  • @zaztoTV im a 14-17 year old (17, to be exact) and id take Common over Wayne any day of the week.

  • Drake and Common are both half black and white but Common makes dope classic songs. While Drake is a dip of shit can't even rap, using too much auto tune, and freestylin with lyrics from his own song

  • @Anerd8 looool Common isn't half white. Both he's parents are black, he's just light skinned aka a lighter skin black guy.

  • Real Shit...Real Hip Hop...Just blaze one an listen to his style

  • Common Is Mad DOPE! Emcee He Keeps It Hip-Hop

From His Old Style Of His First Album "Can I Borrow A Dollar" To His Latest Album He Working On "The Dreamer,The Believer"

Common Always Keeping It Real Hip-Hop

  • Listening to this song really makes it hard to believe that FOX labeled Common as a thug.

  • @amw945

cant put anything past the ignorance of the people @ FOX. its sad .

they see a black man making rhymes && assume its something negative .

had they taken the time to listen to what he's saying ; the'd be pleasantly surprised .

    i <3 common ' still bumpin to him n 2011 =]

  • @amw945

    FOX more likely was trolling.

  • yoo dis song khange ur whole mind it makes u want to give lol itz kool da vibe

  • elevated, enlightened, deep, raw.

  • Just because your half black and half white and whatever else doesn't make you any more insightful if you only reply to one part of a conversation that was involving other people out of context and then judge people on it is even more ignorant than your comments involving music and race towards me. The fact that I already defended the opposite race in my argument and I clarified that not one race is less appreciative even though my first comment was in a certain context shows that if you read.

  • Lupe is still Lupe, but the fans demanded Lasers and he atleast his messages are still on it underneath the pop beats and mainstream hooks. If Atlantic stays out of the fucking way, Lupe is still one of the best rappers hands down. Hopefully he can show that again on "Food & Liquor 2".

  • COMMON SOLD OUT WITH THE REST JUST YOU WAIT HE,LL BE DOIN SUMTIN WITH LIL WAYNE ,EMINEM AND RHIANNA LOL

  • @MrLeebo123 Not Tryin 2 Be Rude.. but im my opnion Common is one of the best Mc...... but i think u should keep your comments to yourself ! :)

  • @MsWindyCity23 lol and why is it that u can express ur opinion and he cant? hez got a point. if common really used to love her he wudnt be doing what he is doing in termz of his recent music. dont get me wrong, songs like "the people" and resurrection and i used to love her are timeless hip hop classics and im just saying itz a shame hez dumbing down his real and amazing talent to make it more appealing. nothing wrong with club bangerz now n then but i just miss the real hip hop by these ppl.

  • @lunatic284 Excuses me lunatic284 ! One i wasn't typing to you.. Two What Is "hez"? Do you mean He's?.. Lol I thought we learned how to spell words like that in kindergarden.. LMBO.. Anyways learn how to spell then come holler at me :)

  • @MsWindyCity23 this is the INTERNET DUMBASS. why do i needa spell shit correctly? so "excuses" me mswindycity but either FUK off and become an english teacher if u have the urges to point out spelling on the INTERNET wher it has no significance what so ever or actually argue the point i was making. ur reply had pretty much nothing to do with what i had said so maybe you should get something relevant to say next time before hollering at me.

PS "LMBO" probably wont be accepted in an essay eithr

  • @lunatic284 Yeah your right ... I didn't say anyhting about what you wrote . I find this hilarious... so you had to call me a dumbass and curse at me to get your point across? whos the dumbass that can't type a comment back without using curse words? that just shows how intellingent you are DUMBASS ...!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @MsWindyCity23 i called u a dumbass because you chose to ignore the point i was making and focus on my spelling which is just stupidity because itz youtube so spelling dont count for shit. i see that u have AGAIN chosen to not respond to the actual point i was making in my first comment and this time you choose to target the fact that i swore...?? i can clearly see itz pointless trying to talk to you about hip hop and ur just anothr dickrider. i assure u this wil b my last reply dw.

  • @lunatic284 Lol Thanks Yes I Do Ride Dick Pretty hard.. HAHAH

  • @MsWindyCity23 i think i just got aroused??

  • @getdafukoutahere Wow .. Lol

  • @lunatic284 Hell naw, she didnt spell opinion right and says some shit about you CORRECTING your spelling spelling? "OPNION" is spelled in thumbs up comments WTF?Lol real hip hop turned into a ho, Common Sense even said it in a song. Oh and now he'll prolly yeah "prolly"(lol) get back with that slut. I agree with your 1st comment.

  • @MrLexTalionis1 hahaha well said well said

  • @lunatic284 it wasnt your last

  • @MrLeebo123 Common has too much soul to sing with them. Maybe Rhianna but that would be it out of that list.

  • @opeamlom You make me wish stupidity was painful.

  • @thedeman87 I have to say i dont know where in the world you could be living; in which the majority of all white people walk around listening to Common all day! Secondly its not 'black kids' its kids in general. And as for Drake, he's managed to speak honestly about his feelings in a way that is helping black men to be more upftont about their emotions without fear of ridicule; for which - as a black woman - i am grateful. But hey to each their own and all that.

  • Obamas theme song

  • EVERYONE! Please go to my channel i have all the real hip hop music. There all in my favorites playlist! Im trying to do this for the Real Rap/Hip Hop community! None of it is by me just by real Artists I have all the music in my favorites. If you want me to keep doing this please leave a comment and spread it around. Thanks!

  • @Johnnyteti012 - Better have K'naan on there.

  • 444,222 views. haha

  • Screw white people they should go listen to crappy rock and metal:}

  • @opeamlom

I'm quite sure that's called hatred.

On a second note, you should appreciate all forms of music. I listen to everything...hip hop, rock, blues, jazz, electronic...

Who says I can't listen to Common, X-Clan, or Canibus and still listen to stuff like Animals as Leaders, Between the Buried and Me, Born of Osiris, or things of that nature. You should appreciate things for what they are instead of being ignorant.

  • @opeamlom whats sad about your statement is that most white people truly respect Common whereas most black kids are all about Lil Wayne and Drake n shyt

  • @thedeman87 So true, its a sad senario!

  • @thedeman87

sure, but I imagine that many white people cannot relate to the things common raps about. they can appreciate his music/rapping skills, but many of them don't know what it means to live what he raps about >> urban life, poverty, drug use, food deserts, unemployment, domestic abuse, etc....

  • @echoplex89 Really? It sounds to me that those are universal issues that everybody can relate to.I'm pretty sure the most drug users are white.I'm pretty sure there are just as many, if not more, cases for domestic abuse against whites as there are blacks.Almost everybody can relate to unemployment now in some way except for the very wealthy-which is a small number regardless.Urban life maybe not the same way as blacks--but ask Italians or Jews--they went through their own shit in this country.

  • @thedeman87 i would have to disagree with your comment..but i woud agree that common has more white fans than black fans..but still most white kids are into that bullshit radio pop

  • @StatenIzzy1 I really didn't intend to make it sound like white kids aren't responsible for that bullshit radio music, cause they are. But so are black kids. I never see Common, Mos Def, Talib on BET. I see soulja boy, Wiz (and not old, good Wiz either), and Drake all day. Before Lupe Fiasco was forced to put out a mainstream album, he was almost never on the radio or on television. His great music gets no exposure from any race on the mainstream.

  • @thedeman87 yes i agree with everything you said there completely...lupe is really a shame to me..his whole beggining of his career was saying everything whats wrong with mainstream hip hop and now hes doing everything that he was once against..his old albums were incredible but he changed so fuck him

  • @StatenIzzy1 Lupe is still my favorite artist out there. Atlantic Records put him in a catch-22. They gave him most of those songs to put on LAsers or it wasn't coming out. In fact, it got pushed back because he didn't accept "Nothin On You" which went to B.o.B. So if he wanted the record out he had to take songs like "Out of my Head" and "Show Goes On". Words I Never Said was supposed to be about a relationship break up and Lupe still made it political.

  • @thedeman thats bullshit. Aint about colour.10- 16 year olds listen lil wayne and drake cos its shoved in there face.you never hear other tunes cause they dont get the hype/promo. i aint saying all stuff that comes out now is bad as there are still some good artist eg eminem etc that talk about life. all lil wayne and that talk about are teenage girls, money, bitches and random shit. even if drake dont its all love tunes cos is couldnt hold an intelilectual convosation if it hit him in the face

  • @thedeman87 they may have made some some tunes but what made em sell was the odd good line, corus and damm good beats. you ever heard drake rap...lol. shiiittt.serious.and lil waynes lost his touch and is a autotune freak. he prob sleeps with an autotune machiene.he may even have a sexual relationship with it. thats when he's not boning lil 14 year old

  • @thedeman87 well, i'm black and white and much more in between. i love common because his music is actually music. it's intelligently put together.

race does not dictate your taste in music. i also listen to death metal, jazz, and opera.

i think both of you have very skewed opinions on race and music.

  • @xxdarkangel15xx Well that's interesting. You must have completely missed most of the conversation, and the part you are replying too was a response in which the original post said white people couldn't appreciate Common's words. Said responses were hypothetical points and examples that were simply playing devils advocate. You also must have missed the post where I deliberately clarified that I was just making a point and that good music doesnt reach the ears of enough people-race aside.

  • @thedeman87

the whole point here is that race doesn't matter when it comes to music. by arguing about it and even making it a point you're actually being counter productive to your own opinion.

  • @thedeman87 wwwaat?

  • @thedeman87 but he is telling the truth about his statement you barley catch black people listening to rock

  • @thedeman87

Thats the opposite white people be all over lil wayne and drake and the non ghetto blacks like common

  • @thedeman87 im respect him, 1 black man me

  • @thedeman87 WTF are you talking about???? Do you know most Black ppl or most white ppl?? You have no idea wtf you're talking about...

  • @thedeman87

wrong on all levels you dont know what you are talking about pls just stop.

  • @opeamlom ...hahaha such stupidity.

  • @opeamlom music isn't about color. nothing is keeping a white man from rapping (Eminem), nor is anything keeping a black man from playing rock (Jimi Hendrix).

  • @opeamlom - Yo fuck you cuh, I'm white and guarantee you I've got more street cred, can spit better and know more about hip-hop on a bad day then you'd know searching the game your whole life.

  • i love u common

  • WOW there is actually ppl disliking this song 2day some ppl dnt hav souls

  • there shouldn't even be a dislike button for this.. wow

  • any song common made i love!

  • So sick! :D

  • Lol, Kanye stealing Dilla's samples XD

  • 17 People who are Waka Flocka Flame fans

  • 17 people dont like real Hip Hop

  • Common is good, but don’t limit your choice of music to the mainstream rappers. Enjoy all different types…kinda like women, y’know? I know the underground has a lot of bad emcees, as does mainstream, but here is a list of some of my personal favorites. Keep an open mind, and give them a listen: -atmosphere -akrobatik -apathy -cunninlynguists -dessa -jean grae -brother ali -the roots -k’naan -toki wright -swollen members -mr. lif -invincible -the grouch & eligh -talib kweli -mos def

  • at least there is someone that takes the hip hop to the roots!!

  • so damn fine!

  • sounds like boxing...

  • common this you are your best, sometimes i wonder where ya head at

  • @MrCameronsterling if you notic e man, everyones style changes after they have lived rich and famous, nas, jay, lots of famous rock bands. they lose all worries, the best music is written with high emotion ya know alot of feeling... if pac and biggie was still alive people would be hating on them....even some of my favorite undergound artists changed once they got popular

  • I like this song and the beat is really tight.

  • my nigga common--super underated,he be spittin real talk--common u ma nigga i listens 2u the whole album "Finding Forever" went hard and dat "universal mind control" album did as well

  • "Common" has so many good songs

when I heard this for the first time I had listen it like...20-30 times (serious)

  • Common is great!

  • I think I still have Common's original cassette tape in storage somewhere.

  • LOVE THIS MAN!!!

  • while white folk focus on yoga? hmmmmm.... while black folk focus on guns and chicken..

I respect common but come on, i thought he was above this racial tension bullshit

  • @themplskid i think that maybe the point of that wasn't to bring up racial tension....but rather to expose the fact that (white) people with more money get to focus on things like yoga and their dogs...people on the "lower end" (it was in the song) have to focus on gettin by...?

  • @themplskid He's criticizing his own people, dumbass

  • @themplskid and you apparently are not after that comment he didn't mean it to be racist

  • @themplskid

If you even had a racist comment its obvious how you actually feel.

Stay away from us if you dont like us...fool

  • real music

  • this guy is good role model for black people jay z and all those other fools r paid to misslead their own people but i guess evil always prevails

  • One great song that you will never hear on the POWER (clear channel) radio stations.

  • any1 have any news on the believer?

  • I'd like to see Lil Wayne make a tune with this much soul.

  • @iTzCeeJay lil wayne probably can he just needs to d.e.velop

  • @viva0las0vegas Hopefully, we shall see (:

  • @iTzCeeJay for him it would be impossible. commons on another level.

  • @iTzCeeJay you will never see that cuz lil wayne doesnt write his own shit. he just sits there chugging robotussin and getting his dick sucked. its disgusting.

  • @iTzCeeJay i belive kanye made this beat!

  • @iTzCeeJay Not a fuckin chance.

  • this is street radio for unsung hero, riding in the regal trying to stay legal

  • It's about the people! I agree everyone needs a second chance. Like MJ's song Man in the Mirror...instead of perpetuating the cycle of hate &saying this or that person deserves to die and harboring hate, if we utilize that second chance to really look at ourselves and reflect within instead of living a life damning others. If we grant ourselves the chance to change the people we are instead of molding the world into our desired image, would we not in fact change the world by changing ourselves?

  • my daughter found nemo...love that part!!!!

  • common has clear mind

    listen to his lyrics

  • "Sometimes we find peace in beats and breaks..." I love that line!

  • rock the vote

  • wow......great inspiring song

  • Yeah the rhyme is tight, but God bless Gil Scott -Heron for the sample too : )
