So a quick few questions about the controller specifically.
1. Can you explain the implementation of the controller in a bit more detail... i've been very curious about working with nintendo controllers.
1. It looks like ya put in yer own wiring seeing as that cord is white. Did you have to strip the board in the controllor completely and put in your own goodies, or did you have to bridge circuits to the board?
the nintendo controller needs a 9-pin cable (1 for each button, and one common ground. open it up, and check out the circuit board. you have to scratch up the board some to get the circuitry right, IE destroy any circuit paths that are in your way (there are several).
basically, the circuit board is usable but you must fix it to suit your purposes. it's not too hard.
Hey... do you know how to change the midi channels the sounds come out of the dd5 on? Or... can I use your patchbay idea to add another pad so I can use a bass drum pedal in addition to the 4 other pads?
hey, actually i haven't had much luck with the midi on the DD5 yet.
as for adding drums, *as far as i can tell* the circuitry is such that only 4 drums sounds can be played at once. i could definitely show you how to add a pedal that would allow them to be played with feet instead of hands (that's very simple actually), but it won't be a fifth drum unfortunately, just a second way to play the other 4.
also i can show you how to add a 10-step beat sequencer to this thing so you can program your own beats into it and not be stuck with factory presets! it's a bit complicated but i'd be happy to help you along.
Damn friend, very nice!
