  • "We got a doctor pushing for the free market. We're better than that" what a retard

  • We're a better country than that? Because the (soon to be extinct) middle class and the rich pay for the healthcare and general welfare of the 50% of American's who don't pay taxes and those who do not even look for a job, but rather collect minimum wage and food stamps. Not to mention the 20-30 million illegal aliens who also receive free healthcare. We're better than that because we don't want to pay for all this? Get real.

  • Owning health insurance is a choice, just like smoking cigarettes, eating fatty food, not exercising, drinking too much alcohol etc etc etc. The free market is too busy fighting the forces that would bring it down, like we have now. Health insurance companies love it the way it is now. They can charge exorbitant rates and not have to insure 50,000,000. If there was a free market, and more competition, people wouldn't have to pay $1500 a month for health insurance.Should food be free?

  • Ed Shultz would do anything to keep poor people poor forever. He would do anything to get Obama re-elected including turn over the country to the Fed and Wall st.

  • When Ron Paul was asked, should we just let him die... HE SAID NO. Did they not catch that??? The question was also phrased as the man COULD afford health insurance but CHOSE not to. They didn't phrase it as he COULDN'T afford it... Which is why almost everyone isn't insured... I know when I turn 26 and can't be covered by my moms insurance anymore, there's no way I will get health insurance because with all my goddamn student loans I CANT AFFORD IT. And dental? Yeah right!! So fucking expensiv

  • Alan Grayson, along with Dennis Kucinich, who is still in congress, was one of the only lawmakers who had a free mind and wasn't a slave to the corporations. I dearly hope that he's able to get back into congress. We need him!

  • HNK222 Well said! As long as the Xian virus of stuck on stupid hypocrites spreads Dark Ages 2!

  • America has lost its soul. I wish Alan Would run for president

Truth is the cure for the dis-eased traitors.

  • 12 thumbs down... how very sad.

  • F*ck Ron Paul. He practiced as a doctor?? Where is his compassion? F***ing Hypocrite.

  • I just don't understand the reason for this debate. Here in New Zealand we have universal health care. It provides for everyone on a case by case basis (wait list for certain operations), tho in the main you are admitted immediately should you need health care however everyone is free to have their own health cover an opt for a private hospital.

In the case of accident cover, every job pays a levy weighted on the danger associated with that job.

Its so simple, how can these idiots not see that

  • @philthy122 The reason for the Healthcare debate in America is b/c we have amoral politicians known as "Christian Conservatives". They despise EVERY tenet of Christianity and get sexually aroused at the pain and suffering of others. In about a month, these same amoral shit stains will start screaming about a "War on Christmas" b/c they laughably content that Jesus Christ & Christmas are extremely important.

The Palins, Bachmanns, Perry's, Bush's, and Ron Paul's are ALL morally bankrupt scum!

  • @HNK222 tho i have heard if you add up all of their IQ's it would be equal that of Einstein!

  • There's a huge difference between "society" and "government"! SOCIETY includes charity! If you want to help that 30 year old that doesn't have insurance, donate to a charity that's helping him! This entire idea about GOVERNMENT is the ONLY option is just ridiculous and wrong.

Government help = forced charity, which isn't really charity at all... is it.

  • Society should let you let him die.

  • soylent green is one way to feed a nation. Maybe this is what will happen to you if you dont have health insurance.

  • idiots

  • The logical enforcer is being human! and most people are , Second It does cut it because I have done it for 47 years and so has most people with faith you must be very young and know it all but do nothing please go out and help someone and not wait for someone else to do it ! that will be you first lesson

  • @ekjohndeer No, it doesn't cut it. You think that helping people for 47 years (though I'm not sure to what capacity you have done so) on your own is enough to significantly curve Human suffering? And how young do you think I am? You're the one sitting there all stary eyed about a utopian ideal of a nation where everyone is capable and/or willing to help everyone in need. Again history refutes you. Before government public aids, mortality rates were higher across the board.

  • Pro-life, until your born!!

  • @Wordavee1 The murder of an individual is not comparable to the ommission of care. Omission of care is immoral in its own right but there is a big difference between actually commiting a murder and allowing someone to die. Pro life and pro choice are pretty meaningless outside the abortion issue. If an individual supports abortion but also taxation are they still pro-choice?

  • Does Ron Paul know how drastically the price of incense, holy water, and leeches has increased since he practiced medicine?! And forget about hiring an exorcist these days. They won't even talk to you unless you pay them gold up front!

  • What are taxes for again!! No social welfare, wow, that is f_cked up!

  • The sad part is that no one said they wanted the person to die quickly. I'm sure that it wouldn't make a difference if it would be a long or a short road to death. It is someone else, so why care? It seems they should support abortion, since they would want to take care of people after they are born.

  • Blade Runner reference. Fuck yeah.

  • Ron Paul's former campaign manager still has 365k in medical bills leftover from the illness that eventually killed him.

  • Society must take care of its weak, is what - in literal definition - makes us better then animals.

  • So funny. I've made this exact comparison before. I was reading the book when Sotomayor was nominated. It was funny, because Obama wanted to have a nominee with empathy. The RW made fun of the quality of empathy. I couldn't help but make the exact same comparison that he makes here.

  • gimme a break....to even ponder the subject has been met with immediate indignance (we saw what happened to poor Dr Kevorkian over assisted suicide)....millions of people with no health insurance and they have no income to be able to buy health insurance (especially with the job situation as it is). We are already seeing defiant government haters having long periods of care after not wearing a safety helmet in motorcycle crashes. They usually shut up about the government after that....

  • I would so vote for Grayson if I lived in the US.

  • So it's ok to let them die of starvation or exposure in the streets but not from illness? How hypocritical.

  • Empathy for scumbags on death row that have committed crimes bad enough to be sentenced to death??!! REALLY???!!!

The scumbags on death row deserve to die!!!! Texas has an express lane which I wish other states had.

  • They convicted by God, I hope you know. There is a large percentage of the convicted who are innocent - proven. The death penalty is for people who care more about quick justice, than justice.

  • @wbmarquand Well either way.....it's justice served!

  • @nextdrink45 "...[they]... deserve to die...."

I guess that probably is what is going through the head of a murderer before he kills his victims.....

If you would have said that perpetraitors unfortunately should be executed to prevent further crimes, I would maybe consider your argument, but apparently the thing you seem to be most concerned about is revenge for a crime from which you personally weren't even affected.

  • @DeletedDelusion Sorry, am a rule of law kind of guy. If someone commits a crime serious enough to be sentenced to death for, the he/she deserves to fulfill their sentence. That is of course after the allotted appeals they are entitled to have been exhausted. If they are still found guilty, like the turkey these two idiots are talking about, then straight to the chair to ride the lightning as far as I'm concerned!!! Just wish more states did it as quickly as Texas does!!

  • @nextdrink45 Glad to hear that you are a rule of law kind of guy, that is only sensible.

I would say though that the rule of law is a human product and therfore not safe from errors and shortcomings. The rule of law should represent our best knowledge, since human knowledge isn't static it might be called for to regularly reconsider certain aspects of the code of law.

I think at the moment from both a utilitarian and ethical point of view, the death penalty is very hard to defend.

  • @nextdrink45 continued:

Form a emotional point of view I do understand your felings, I get irritated by reports about hidious crimes too. There is this urge that crimes must get rectified.

While I think these emotions are natural and might sometimes be useful, I do think that maybe more often then not they stand in the way of rational recognitions of real problems and their solutions.

Texas while makeing frequent use of capital punishment does not have a perticularly now crime rate.

  • Charity works leave them to charity, do not just let the man dies, you should report to groups that asist these porr people, there are groups that assist the low income with medical expenses and cost.

They will definitely do a good job!

It is clear not the job of the government. Its not the moral value of the government. but the citizents, for those who said let him die, I hope the person is you!!!

  • what would jesus do?

    LET HIM DIE!

  • this is biased. Essentially Ron Paul was talking about the unsustainability of the Welfare State. It used to work due to he baby boomers now the society has changed. State sponsored welfareism was a weak political decision to win elections and not a sustainable policy.

  • @qortin I beg to differ really quite strongly. I come from a country that has had a welfare state for over 5o years and you know what? We're not bankrupt (not any more than the rest of the world anyway), we're still a world power (in fact we're the country your country runs to every time you need help in a war) and every person in this country knows that they will not be left to suffer and die because they haven't got money. Frankly to most of Europe the idea of not having an NHS is hideous.

  • @GriffinPilgrim and which country is this?

  • @qortin Britain. The always-comes-to-us-in-a-war thing was the clue. (BTW, I'm not having a go at America as a whole, just this aspect. Get that out the way).

  • @qortin I am not American man, however Britian got 1 trillion pounds debt, which baisically is dead weight. I am not contesting anything even my country Malta is deep in debt, frankly what the governments do is bribe the low earning class, me included (i am still a student) while granting million pound projects to some filthy contractor in the middle of a recession while increasing taxes on working families and deflating the currency. All i wish for is a better future for me and my future kids.

  • Wait a minute, no one takes into account WHY health care is so expensive. Government subsidies and regulations drive health care prices up. You can't go to the ER without getting a bill for $1,000. By law they have to treat anyone regardless of insurance coverage. So they charge everyone more to cover the loss. If you go to your general practitioner the same visit will only cost $50.

It's not gov's place.to provide anything other than security. Any time gov gets involved the price skyrockets

  • @deadman12078 yea....and as the debate continues ron paul even states that doctors back in his days would give people breaks on payment for people who couldn't afford much, yet it cut that out.

  • @cheeto165 People make bad decisions. Some people don't eat properly or exercise or drink/smoke. The man who was in the motorcycle accident is a good example. No health insurance... maybe his friends and family or charitable organization would help him if the state would not do so or he would pass away. Should it be mandated that all person buy life insurance?

It is not right to force everyone pay higher prices for services. Doing so increases costs making it that much harder for everyone

  • @deadman12078 Shouldnt the government force an individual to purchase insurance to keep the cost of healthcare down? Free market economics does not apply to healthcare if it did your care would be cheaper than other western nations. You do have some government programs but your system is more market based than any other in the west.

  • Ron Paul is a creationist, why should I be surprised that he is also a stupid selfish blind man?

  • @ChristianIce

tumb down X1000 by now you should get this results, too bad youtube remove the count of thub down, Ha ha ha.

    Thumb down and for you.

  • @LeeKwangEng

    "tumb down X1000"

LOL, go back playing COD kid.

  • They don't care about the candidates answer, they focus on 3 loud idiots in the crowd. This isn't news.

  • Comment removed

  • Someone needs to put these news corps out to pasture.

  • As it sounded to me, part of audience actually had fun about Republican moron, applauding to his epic stupidity.

  • /watch?v=1Tstpu5mDEI. for ron paul's full response.

FUCK YOU By cutting RON PAUL OFF!!!!!

    Shame on you!!!

Ha Ha Ha, you are a propaganda Machine, everyone knows that!

    Trying the same tricks again!

  • @LeeKwangEng The clip clearly shows Ron Paul saying "No." before the audience screams "YEAH!" That is the central theme of the report, that the tea party activists actually do think they should let the hypothetical man die. While Ron Paul has a solution, many within the audience apparently think this solution is frivolous. NBC should've run a clarification at some point, but the central theme of the segment is still valid. Although it's possible there was a secondary effort to defame Paul.

  • (2/2) He would also allow them to import drugs from other countries at lower prices. He has called for health savings accounts that allow for tax-free savings to be used to pay for prescriptions.

Go get the facts for yourself! Ron Paul is a doctor! He has no intention of throwing any sick individual under the bus. He's a strict defender of life! Do you honestly think his intention is to just let sick people die in the street without having a replacement solution planned out?

    Idiots.

  • (1/2) Absolutely pathetic. They're panicking because Ron Paul's popularity is increasing, so they try to make Ron Paul out to look like he lacks compassion. Look how many of you are buying into it.

Ron rejects universal health care, believing that the more government interferes in medicine, the higher prices rise & the less efficient care becomes. He would support a tax credit for senior citizens who need to pay for costly prescription drugs.

  • this makes it look like ron paul said they should die. what they dont show is that ron paul said NOBODY should get turned away there should just be different means of paying for it besides the govmt. but still these tea party people for the most part are just dumbasses.

  • love Alan. won't vote for ANYONE unless it's Grayson ever again. screw spineless Obama and the rest

  • Check out Tzu Chi Organization, they are a world wide charity and respect life is their policy.

Let them do their work. Not the government's job!

  • Evil shit...

  • "I think we are a better country than that." If you were you wouldn't have the problem.

The US is a democracy, its people have the right to express their opinion not only in free speech but at the ballot box. If they really believed in the principles of fairness, equality etc they could easily make themselves heard, not just in opinion poles, but in electoral poles. They have not done so.

  • Sorry, that should be "... not just in opinion polls, but in electoral polls."

  • No empathy = Sociopath

    Just say it man.

  • @Thayer79 I wouldn't use the word. Those people have an absolute need for society, they just won't admit it. In the "wild" they would not stand a chance. There's no profit there, and no inherited welfare. They inherited civilization, and now they spit on the concept.

So no, they love society as a tool, they just hate people.

  • We should institute the death penalty for Tea Baggers.....everyone in that audience should be put on death row...they are after all bigoted criminals and traitors to the constitution.

  • @Buhma So, just to be clear, you are so upset that about 2 people in the audience approved of letting a hypothetical man die, that you want to impose the death penalty on everyone in the Tea Party and everyone in that audience -- real people. That about right?

At least you got one thing right: you separated the Tea Party and the members of that audience into 2 different groups. Ed says that the shouters were TP members, but he doesn't know that. Wants everyone to believe it though.

  • @Buhma For the benefit of all on this thread, here is what Buhma posted in a personal message to me. Don't know why he did not post it here. Perhaps he was too embarrassed to be viewed as this message shows him to be.

"To be clear...all people who are Tea party members wether they shouted out or not are traitors and should be treated as such. "

  • @InvestigatorDave I thought I was posting in in public replying to your question.. Yes....Tea Party members INCLUDING YOU...should be charged with treason and I consider your traitors to the United States...is that clear enough for you?

  • @Buhma Thought you were posting in public. Well, that's another thing you're wrong about, isn't it?

I am pretty sure we've never met, so don't know why you are declaring me a TP member. Care to provide evidence for that?

All TP members should be charged with treason? What specific acts have they done? I'll refer you to US Constitution, Art. III, Sec. 3, CL.1.

After referencing the above, come back and be clear again.

  • @InvestigatorDave HEY! Is this you????? watch?v=kaU89q35yTM&feature=feedu

  • @Buhma Again for the benefit of others, here is what Buhma posted in my mssgs. Not clear if "reply" button confuses him, or what: "Maybe instead of referring me to the constitution you should direct Bachman to it. Let me rephrase....all Tea Party members and sympathisers may one day be taken out back and shot. America doesn't need you racist fucks anymore. Once the minorities realize they outnumber the caucs...maybe my prediction will come to pass."

  • @Buhma I couldn't help but notice that you did not (could not?) answer the questions I posed. I speculate that you could not, and futhermore that you cannot support your claim that I am a "racist".

If you figure out how to respond, and can do it with baseless claims, ad hom attacks, and vulgarity; I'd love to hear back from you. Up to the challenge?

  • This is why I'll vote a straight Democratic ticket in 2012.

  • The GOP really has gone off the fucking deep end. What the hell is wrong with these sociopaths?

  • @Inferno41 A mixture of religion and money-induced corruption, THAT is what is wrong with them. The only differences from one individual teabagger to the next is how much influence either category has had on them...those with more money do not *need* to have their brains vacu-sukd by the religiotardator quite so much ;)

  • What the fuck is wrong with that country?

  • who is going to pay for the funerals?

  • He makes an incredible point referencing President Obama and the "panic button"

  • Sanders - Grayson 2012

  • Yeah! Let him die! ME, ME, ME! Fuck everyone else! Oh wait...I'm dying? Someone halp me!!

    Selfish, conservative, empathetically deficient, psychopaths!

BTW, Grayson mentioned Blade Runner....man after my own heart.

  • @bb1televator Are you really using the word conservative as a pejorative? Come on now.

  • @bb1televator Its call personal responablity Ed fail to say is that he could have paid and planed for it like most Americans do and alot better than the goverment do you want the goverment to tell you to wipe your butt to.Well lets see Goverment just spent 9 BILLION in the Stimulus it created 3 million new jobs at a cost of $285000 per job and wants another 457000 billion and Moddies said it will create 1.9 million new jobs thats $230000 per job , This is why Grayson is gone !!!

  • @ekjohndeer "Most Americans" I know could use some help with their medical expenses. And Obama 9 billion? Good. the only problem is that he keeps handing out tax cuts and is reducing the income to pay for it.

  • @bb1televator Yes some people need help, everyone needs help at one point in there lives, but you have to teach people the difference between helping and dependice.

  • @ekjohndeer ...by letting them die. Sorry, your approach is reprehensibly immoral.

  • @bb1televator What ? Teaching to give when people need it and teaching people to take care for thereselfs .

I give and help my commuinity all my life and to have you write how reprehensibly and immoral I am you can go F yourself or do you want the goverment to do that for you to!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ekjohndeer Your care giving isn't a magically omnipresent construct. It requires a logical enforcer. What do we know to be capable of this? The government. The naivety/self delusion and amount of faith required in the your mode of thinking just isn't going to cut it in real life. Where were the "teachers" (as you proclaim to be) when the mortality rate of the elderly was significantly higher than it is today?

    Spare me your sanctimony.

  • @bb1televator Who is the psychopath:

Person A who gives to private charity to help the poor, sick, and destitute?

    or.

Person B who demands that the government TAKE money from all citizens by FORCE to help the poor, sick, and destitute?

  • @eagleeye1975 Person C, who wants to have the government to back off of him/her so that he/she can keep amassing all the wealth that he/she earned by cheating and stealing. Person A, who lets person C get away with it is negligent and enables/defends this criminality as an acceptable consequence... so person A is not much better.
