Do immigrants to UK get priority for housing? (17Mar10)

I've found a way round this system, take yourself off the list and then reapply. This time put white other and muslim in the ethnic monitoring field. 2 of my friends have tried it and they both got council houses within 3 weeks. Both of them were on the list for nearlly 10 years. I tried it myself and was also offered a prime location appartment but declined the offer because I was worried about getting caught. I suppose if you wanted to do it legally you could convert to Islam.

in my town over the past 5 years i worked on 3 new build housing estates. most of them houses have gone to the polish and russian immigrants. plus they also been getting grants to furnish the houses and been getting £300 put on their gas and electric meters. oh not to mention they getting a grant for a deposit to buy the houses. im private renting because i cant afford to buy, why cant the goverment do this for me too?

My daughter ( who works & has 1 child ) was offered two large 3 bedroom houses which she turned down due to being to large' however her last offering was a even larger 3 b/room house ( which had been converted from 2 flats into one house ) she was forced to take this one or remain homeless , meanwhile smaller 2 b/room homes in better areas were kept for immigrants

Open borders and expansion of money supply have increased property prices. If property prices were at a free market equalibrium and the government weren't stealing 50+ % of our income, that family would in all probability be able to afford to buy their own house, then there would be no need for state owned housing at all. There are enough concerned natives who want to see the demographics change in this country to provide attractive financial incentives for these people to leave. It would have to be done on a voluntary basis, both in terms of donors and recipients but it is possible to resolve this amicably. Also, if they dissolved the welfare state there would be less incentive for people to come here in the first instance.

The economy in essence needs to detox and rebuild based upon productivity and real savings. The housing bubble grew and burst precisely because of state intervention and central banking so no printing money out of thin air is definitely a bad idea. The idea that the Fed not printing money caused the depression is a myth.

Also, the main issue of the current bust was derivatives. The easy credit conditions had nothing to do with banks making sub-prime loans, fraudulent AAA ratings, Credit Default Swaps, and speculation. That was all the market at work my friend!
