  • @ellampl48. As far as I know the murderers are in the Tenn. State Prison. I don't believe they were sentened to death but I hope someday they'll BURN in hell. Robbery and murder of an innocent man and his wife like this prooves what an evil world we live in.

  • Does anyone know if they ever found out who killed Stringbean and his wife?

  • one person doesn't understand talent when they see it......silly dislikers.....

  • What happened to the song Going to Hee Haw and make some money ?

  • "Please don't squeeze my Charmin"!!!!!

  • found a 2 CD set of string's music the other day, Barnyard Banjo Pickin'.

    it's a good 'un! i love stringbean!

    thanks for posting!

  • Almost as good on banjo as george fornby.

  • How sad that he and Estelle were murdered in 1973. He was one of a kind....RIP, David and Estelle.

  • Thanx god for Stringbean!

  • They dont make banjo players like that anymore- string was pure genius!! Thank God for sites like this to keep his name alive!!!

  • Thanks to good people like us, "Ole Strangs" memory will never die! Thanks for posting!

  • He could really make that Banjo smoke. What a talent he was!

  • THANK YOU for puting the DATE on this one. Hardly any one dates these.

  • There is only one Stringbean !! A delight to watch as an entertainer. Someone should put together a 60 minute doco on him, a la Bill Monroe. Any / all footage of him in action would be scooped up. His influence will last on & on - a legend. This song .. sounds like the basis for his Hee-Haw convulsion called " Me & My Old Crow". Or was it the other way around. Which version came first - can anyone please advise .. (please).

  • It's sad that a good person like this could be a victim of criminal act. You could just tell in his face that he is a very good person. I've been watching some of his songs on youtube and have really began to appreciate his talent to entertain. He was great...

  • String is the MAN!

May his killers rot in hell!!!

  • @BanjoThomas they did

  • Wow what a legend!!! String is and always will be bluegrass music

  • String,I miss you everyday!

  • wow, He is awesome and can you imagine the feeling to play on the Grand Ole Opry stage just once. wow that'd be awesome. just because of all the legends that once stood in the same spot.

  • Possibly the greatest entertainer to ever play on the Opry.

  • thanks for keeping ol strings memory alive, stringbean rocks!!!
