I mean there's a few instances where guys would stop like Marquardt/Maia, but if you do stop and the guy isn't really out like Palhares/Miller you have to continue fighting. In reality the Ref tells you to stop and don't until he calls it. I blame the ref for the late stoppage.

@l3054 Well the thing is that they're told in the back not to stop until the ref tells them to stop. Some guys do stop but there are a lot more instances where the guy eats more shots, but it's all up to the ref. The Ref calls it. That's the only thing that matters. It may seem excessive the guy himself who's beating up a guy might even think it's excessive but it's all on the ref. They're fighting until the ref stops them.

They are employed by the state athletic commission and are in no way officially affiliated with Dana White, the UFC or the "boys upstairs." They get nothing for allowing a fight to be "exciting" at the expense of a fighter's safety; this was bad reffing, plain and simple.
