on!

  • Why is Matt always using those pants?

  • Why couldn't any of the vloggers that everyone knows be a fan and have recorded Muse. Fuckin hell

  • @thesIeepywiIIow it's because those popular vloggers where sent to lolla by youtube and because the vloggers yt sent were on the yt partnership program, they have to abide by the copyright laws. i think it's like you can only include 15 seconds of music or video that you don't have the right to .

  • @free533 That makes sense. I have heard multiple times that WMG and muse don't get along too well over in the U.S.

  • awesome quality for a handheld cam!

  • Incredible job filming this. Especially how steady your hand is while people were smacking you constantly.

  • Why, oh, why was this not streamed? :(

  • I WAS THERE!

  • Could you tell me what you used to record this?

  • @ddepaul panasonic tm700k

  • @bubbakja how much was it???

  • Listen to that crowd on the intro guitar riff. What a great concert that was. Im pissed Lolla decided to professionally capture Cold Play over Muse. Poor choice Lolla.

  • Fuck Coldplay!

  • My brain fell out.

  • What Dom was wearing that night was hilarious

  • coldplay sucks!

  • ชอบ มาก มาก มาก มาก ไม่รู้จะอธิบายยังไงแล้วพี่น้องคับ

  • I mean he has a good voice but he uses effects to support them...just like chester of linkin park!

  • The only thing I notice is that they use a lot of effects to support the vocals and other little things...But almost all bands do it

  • I love the guy in the background who walks casually by, picks something up and lopes of the stage hahahahaha!

  • sounds and looks legit to me, a long time muse fan and guitarist, whos seen muse live multiple timess. and i doubt dave grohl was reffering to muse, he of anyone there would know for sure they kick ass

  • MUSE is the best band in the wooooorlddddddddddddd

  • Stop hating coldplay haters -.-

Btw Muse is still awesome but i also like Coldplay so i won't complain

  • @marlahooch12 I think your wrong. Muse never makes any mistakes because they practice their balls off. Matt's voice is flawless and he is amazing. Ive seen muse 3 times and I've heard missed guitar notes. They aren't perfect but they arent 'cheating' what ever that means. muse is the best live band ever, thats a fact. If you say they are cheating, then explain. You have no evidence broseph

  • Matt's guitar cut out during parts of "Time is Running Out" at LA Rising. I just so happened to witness it like a week ago. LA Rising had a few sound glitches. And Muse is 10x better than Foo Fighters.

  • @marlahooch12 Have you ever stopped to consider they are just extraordinarily talented people? (Which they are) Also I'll have you know I've seen at least 3 different videos where they mess up, in one Dom opens up with the drums but Chris comes in playing the wrong bassline, in another Matt simply hits a wrong not (Showbiz).

  • @marlahooch12

I've gotten that feeling from Linkin Park before, but muse are obviously improving during their shows. Bellamy isn't going to sit there and memorize when to drop a specific finger tap or random solo.

  • Comment removed

  • @marlahooch12 That's nonsense. The whole point of playing live is to play live. Milli Vanilli used backing tracks because the SUCKED, Muse can actually play as well as they sound on the records.

  • @indiefilmman well in resistance and some other songs they play live there is a backing track mainly because they're only a three person band and they couldn't have someone playing ambient noises as well as guitar/bass/drums. but i agree with you 100% muse plays very well, if not better live than the studio version. that's what i love at their shows - no disappointment or anything like "oh wow, they suck live"

  • Comment removed

  • @bubbakja There is some improving going on, like the way end of Uprising the guitar goes live, and the intro guitar here, but the lead vocals and a lot of the main riffs are being heavily enhanced by backing tracks. There's no way they're that perfect every show, especially vocally. It's just not physically/humanly possible.

Re: LP - I can vouch that I've heard occasional bad notes from Chester (a good thing, in my opinion). I'm not sure how much "help" the rest of the band has these days.

  • @marlahooch12 when i first saw muse at the united center last year btw matt screwed up the guitar riff in exogenesis. yes they make a few mistakes rarely. also glastonbury 2004 chris missed a note during citizen erased near the intro.

  • @bubbakja Linkin Park have made their fair share of mistakes live. From dead notes, early entrances, malfunctioning equipment, flubbed lyrics, to having to completely restart a song at one point.

  • @marlahooch12 I highly doubt Muse "cheats" live, nor do they really have much computer stuff going on. All the effects you hear are being played by their touring synth/keyboard player. Bellamy created and wrote all those parts, and it just wouldn't be the same without them. In my honest eyes, it's not cheating in the slightest, there is no backing track. Search "muse switch places", thats what happened when a TV show forced them to fake/lip sync playing. They are legit mate.

  • Muse are not perfect live : @ 1:25 Dom loses a drumstick...

  • @samuelcerrito and? you are perfect?

  • @samuelcerrito Thats fucking hilarious. I love muse too much. That is why it is funny :)

  • @marlahooch12 I think you are honestly just skeptical of their abilities as talented musicians who have been playing together as a band for over 15 years. If I was in a band for 15 years with gigantic albums and fans, I wouldn't be missing many notes either. It's a testament to their performance skill, they don't 'miss' notes but there's definitely things that are unique about each MUSE performance, and I don't understand how you would miss that.

  • @marlahooch12 cheaters, how? he's clearly not lip synching - sounds much different than the studio album.

  • @marlahooch12 LOL WHAT IS THIS COMMENT

  • @marlahooch12 jesus christ, LOL. is this a joke?

  • @marlahooch12 or maybe, just maybe.. they are all really fucking good at doing their respective jobs within the band.

  • @marlahooch12 You've never considering the fact that they're professional musicians who have rehearsed their performance thousands of times? Some people are that good.

  • @marlahooch12 You are in some serious denial. I've heard Bellamy miss guitar notes and vocal hits... you'd probably notice if you actually knew their songs. They're just one of those live bands that are just THAT good. I can guarantee you that a prodigy like Bellamy would never need to use a computer for any kind of sound.

  • @marlahooch12 I don't think they are doing any more - if any - cheating than any other live band. It looks and sounds pretty damn authentic to me.

  • @marlahooch12 Please consider the possibility that Matt Bellamy plays guitar very very well! Muse have always said that they don't use computers to correct notes or things like that.

If you want a clip of a wrong note from Muse, I'd be glad to show you many videos with mistakes. Matt Bellamy gets loads of notes slightly off, and loads of notes more than slightly off.

Also, how exactly do you think they cheat live? Do you think that they play back the album version of the song or something?

  • @mattius999 If you have clips of him hitting bad notes vocally, please PM them to me, I'd appreciate it. I don't think they lipsync or play back the album. I think they use pre-recorded backing tracks for a lot of the lead vocals and main riffs that "thicken" the sound and automatically get inserted by computers if anyone hits a bad note. Also some major autotunage going on since everything is always 100% perfectly on pitch.

  • @marlahooch12 no just no. definitely not ever using autotune. i cant believe this is the fucking mindset people have when they're actually presented with the best live band in the world. they're just a whole fucking 3 or 4 leagues above foo fighters and the lot basically.

  • @blues3531 I am a massive muse fan seen them 4 times seen foo fighters once believe me there not above foo fighters at all hahahah

  • @blues3531 Damn RIGHT!

  • @blues3531 Some people just can't accept that maybe these guys are talented!

  • @blues3531 Best live band in the world? They're awesome live, but no. Listen to Umphrey's McGee live, and you'll retract that statement.

  • @Hockeyevan9992

lmao, the what the fuck is an umphreys mcgee? maybe they are better, but that name alone tells me I have better things to do than find out.

  • @burningred153 If that's honestly your reason for not listening to a band, because they have a goofy name, then you're just fucking stupid. Go listen to the shitty Foo Fighters, that's obviously a normal band name ..

  • @Hockeyevan9992

i only listen to leif garrett

  • @burningred153 Leif Garrett is dope as fuck.

  • @marlahooch12 My friend has perfect pitch and we were watching Muse at Rock AM Ring on T.V. and she said he was slightly off pitch during Uprising. I couldn't tell because I don't have perfect pitch but she noticed. Also, just watch their Teignmouth show XD There are so mistakes during that show.

  • @marlahooch12 so if they automatically insert backing tracks whenever there's a mistake, explain this... wwwDOTyoutubeDOTcom/watch?v=9uG1wgmztv0

  • @mattius999 It's theslight imperfections that make them so awesome - and so much better than the album versions! I thought their albums were great.....then I saw them live. Life changing experience.

  • @marlahooch12 look at the Plug In Baby Lollapalooza 2011, he messes up a bit in that

  • @marlahooch12 there's a video where dom messes up.they were about to start playing TIRO but dom started off Starlight(x

  • @marlahooch12 this doesnt even make sense? how are they cheating? sorry they're just quite a bit more talented than anyone in the foo fighters by a landslide.

  • @marlahooch12 The reason for their perfect performances are not because they are, "cheats" as you put it, but they are a seriously talented band! :)

  • @marlahooch12 i think you should youtube search a video of dom making a mistake during time is running out. they were supposed to play tme is running out but dom started with starlight. how can you call yourself a muse fan? go back to listening to justin bieber

  • @marlahooch12 Maybe they're that just fucking good???

  • @Burntoastman31 They're obviously great players and songwriters, but no, just not humanly possible to be that vocally consistent at every show. Something's up. Not lip-syncing, but something.

  • @marlahooch12 Uh, no. It is pretty possible to be that consistent. You've seen them live five times and they were flawless... which does not mean they're cheaters. You can't say they're cheating because they don't mess up often now. These guys have been playing together since something like 1994 xD

  • @marlahooch12 you are clearly fucking retarded and you are definitley not a muse fan. Try checking out their performances when they played songs from their showbiz or origin of symmetry album. You do know Muse have been performing for over 10 years now right? Try going back to those years and you'll see that Muse isnt "cheating live" performances.

  • @marlahooch12 I watched an interview with Dave Grohl talking about how rock bands record digitally too much and lose their edge if they don't do it analog. He wasn't talking about playing live. I'm sorry if you can't understand that these guys have been playing for 17 years and therefore mistakes are out the window. If you want a mistake look at the solos in Hysteria and Time Is Running Out during Wembley in 2007.

  • @marlahooch12 They've won multiple official awards for their live performances ...do you think that the officials don't know if they're cheating or not

  • @marlahooch12 how exactly do they cheat? and matt does mess up every now then,

  • @marlahooch12 You've seen muse live 5 times and your complaining? I would do anything to see them live just once

  • @chunter3654 Yes, I spent good money and I can say whatever I want :-)

  • @marlahooch12 ur retarded

  • @marlahooch12

    1:25, Lost drumstick.

2:08, Bellamy hits a guitar note a semitone too high.

2:33, he's a 1/4 tone flat on one of the high notes, and he finishes about a 1/4 tone flat at 2:52.

2:57 to 3:10, the first part of the verse is actually quite flat.

If there was any autotune used, he wouldn't be able to use the tremolo arm, sing with vibrato or slide between notes as it would quantize and you'd get the classic 'autotune sound'.

There's loads of imperfections and a GREAT live performance :)

  • @marlahooch12 I'm not a blinkered fanboy, btw, my favourite band is actually The Who, but one of the things I really like about Muse is their ability to adapt songs live from how they are on records, and how they pull off spectacular live shows while actually playing live. There's just a lot of elements to their shows (like the ones I pointed out) that show they are live and not autotuned or playback assisted.

  • Comment removed

  • @marlahooch12 your slightly retarded arent you?

  • @marlahooch12 You're a moron,

  • @crazycricket15 I'll I've asked for is one clip of Matt Bellamy ever singing out of key at any Muse show from 2006-present and no one can provide me with one. They just call me names. Makes me think I'm onto something.

  • @marlahooch12 um.. excuse me i don't think you've seen FaithHealers comment yet.

  • @marlahooch12 There are dozens of examples. Here's a recent one: watch?v=dwON4jqSEMs&feature=youtu.be&t=2m14s

  • @marlahooch12 Playing live is the biggest priority for Muse. They would NEVER do such a thing. They use a LOT of effects (vocal, guitar, synths etc.)...

  • @marlahooch12 it's safe to say that though the foo fighters have some talent, and though Grohl is good at drums, it sounds to me that he is just unimpressed because he may think the foofighters have surpassed bands like Rush and Muse in all brackets of talent because they can change one or two riffs, while still holding back from actually creating anything new. They probably don't understand muse. No matter how harsh that sounds, that is my belief.

  • @marlahooch12 How dare you assume to know the mind of Dave Grohl, not even Dave Grohl knows his own mind! I think you're just jealous that you aren't as talented, popular, and badass as Muse, or Dave Grohl

  • @marlahooch12 u obv do not play any instruments. If they were syncing that would actually be a lot of work, IE. mute notes improv @ 1:40 , slide up @ 2:21, bending @ 4:04. Recording those and then syncing them live would be retarded.... there is no way they were syncing. Also Matt misses a note during chorus of CE, and was off-tune for a few seconds during SS' verse, but KoC they were absolutely perfect :D

  • @ZeniBass actually, you're 100% wrong. I do play instruments and, once again, I never said they were lip syncing. Backing tracks are a different thing. And I'm saying backing tracks of the main riffs and vocal melodies, not just keyboard parts, etc.

  • @marlahooch12 I think they are just wicked musicians, if that's not too hard to believe.

  • @marlahooch12 he's making feedback noise with his guitar in the beginning how is he cheating, he plays these songs everyday, just because you can't play it as good as he can doesn't mean hes not playing it. and i can hear guitar hums between transitions

  • @marlahooch12 I seen vids here where Matt says that he forgot the lyrics or they make mistakes like that one time where Dom was playing a different song .

  • @marlahooch12 So wrong. Just because they are great musicians and the best live band in the world you assume they cheat.

  • @marlahooch12

Muse is famous for not using computers on stage, they are on the same line with the foo fighters on that point.

Every time he does slightly other slides and stuff. He's is just a good musician, and has also taken classical studies and stuff, which made him really profesional.

  • @marlahooch12 watch?v=oqOU7pnCyZs&feature=related

Look at this video,I think it was the first or second time Muse played USOE. You can hear Bellamy playing the piano part at the end (I think he doesn't play this part anymore since that day) and then...just forgot the end of the song. The best thing is that he doesn't really care about this mistake. Conclusion : Muse are not cheating. They're just amazing musicians who practice a lot to give us the best performance they could ever do. Every time.

  • where were you sitting i was in the front and it was amazing!!!!

  • Morricone!

  • best. concert. of . my. life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! id pick muse over cold play anyday! even though i wassss super mad they schedualed it at the same time-.-

  • did anyone else notice they sold the muse merchandise at the non headliners tent?

  • @TheJoc94 Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. I was bummed by the Muse selection, though. None of the shirts were that good. I wanted a good Muse shirt real bad.. ended up with a Foo, A Perfect Circle, Manchester Orchestra, Lolla 20th Anniversary, and an Arctic Monkeys.

  • @TheJoc94 yeah i couldnt find it anywhere so i look in the non headliners and bam there it was

  • After watching Foster the People, I watched a bit of Coldplay to see why they were streamed instead.

Dammit, just by this video alone, you could EASILY tell how much more exciting Muse's concerts are, Muse so should have been broadcasted...

  • I was at this show, holy fuck. It was the fuckin raw, this video does zero justice

  • Yo estuve ahi!!!!

  • Wow dude.. really great quality videos. I saw yours from Lolla last year too, so I was looking forward to seeing if you would have any this year as well. Looks like you were right about where I was during the Muse show! We were right by the rail on the side you're at, about where the soundbooth was.

    Amazing show. Great vids!

  • Simply amazing, great Friday night tunage!

  • DE POCA SU PINCHE PUTA MADREE!!!.. a little of emotion... with bad words in spanish :D AWEVO PUTA MADREE!... CHINGÓN!.

  • got to the very front for muse. Best time of my life

  • Love how they openened w/ the Harmonica Song from 'Once Upon A Time In The West'...

  • crazy concert. 2nd row. i still have trouble hearing.

  • Ahh Matt and his u.s flag shirt<3

  • this wasnt at lolla it was in indiana at the verizon wireless music center the wednesday before it...

  • @mrgreekman123 no it want i was just there and it was for sure at lolla

  • Dude, the quality is amazing! What camera did you use?

  • i was there. this was orgasmic

  • Haha I was about to ask 2 questions: why all the Coldplay hating and why the heck wasn't this streamed live on youtube? I now realize they're connected lol but why couldn't they stream both - there were 2 channels on there? and who was the idiot that planned the show - if I had to chose I'd pick Muse but I would've loved to see both.

  • Wish I could have gone, I was at camp..

I did get to go Sunday though <3

Too bad I missed Muse and Bright Eyes :/

  • wait what? why is everybody talking about coldplay i dont understand, and still coldplay is a great band and so is muse! they have their own style of perfomance okay? if you want to see some live action at a concert,i suggest you guys go check out rammstein, now THATS a real live show

  • @mistressMoro They streamed coldplay instead of muse on the lolla channel... and coldplay is shit in live, sounds exactly like the album

  • @HayDoKitten id say coldplay was worse than the album! my friend made me go to coldplay instead of muse and i regret it now!

  • <3

  • How a bad timing & organizing can destroy friendship between two great band fans...

  • @jaunzemselvijs haha tell me about it...too many artist conflicts like this one and i just decided not to go...i couldn't be put in that situation..not these 2 bands for me personally....seen em both live and i couldn't chose...idk why they did this...he could of be something epic seeing em back 2 back..

  • i guess bubbakja couldn´t enjoy muse´s show for recording it, but thanks for sharing buddy!!

  • muse..."knights of cydonia" Lollapalooza 2011 Thumbs up!!

  • How did Perry dare to make great bands play at the same day, same time?? Why perry?? He could have arranged that >:o

  • @budahgirl9110 they have to split up big performances so there won't be 80,000 at one stage and 100 at the other

  • @bobsk8er14 well, if someone's playing at the end of the day is cause they're really good, of course 100 people is absurd. so knowing that coldplay and muse (I Knoooooow they're different, i love them both) have related fans (the ones that like alternative rock, etc) and prefer watching them instead of eminem, either band could have played on saturday instead of my morning jacket... at least, that's what I think.

  • Great quality sound and vid. . Thanks for uploading.

  • This is insane.

  • OMFGGGGGGGGGGG this is freakin AWESOME! if i had been there, i could die in peace now!

  • Pfft, who in their right minds would prefer Muse over the "Mountain Goats" or "My morning Jacket"?!?

obviously the fanbase is bigger on those two bands than muse!

  • The riff at the end is amazing.

  • fuck Lollapalooza for showing Coldplay, and then rebroadcasting shitty bands from earlier in the day instead of broadcasting Muse as well. Doesn't make any sense at all..

  • both coldplay and muse are amazing, stop complaining who's better. Makes all of you look like animals

  • Waiting for Muse to come on, I had this girl behind me who seriously was wondering if this was Coldplay's stage. Should have told her yes, would have loved to see her reaction when Uprising started up.

  • coldplay has a nice sound, and a rush of blood to the head was pretty good, but holy shit, muse is the most powerful, artistic, undeniably incredible live act in the world

  • kind of glad all this social networking didn't get in the way at woodstock, we just enjoyed the shit out of the vibe the music the tab, and the pipe

  • I can't believe they didn't show muse
