We're LESS than 10 years from a full human brain simulation on a computer, and shortly after we can do that, we'll fully understand how it works, by tweaking it and playing with that simulated brain. But AI may not even have to wait for us to full understand biological brains. Systems like Watson, within this next decade, will be able to intelligently solve problems, far faster and better than us. As for crysis scenarios, no, just no. lol

Sure, we'll eventually hit the limit of silicon, but that's not the end-limit of these technologies. There are plenty of other materials lined up to take it's place, which will preform even better.
