I must also stress, the calendar does end in 2012 however a new calender starts immediately after, this calendar represents the new stage of evolution, not the end of the Earth, but the end of this stage of human development. The "crouch" gene in herding dogs convinced me that there is indeed a genetic component to behavior. When a border collie herds sheep, they will crouch down in response to their "instinct". This is not a behavior that is commonly seen in retrievers, for example. It would be quite difficult to train a dog to do this.
