@LiamCell oh....i get it now....missed some commas in the first attempt...not trying to be a grammar police but couldn't understand it on the first try....
@PyramidHead2000 Absolutely! I've been a fan of his work before he was in 'Scanners' and although the film/s/ may not be all big budget epics like 'Total Recall' & 'Starship Troopers'; he and Clancy Brown were the only real actors in that one. I heard a rumor awhile back that there were talks of a Splinter Cell film starring Keifer Sutherland!?!?! Lord only knows what kind of drugs those idiots were on. You just can't replace an actor like Ironside, impossible to even try.
@AftComet On IMDB it says: Has had a love of reading since childhood, with which he credits his father instilling in him: "My dad gave me and my brother this rule - as long as we were reading and doing nothing else, we could stay up until dawn or until we passed out...whichever came first. That's why, to this day, I'm a sucker for a good book".
Exactly. Take games for instance. That could be a great bonding (especially multiplayer gaming) between parents and their kids. But parents just choose to use them as a babysitter.
got all the games on gamecube fixing to finish up chaos theory and play double agent i know im way to late but when you work 10 hours a day and do other things it kinda gets in the way and i take my time
you know thats reall cool, If they make a movie on Splinter Cell, Michael Ironside could play the part of Fisher, I mean look at them, both are in their fifies ( Ironside- 58 Fisher- 51) and besides they have the same voive ( well duhh ), it would be hevk of a movie, or even if he is not in the movie, he should still do Sam's voice, even if somone ele is playing the character of Sam, Ironside rocks, and so does Fisher!
Primarly because Solid snake was origionally voiced my Akio Ohtsuka in all the MGS games so far, therefore Hayter does not have to give much thought to Snakes personality as long as my bases it off of Ohtsuka's previous work.
Furthermore, Ironside feels the need to, not only create, but become the personality he is acting. He mentions in various interviews that he remains in character in between takes so there is no change happening during the lunch break between takes 1 and 2.
I'm not saying anything about Hayter lacking talent. The fact that he's voice acted in the entire MGS series is testimant to his skill, and not his lack-thereof. I'm just saying that Ironside had to create Fisher's personality from scratch, and that earns my vote for better voice actor.
I gotta point out that the clip they showed was titled incorrectly. They showed pandora tomorrow not the first game

Now why couldn't David Hayter do interviews like these?
Monochrome89 4 years ago
because Hayter is doesn't have have the artistic talent of Ironside
Testocules 3 years ago 4
why do you say that?
Monochrome89 3 years ago
Primarly because Solid snake was origionally voiced my Akio Ohtsuka in all the MGS games so far, therefore Hayter does not have to give much thought to Snakes personality as long as my bases it off of Ohtsuka's previous work.
Furthermore, Ironside feels the need to, not only create, but become the personality he is acting. He mentions in various interviews that he remains in character in between takes so there is no change happening during the lunch break between takes 1 and 2.
Testocules 3 years ago
so basically your' saying that hayter just turnsit on and turns it off when need be, he's just a voice and not really the character.
Monochrome89 3 years ago
NO, I saying Hayter bases his work off the personality created by Ohtsuka, while Ironside needed to create Sam Fisher from the ground up.
Testocules 3 years ago
I don't think that's enough reason to judge Hayter as lacking in artistic talent.
verhallt 3 years ago
I'm not saying anything about Hayter lacking talent. The fact that he's voice acted in the entire MGS series is testimant to his skill, and not his lack-thereof. I'm just saying that Ironside had to create Fisher's personality from scratch, and that earns my vote for better voice actor.
Testocules 3 years ago 3
Okay, then. But I still don't think that David simply bases his work off of Ohtsuka. If anything, he's been successful in recreating Snake.
However, I wouldn't know who to vote for between Hayter and Ironside. I find them both equally talented.
verhallt 3 years ago
If they could put some life into those mo-cap CGI movies, then we could see a Splinter Cell movie with Ironside doing the voice.
NeroBlack2200 4 years ago
There must be the technology to do that voiceover. It would be a first? For the same language?
