dude am I being a good buddist if I invade countries and steal from them? Is it ok if I make up reasons like weapons of mass destruction and the UN etc all agree with me? There is no 1 power God and God can be kill by the other God through time. For example: Zues was a God that people really believe in and they kill him becuz of Christain. When times come, Christain will be die out too by the other God that people believe.

Actually even in Theravadian, we recite the name of past Buddhas! I can't recall what is the Sutta's name, it's about 20 over past Buddhas! Your Archarya is from Thailand or Myanmar?
Maybe there were other "buddhas" before Siddhartha Gautama but if they have reached Nervana already what good is it to pray to them? Only you can be your own Buddha. It is from the inside not from the outside.

Please check this matter with your own root Guru.

Everything we do now is just small steps towards Enlightenment,everything we have was of our previous Karma,if there is no past Buddha, there is no current Buddha.Reciting Sutra, or Buddhas' name is not enough, and it will never be enough, just read the stories of Buddha Sakymuni's past lifes you will know, what we all are doing is just too little as compare to Him and so as to all past Buddhas!

But what you didn't know is through 40-50 years of lord Siddhatha's teaching, he emphasized that by reciting in the name of the great buddha, Amitabha. You're free from the cycle of death and reincarnation. Go check it out on the wikipedia and you'll see what I mean.
Johnsec says he is Theravada, the older forms did not have the Mantra's like Tibetan and certain Esoteric Chinese and Japanese sects do. Most Theravada do not recognize the texts that came in the in the start of the common era and later.
He never recited any name,.what good does recitation of names bring? He said "Atahi Atano Natho" or "self is self's help" which means prayers wont take you anywhere. The type of Buddhism in which East Asia and Tibet practice came much later. Theravada Buddhism is the only doctrinal and unchanged type of Buddhism, what emperor Ashoka would have wanted.
I believed there are some ways to end the cycle of birth. One easiest way I know of is reciting lord Amitabha name. By doing so, you can be born into the pure land after death and the best part is, there is no endless of happiness.

I think you're wrong in this one, if there will never be another Buddha, then siddharthas teaching was superfluous, nobody knows if somebody will attain enlightenment. Also it commonly accepted that Maitreya Buddha is the next. but I do agree with you in the above, regarding recitation and whether or not it can lead to salvation, obviously it can't!
Ariakokoschka, we can't do anyting now with such a minor intelligent at our current stage. But once you reach the status of a buddha, you'll make a lot of different. don't you know that once you become a buddha, you can descend to earth and disguise as a human and nobody'll notice you. With a suffient intelligent, you can make a difference.

At that time Prince Siddharta make a great scarifice by abandoning his family just want to find the path that can leads uncountable senteint beings to Nirvana and out of Samsara! yes they are GODS, but not necessarly the same, they both have different teachings and beliefs just like the rest of the religious figures in the world. plus BUDDAH WAS BORN WAY BEFORE JESUS. yes indeed we are ONE, only our cultures and beliefs are different, but thats what makes us UNIQUE.

There is no 1 power God and God can be kill by the other God through time. For example: Zues was a God that people really believe in and they kill him becuz of Christain. When times come, Christain will be die out too by the other God that people believe.

I won't said dead, He has return to Nirvana! Of course bad hearted people won't attain Buddhahood if he don't change. Many Buddhas make sense, you just check with your Guru, Buddha Sakyamuni already said, there is not just 1 world here, the Buddhist always talk about Universe not just our very own world! Just imagine how big the universe is! And how many sentient beings out there!

Actually even in Theravadian, we recite the name of past Buddhas! I can't recall what is the Sutta's name, it's about 20 over past Buddhas! Your Archarya is from Thailand or Myanmar?

Maybe there were other "buddhas" before Siddhartha Gautama but if they have reached Nervana already what good is it to pray to them? Only you can be your own Buddha. It is from the inside not from the outside.

John,you're right that we have to depend on our own effort to attain Buddhahood.But at the same time we also take refuge to the Buddha,Dharma & Sangha.That's why Buddhists always recite Buddham Saranam Gacchami(I thee take refuge to the Buddha,Dhamman Saranam Gacchami&Sangham Saranam Gacchami for 3 times.When we pray to Buddha Sakyamuni,we actually pray to all Buddhas,so as vice-versa. Please check this matter with your own root Guru.

but praying will not help, yes i do pray.. yes i pray in pali.. yes i know what i am saying (gachami actually means i go lol) and i can read write sanskrit and pali but tell me if a mass murderer will attain any spiritual development by just praying to things that never existed or dont exist anymore? ie.. the multitude of "buddhas"

According to the Dharma,no matter who you are you will attain Buddhahood.Of course when you are a mass murderer,it's difficult for you to attain Buddhahood within this life time, but remember,Angulimala achieved Arhathood!If Buddha Sakyamuni was not there to help the Elder Angulimala,he could have been reborn in Avici after that life cycle!

Everything we do now is just small steps towards Enlightenment,everything we have was of our previous Karma,if there is no past Buddha, there is no current Buddha.Reciting Sutra, or Buddhas' name is not enough, and it will never be enough, just read the stories of Buddha Sakymuni's past lifes you will know, what we all are doing is just too little as compare to Him and so as to all past Buddhas!

To me, it seems to betray the movie, not being like the movie music or related to the movie's topic. Granted, there's nothing wrong with departing creatively to show something in a new light, but this *is lacking words*. It's creative, but it just doesn't mesh well.

I strongly disagreed with what JohnSecadisima said. You only watched this simple video and came to your conclusion. But what you didn't know is through 40-50 years of lord Siddhatha's teaching, he emphasized that by reciting in the name of the great buddha, Amitabha. You're free from the cycle of death and reincarnation. Go check it out on the wikipedia and you'll see what I mean.

Johnsec says he is Theravada, the older forms did not have the Mantra's like Tibetan and certain Esoteric Chinese and Japanese sects do. Most Theravada do not recognize the texts that came in the in the start of the common era and later.

He never recited any name,.what good does recitation of names bring? He said "Atahi Atano Natho" or "self is self's help" which means prayers wont take you anywhere. The type of Buddhism in which East Asia and Tibet practice came much later. Theravada Buddhism is the only doctrinal and unchanged type of Buddhism, what emperor Ashoka would have wanted.

I believed there are some ways to end the cycle of birth. One easiest way I know of is reciting lord Amitabha name. By doing so, you can be born into the pure land after death and the best part is, there is no endless of happiness.

NOOOO, Im a Theravada, that way is against his teaching, there was only 1 Siddhartha, he died, it was over, there was never and ther will never be another Buddha, he was not a god, he was man, like you and me, and he died. You cannot be released from the cycle of birth just be reciting something. You start from inside, you act it out. You be the change! lol

John & Chanmenh,both of you are right &wrong.I understand that Theravadian do not bow to others except Buddha Sakyamuni for us to take refuge to. Buddha Amitabha is said to be one of a past Buddha introduced Buddha Sakyamuni according to Mahayana Sect.Anyway, There is no way 3 of us can understand the complexity that never being solve for more than 2000 years!Just recite whatever you want,let meet in Nirvana 1 day! & Whoever reach there 1st please be kind enough to help the less fortunate!

I think you're wrong in this one, if there will never be another Buddha, then siddharthas teaching was superfluous, nobody knows if somebody will attain enlightenment. Also it commonly accepted that Maitreya Buddha is the next. but I do agree with you in the above, regarding recitation and whether or not it can lead to salvation, obviously it can't!

Ariakokoschka, we can't do anyting now with such a minor intelligent at our current stage. But once you reach the status of a buddha, you'll make a lot of different. don't you know that once you become a buddha, you can descend to earth and disguise as a human and nobody'll notice you. With a suffient intelligent, you can make a difference.

Just one question, why were your god and other as well had a bad karma, they died very brutally, no body can bear such pain, he did, great job, .And one more thing , he was born in poor family as well, and in his whole life , he was living in fearful situation , scary Rome soldiers were so anxious with him and killed him. Buddha had many occasion to get died , but he had not died, his good karma saved him for spreading his love and knowledge. So buddha is not god, but how can jesus be a god.

The buddha actually put a bowl on the river. If the bowl goes in the other direction of the water flow, meaning that he would finally have enlightenment.

Excellent works, thank you for uploading. The film was a little bit like a documentary. By watching the film, we could understand the birth of one of the most important religions of all times.
