Sunny is most definitely a very capable singer. Glad that more and more people are realizing this. Some people think that she has less singing parts in SNSD cuz she can't sing. Misconception!
Sunny the soprano :) Taeyeon mentioned somewhere that Sunny has the highest notes in the group. She can even do the super high falsettos. 2 weaknesses though... control and low notes.
I really don't recognize their voice 'cause I'm not a fan but some parts give me goosebumps. Especially that high note on the first chorus. Is that Sunny?
A very nice song, and a very nice cover by Fany and Sunny.
Fany was splendid. Sunny did well enough, but I personally don't think she's suitable for solos. Her voice is too thin and lacks depth, but she can carry gentle high notes which really makes her perfect for harmony which is what she should do more of. Like choose songs where she is purposely put in that vocal position. In fact, Fany shold try this pure solo and Sunny back her up with harmony especially at the chorus and bridge.
@SGtwelfmunkis Well this is just my opinion. Out of SNSD, I like listening to Sunny's voice the most. Also Sunny has a very much present soprano voice, which is probably lacks the depth that you are looking for. But if you ask me, Sunny is better at hitting lower notes than SNSD 2nd main vocalist Jessica.
@Ohimesama1f Well, from this viewpoint, I'd say I like listening to voices in the best place. Sunny has a great voice, just perhaps not good enough to carry this tune, or match Fany's vocal strength. The best example showcasing Sunny's voice would be SNSD's 별별별 (Star x3), which is the support vocals. She also gets a chorus solo line which is repeated by Sica at the end. The first chorus is gentle, the final chorus literally blazing. Suffice to say that I would not swap their solo lines.
@SGtwelfmunkis I wouldn't swap their vocal lines either. Each of the their lines are conformed to their voice types.I'm saying that Sunny is better at lower notes, than Jessica. But in Jessica's defense she is better at hitting higher notes. They are both have amazing voices, I wouldn't want change their position in the group.
You know maybe I misunderstanding what you are saying...^_^;;
@Ohimesama1f Lol what? Sunny is better at hitting low notes than Jessica? How is that possible knowing Jessica's vocal weight is heavier than Sunny (since Jess is a mezzo while Sunny is soprano)? Correct me if Im wrong but a person with heavier vocal weight can hit low notes better than a lighter one. Sunny's lowest note is a E3 which was weak, airy and quiet while Jessica's lowest note was a D3 which was way heavier and less airy.
@hzgg12 Don't worry, I have educated myself, and no longer think that. You think Jessica is a mezzo, in my head she is a Soprano, she has vocal range of a Soprano, she is just on the heavier end on it, or maybe who know she is probably boarder line. But definitely, sunny is Soprano.
@Ohimesama1f Hmm I disagree with Jessica being a soprano. You don't judge voice type based on vocal range. You judge it by vocal weight, tessitura, vocal agility and vocal color. Jessica's voice is not light enough for a soprano. Her tessitura is F3-D5 as she struggles above D5 which is what most mezzos have problem with. Her vocal color does not have a soprano tone either. It's sometimes deep so I assume mezzo.
@hzgg12 Yeah, Jess's voice is somewhat on the lower side of the scale, but Mezzos seem to better with lower notes more so than highers while Jessica is the other way around, I think she does better with higher notes. But I see where you are coming from, her voice is low, and it isn't light and airy like most Sopranos, so I think Mezzo is OK to put her in, she does sound very much like a Mezzo in sweet delight.

Mi sings this beautifully... since I already heard 4Men's and Mi's renditions, this sounds just so-so.... the notes are really high though... so props for that
it was okay, they had a difficult time reaching and sustaining those high notes though. the original was very emotional, they didn't manage to convey any of it.
fany and sunny really can sing. This is the evidence! I am proud of them. <3
