  • I just bought and took home his book "Chord Melody and Beyond". Currently studying and I'm having an excellent time getting through it! I've been wanting to get into chord melody for years!! His book is the absolute best!! Thank you Howard Morgan!!

  • Wow!....and again Wow!

  • Exactly the kind of jazz I hate. Yet I have to admit that the dynamic play that Morgen did at the beginning of the song was a fine example of mastership..

  • Killin'!

  • waw man ! nice version

  • Nice inventive playing. Thanks.

  • Very cool arrangement. Great playing.

  • Hello Mr Morgen,

your Fingerboard breakthrough is the best learning course I ever experienced. It improved my playing as well as my teaching tremendously. I hope the word is correct...many thanks and respect,

    Florian Seyfarth

  • Howard, I just got your "Fingerboard Breakthrough" video from Truefire. I can never thank you enough! I have a room full of guitar instruction videos. Yours is absolutely the best I ever seen! I've learned more in the last two weeks than I did in the previous two years! Thank you so much!

  • Howard i took a course with you at the new school years ago do you still teach? How would one get in touh with you?

  • Wow, you are a phenomenal jazz player. Great work.

  • Thank you for that and I love your sound and very sensitive performance of Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, one of my favorite tunes! Happy Holidays, Howard

  • This is amazing, man.

  • Thanks for the comment. It's a fun tune to do....so many possibilities.

    Howard

  • Definitely. Almost every version of caravan, be it played by Chet Atkins, Duke, or Hiromi have been different. It can be interpreted in so many different ways, which is why it's one of my favorite tunes.

    :)

Thank you for your comment. It's hard to go wrong with Ellington.

    Howard

  • The original Caravan is a one chorus arrangement. For the video, I've played two choruses and the second chorus is an improv on the original changes. The A7 chord is the first change of the songs release The entire arrangement appears in this month's JJG mag.

    Best regards, Howard

  • Is it just me or is this version a lot differenet than the one in your book? Not in the main Bm7 E9 part but in the swing part. I see the swing part in your book starting with an E9 chord on the swing, but in this version you use an A7 chord during the swing part. I'm actually having trouble hearing the melody out when i'm playing the swing part that's written in the book.

  • Hi there Howard, got your Duke Ellington book, and your work there was fantastic, you play so wonderfuly.

  • Thanks for your comment. It's good to be included in that crowd.of some of my favorite ploayers.

    Howard

  • Rowf! I just ordered your book. I'm on this weird progression from John McLaughlin & Steve Morse, sideways to Danny Gatton & Scotty Anderson, backwards to Chet, and now back forward to this & Ted Green & Martin Taylor. I need more years tacked on....

  • Thanks John, More coming. Stay tuned.

    Best regards, Howard

  • Hey Howard,

I haven't listened to this one before. Sounds wonderful. Hope all is well with you. John A.

  • I own four Jimmy Foster seven stringers and a Robert Ruck classical seven string. Based on the quality of Eastman guitars, I'm sure that your Eastman seven string will be a winner although I have not had the opportunity of playing one to this date.

    Howard

  • I can see that you love playing your Eastman 6 string its in all your videos. I have 2 eastman 6 strings and i am going to get a 7 string. I am a bit suprised not to see you with an eastman 7 string. Have you got/tried the Eastman 7 string?

  • Yes it's an Eastman 905 and I love it.

    Howard

  • Is That an Eastman

  • Great!!!

    Martin

  • Thanks for the comment

    Best regards,

    Howard

  • Astounding Howard! Do you use fingerpicks or just your own nails? Wonderful arrangement and playing! bob

  • Thanks for the compliment. I don't use fingerpicks but I do use false nails because my nails are naturally weak.

    Howard

  • Thank you again Frank and for all the support you've given me and so many other musicians over the years. You heal the body and the soul and your spirit and great enthusiasm is a blessing to the world!

    Howard
