Stupendously beautiful!

DFD's diction and control of the melodic line is something to marvel at. One can really appreciate the genius of Schubert. Also, the genius of Liszt, for his version for solo piano captures the spirit to perfection - at least when played well.

endlich eine richtig GUTE version von dem lied.... fischer-dieskau is bis jetzt in meiner suche der einzige, der auch wirklich das lied und dessen dynamik sowie stimmung verstanden hat. alle weiblichen interpreten des liedes bis jetzt verstehen die bezeichnung PIANO nicht und rattern die "wellen" wie stufen runter. und seine vokalformung ist auch echt schön. mir gefällt diese version sehr.

What a great combination of artists: Schubert, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Gerald Moore, and the many wonderful painters you've chosen, all of them doing great justice to the poetry of Friedrich Leopold, Graf zu Stolberg-Stolberg (1750-1819). Yes, Monet; a few Russian painters; another French artist [Fauvist] named Othon Friesz; & Winslow Homer [American]. With French painters, there are so many to choose from! I just chose the paintings randomly to go with the text. I am not too knowledgable in visual arts - I mainly know music. Thank u for commenting!!
