I love spinach in everything, too - I add an equal amount of spinach to whatever I make (ie if I make lasagna with a pound of ground turkey, I'll use a pound of fresh spinach and wilt it - SO GOOD!). I even put my spinach in a blender with my chocolate protein shakes in the morning - seriously!! I use about 2 cups of spinach, 16 oz of coconut milk, and a scoop of Pure Protein chocolate protein - soooo good. You can't taste the spinach, but you can smell and see it, lol.

Do you ever try freezing certain fruits? I love doing that as a different healthy treat. The best fruit to eat frozen are grapes!!! YUMMY! They get slushy inside! (since you don't like ice cream)

Last March my doctor told me my cholesterol + stress levels were dangerous. I did my own thing (similar to your plan) and lost 46 lbs. from May til Dec., and also added belly dance lessons. @alicisa1 It took me about 3 months to loose the weight. You have to have patients and a drive or else it will all fail. I hope that you will continue your journey and loose as I will do the same. Main key is to eat right, drink lists of water and exercise.
Question: As far as when you workout, do you do your 2 hours all at once, or do you space them out? Also, with yor snacks, do you buy them as needed, or do you keep a supply? My problem is that I would over eat them or all at once. For example, if i get sugar free candy and there is 9 (small pieces) and it's 130 calories per serving of 3, i end up eating the whole bag at once and have 390 calories instead. What is your intake on that? Congrats on your success, you inspire me!!!
@alicisa i work out twice a day. so an hour in the morning and in the evening. i put the portions in sandwich bags. for some reason i am more aware of what im eating when i seperate it. portion control is not easy. so just keep trying, you will get it.
When it comes to snacks you should also consider prepacking your snacks for the day and placing the remaining snacks out of sight. You can also include the snack in your overall calorie intake for the day. This will allow you to indulge without feeling guilty
Sorry to comment again but, what do you do when you really want to eat when you're not hungry or you just want to eat when you're not hungry or when you really crave something? I'm having a lot of trouble with it the past week..
@poppx3 when i want to eat and i'm not hungry, i ask myself why? am i stressed, upset, anxious about something? then i leave the kitchen, go to my room, but on some music and dance or pick up a book...just my two cents =)
@poppx3 i will drink some water. if that still doesnt take away my cravings to want to eat something i grab a fruit. and if i still want to eat on something and not really hungry like the other person commented, i asked myself why and do i really need it. i could just be bored so i just go find something to do.
If you're looking for something for a sweet tooth, I have a great recipe I found for a chocolate pudding. 1 avocado, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, 1/4 cup of agave nector (I use raw honey instead), 1/4 cup almond milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Just mix together with a mixer. Very tasty. Raw honey is very good for you in moderation and avocados may have fat, but its good fats and I think it even boosts your metabolism. Anyway, congrats on your weight loss! :)
Thanks for the update and the practical information. My husband passed last year and I took care of him for about 6 years before dying and a lot of the weight I gained was stress and emotional related. After viewing your diary I was touched and am mentally ready to let go of the weight. it was really kind of a blanket for me plus I didn't think I could loss the weight but after see your journey I know I can do it!
Do you work or go to school or have kids? not trying to be nosy but wondering how you fit working out into your schedule. I have two jobs and am in school. thinking about quiting one job so I can work out more...
@longhairgetinthere i just work. i do not have any kids. during the holiday season i worked 2 jobs. a preschool teacher and my night job in retail. it was really hard but i still managed to lose weight. what i did was workout for a shorter period multiple times a day. i also did higher calorie buring exercises that was short and to the point like biggest loser dvds or the 30 day shred. take stairs instead of an elevator. i mainly made sure i ate healthy and stayed under my calorie goal
@bncooltina nothing specific. just pull them and you will feel it in your arms. the closer your hands are together the more tention you will feel. i dont know where the HRM came from. i got it for my birthday.

With the help from you, your motivation and self drive gave me the drive I needed to realize I can do it to! @tmcansah10 counting my calories was the first thing i did. bad or good food i made sure it wasnt over 1500 calories. then slowly i started to eat less cake and more fruit. i didnt try to do it all at once. took baby steps.

@datgirl40 no i worry about my calories. i count those. then my sodium. i try to stay under 2500 grams. last carbs i dont exceed 200 or whatever is recommended for me. everything else i dont dont worry so much about.

Excellent video and you really do look gorgeous, it's almost like you're glowing. And for those who struggle with pasta, even the whole wheat variety, try getting gluten free pasta. That pasta is made out of brown rice and I find that my body digests that much better. Whole wheat pasta for some reason still causes me to gain.
@teaundra ive carried most of my weight in my upper body...stomach, breast and arms. my breast are not as firm as they use to be. as far as my stomach i dont have any there yet because its still big. my arms were flabby when i started and they are less flabby. when i get to my goal i will know for sure. i had to realize that ive been big for a long time and i have stretched out my body so i will never have perfectly tight skin. as far as the rest of my body its toning fine.
Thanks for sharing your weight loss with us! I have a issue that maybe you or your viewers can help me out with. Everytime I try to start a weight loss journey, I get sick or basically disgusted because I have to eat so much food. I know it's crazy to say but it's true. I normally eat about one big meal (high calorie) and probably one snack a day. So, when it comes to eating 3 to 5 times a day I feel like I can't because I'm so full. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

try mixing your brown rice w/white rice... i do a mixture of 50/50 but try the ratio you like... just don't cook them together because white rice cooks way quicker than brown rice...
@neshnash32 yeah thats understandable. in my opinion if you change majority of the unhealthy things whats wrong with having some white rice from time to time. i learned that its not about depriving yourself or forcing yourself to eat healthy. just find healthier ways to eat it or use moderation.

@sawj50 im currently in a plateau myself. i think its just part of the process and your body adjusting. try changing up your food or add another 10-15 mins to your workout

@meme2118 ive messed up many times. we can not be hard on yourself. this is a journey and we are learning. we are human and make mistakes. dont quit just do a harder workout the next day. if you know you want to eat "bad food" try using portion control. when i go out to eat with my friends that what i do. i know its full with calories and sodium but still eat it. eating half still makes me full and i dont gain.

I love your videos!! I have watched you from the beginning till now. I have lost over 40lbs going from 275lbs to 225lbs. With the help from you, your motivation and self drive gave me the drive I needed to realize I can do it to! So I just want to thank you for showing that you can get to a healthy state without weight loss pills, surgery etc. Keep going! I will keep watching!

@laquahn29 Wow that's great. I weigh 276 and I was just curious, how long did it take you to lose the weight? I know everybody loses weight at different rates, but i am such an impatient person and if i don't see results in a certain amount of time, I get discouraged.

Lovely video!! I noticed you just got into eating breakfast...do eating breakfast really make a difference when trying to lose weight? I'm not a breakfast person, I'm thinking if I don't eat breakfast that less calories I'm taking in, besides I work third shift so I'm sleeping during breakfast time..=)

@tmcansah10 counting my calories was the first thing i did. bad or good food i made sure it wasnt over 1500 calories. then slowly i started to eat less cake and more fruit. i didnt try to do it all at once. took baby steps.

Excellent video and you really do look gorgeous, it's almost like you're glowing. And for those who struggle with pasta, even the whole wheat variety, try getting gluten free pasta. That pasta is made out of brown rice and I find that my body digests that much better. Whole wheat pasta for some reason still causes me to gain.

@teaundra ive carried most of my weight in my upper body...stomach, breast and arms. my breast are not as firm as they use to be. as far as my stomach i dont have any there yet because its still big. my arms were flabby when i started and they are less flabby. when i get to my goal i will know for sure. i had to realize that ive been big for a long time and i have stretched out my body so i will never have perfectly tight skin. as far as the rest of my body its toning fine.

Thanks for sharing your weight loss with us! I have a issue that maybe you or your viewers can help me out with. Everytime I try to start a weight loss journey, I get sick or basically disgusted because I have to eat so much food. I know it's crazy to say but it's true. I normally eat about one big meal (high calorie) and probably one snack a day. So, when it comes to eating 3 to 5 times a day I feel like I can't because I'm so full. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

try mixing your brown rice w/white rice... i do a mixture of 50/50 but try the ratio you like... just don't cook them together because white rice cooks way quicker than brown rice...

@meme2118 ive messed up many times. we can not be hard on yourself. this is a journey and we are learning. we are human and make mistakes. dont quit just do a harder workout the next day. if you know you want to eat "bad food" try using portion control. when i go out to eat with my friends that what i do. i know its full with calories and sodium but still eat it. eating half still makes me full and i dont gain.
