BTW, not that it matters, but I am Lutheran. As I have said before, Jews have been in Europe for so long, it's likely that anybody of European descent has at least some Jewish genetics. Some Israelis look European because they came from Europe. After living in Europe for > 2000 years the phenotype is going to be affected, even if there was little admixture. For example very fair blond and blue eyed.
BUT 50% of Israelis are NOT of European extraction. They never left the Levant or are from places other than Europe. They do not look European to me; perhaps more like Italian or Greek but not like Ashkenazi Jews. Regardless, at a genetic level they are very similar.

I'll try to find a particular source I saw that was very interesting about Jews in Lebanon, a long time ago. The entire region did not always have borders or countries names as it does now. Yes, "some" Khazar chiefs did convert to Judaism but they had in all likelihood, little or no contact with Ashkenazi Jews.

Yiddish contains some Hebrew & Aramaic words.

The IDF in 2006 gave a rather lackluster performance relying too much on air control. Times are changing and future battles will probably be waged differently. I would not say that the IDF had a decisive victory but look at the stats.

AND, the Israelis are usually the first on the scene to help in disaster situations. Haiti for example and now Japan. Search and rescue and medical AID. Some Israelis look European because they came from Europe. After living in Europe for > 2000 years the phenotype is going to be affected, even if there was little admixture. For example very fair blond and blue eyed.
BUT 50% of Israelis are NOT of European extraction. They never left the Levant or are from places other than Europe. They do not look European to me; perhaps more like Italian or Greek but not like Ashkenazi Jews. Regardless, at a genetic level they are very similar.

For a lebanese Christian (if you truly are), you have a hatred for Israel yet most of the Leb Christians (and Caldeans) I am aquatinted with like Israelis and are glad that Israel has helped them against the muslims fucking up Lebanon. The Israelis I know for the most part think the Christian Lebs are OK but the Syrians are another story.
Did you know that aramaic was the language used by many ppl of the Levant and that included the Jews. Jesus was Jewish and he spoke aramaic.

I'll try to find a particular source I saw that was very interesting about Jews in Lebanon, a long time ago. The entire region did not always have borders or countries names as it does now. I think genetically, the syrians, iraqis, lebanese, "original Jews", were all similar. They were al tribal ppl that mixed with each other. The Jews seemed to move forward and always progressed and the rest are for the most part backward. Sad.

The land now called Jordan is hashmemite so you re correct. BUT, it WAS part of Jewish land originally. The Brits partitioned off to the filthy arabs to appease them. In fact much more land was actually Jewish than what we see today. Southern Lebanon and Syria were originally Jewish lands too.

Tthe "original" Jews came from, it was Iraq & very likely they were Kurds. They then mixed with all sorts of other ppl. Jews were never arabs just as the Lebanese were never arabs but both group mixed with arabs AND each other etc.
As for Ashkenazi Jews they have ancient genetics common to Lebanese, Syrians etc & that cannot be removed from their blood but they have obviously changed phenotypically by virtue of living in Europe. They look European ... period.

There r other haplogroups that r known to be Hebrew, for example M35 ( the closest to the original Israelites).
As for Khazars; even if there r any Jews that are living descendent of Khazars, they r as Jewish as any other Jews. Judaism is a religion, not an ethnicity.
The Levant was NOT originally arabs at all. Rather, places like Lebanon were unfortunately conquered by arabs and "arabized".
Incidentally, the common language of the original Jews was Aramaic.

Finally, ALL Jews are equally Jewish. Just as ALL Catholics are equally Catholic and ALL protestants are equally Protestant. Genetics don't really matter when it comes to religion. But if you are speaking of Jews as descendants of the "original" Judeans from Israel, then you look at the genomes.
All I need to do to see if I have Jewish genetics is to take a genome test (which I intend to do). Many ppl are doing that these days.

U know nothing. First, Jews do not have "missions", they do not proselytize.
There were NEVER Ashkenazi's in Spain; those Jews were Sephardic. The Ashkenazi Jews originated in the Rhineland & spread EAST & NORTH from there.
Having said that, genetically speaking there is little difference between ANY of the Jewish ppl, unless they are descendants of pure converts like the Ethiopians. Phenotypically they differ but not if you examine the genomes.

The early German Jews were originally from Judea that came into Europe with Romans. Khazar's genetic influence on Ashkenazi Jews was minimal at best. If you look at genome studies, they prove the commonality of Jewish genetics (link to ME).
Ppl get hung up on phenotypes. Even the most lily white, blond, blue eyed Ashkenazi Jews (of which there r many) have the same genetics as the Mizrahi (Jews that never left the Levant).
Jewish Israelis r a mixture; 1/2 Mizrahi, 1/2 Ashkenazi.

Yiddish is not a dialect of German; it is a distinct language of it's own and very rich at that. It is similar to Schweizerdeutsch, Austrian German & Bavarian. Because of the isolation of the Jews in the Rhineland, their language morphed into it's own. As Jews migrated from west to east in to Slavic lands, they incorporated borrow words. Yiddish contains some Hebrew & Aramaic words.
Hebrew was only used in prayer & Yiddish was the mother tongue.
