A long time ago the University of Maine at Orono Maine, was rated in one of Rolling Stone Magazine's TOP 10 Drinking Party Schools. For a long time the school tried to control this but in the past 5 to 10 years it's got rampant again, not just Alcohol but other drugs (a meth lab was actually shut down that was runningin one of the dormatories). Drugs, Drinking, Pot are a huge problem at UMaine-Orono. It's very sad. I"m guessing they'd be right back up on the top 10 list soon.

I know at UMaine-Orono ME I've heard rumors that everything from drug abuve to some rapes have been kept quiet so it doesn't make Maine look bad. Even suicide rates kept quiet (Maine has a higher than national average on suicide rates). Anyway, hiding facts only makes things worse and more taboo, making them more of a big deal : (

Both of my parents were alcoholics, my mother managed to stop but not before she wound up acquiring pancreatitis, so now she's off of it for life. My father, on the other hand,...he didn't stop, and passed away in '98.

I used to set all different types of limits for myself including, only a few on the weekends, 2 drinks per day, maybe 1 good buzz on a weeknight, I would break those boundaries I set and before I knew it I was getting drunk every night again waking up the next day to drink a few to calm the intense anxiety. Im going to write an add another song in my videos here on you tube about this problem.

@alm0sthere I forgot to tell you I have an original song on my youtube page called lift me up. It is a song I wrote as i came to the realization of what alcohol has become in my life. Its about depression,alcoholism, and anxiety, when those evils started working in cycle it seems it has turned my brain into mush.
