Dio, while having cancer, sang like a boss on the "devil you know" by heaven and hell, and he was 66 years old. The whole album is fuckin' great and so metal, and Dio's voice so powerfull.
The key to understanding Ronnie's singing ability is that I don't think he hardly ever used falsetto. A the beginning of this song I first thought maybe it was falsetto, but it is too full bodied. I think he could just easily sing much higher than most guys.

Dio was,is and forever will be the KING. no one will ever be able to match him for his singing , showmanship and persona. I saw him many times here in SanDiego and was blessed to meet him ( a memory I will always cherish ) and I was honored to be able to attend the memorial service and say my goodbyes. his music touched my soul like no other and he will live in my heart forever.

Dio, while having cancer, sang like a boss on the "devil you know" by heaven and hell, and he was 66 years old. The whole album is fuckin' great and so metal, and Dio's voice so powerfull.

The key to understanding Ronnie's singing ability is that I don't think he hardly ever used falsetto. A the beginning of this song I first thought maybe it was falsetto, but it is too full bodied. I think he could just easily sing much higher than most guys.

I'm convinced to date he was the best Rock singer in history. He could be singing beautiful tender melodies and in a split second switch to an intensity that could wake the dead. But both varieties were still very beautiful.
