Though Lucrecia was foolish and crazy, one thing she did turned out for good--and that was her injecting Vincent with the Chaos gene. If it wasn't for Vincent's Chaotic side, neither he nor anyone else would be able to "save the world" in DC. I personally sympathize with Lucrecia. I think she loved Vincent, but could not allow herself to be with him, because of her overwhelming feeling of guilt of being responsible for Grimoire's (Vincent's father), so she lost her mind and married Hojo instead.

I love how you all feel the need to blame Dr. Crescent. While she herself is perhaps stupid and annoying, Vincent is the one who refuses to let go of his guilt and his love for a woman who never loved him and who is, in part or in whole responsible for his current state.

He is, what we who write call a "static character", he's never going to change.

If he had gotten over it easily, it wouldn't seem right or human, because lets face it, it's human nature to either shirk all the blame, or blame oneself too much.
