  • wow and wow very few startreck epi ever had close to this much action and yes the older shis are refits better shield systems then the older ones had to start and better systems all around remmber star fleet alwas make there ships to where they can be upgreaded but even that can only go so far you even see one of the old battle ship classes in there and they very rarey made battle ship at all like 90% of the ships they make are crusers and med and sci ships only about 10% are war true war ships

  • the Defiant kicked ass!

  • What is the name of the melody used in the video

  • @TheCoolplayer45 Requiemfor a Dream

  • Beautifully timed, would have been great for the series. 4.44 onwards is where it all just works

  • Ich habe diesen link seit über einem Jahr in meiner Favoriteniste.Und da bleibt die.ENDE and OUT !!!

  • Great Video!! The Defiant was a pretty cool ship!!

  • Love it in 5:25; Galaxy-class smackdown telling the Cardassians "From the F to the U!"

  • Best vid eva

  • Requiem for a Dream .... again

Look on the bright side guys, at least its not some generic rah rah metal song.

  • @atomikus37 Call to arms, 26th episode of the 5th season. :)

  • THAT MUSIC IS EVERYWHERE. IT CRAP, OKAY?

  • Thats one tough little ship LOL

  • Some of these episodes I've seen, but most of them I've not seen until this video.

  • The Odyssey Incident was very unfortunate.

  • I still believe the U.S.S Defiant is the greatest Federation ship to have ever served....

  • this song is everywhere. who wrote it?

  • DS9 would have fallen to this klingon fleet so quickly actually...

  • DS9 had some of the best space battle scenes ever, but I still cringe at the destruction of the USS Odyssey.

  • I have to say I prefer TNG to DS9, but DS9 does have some of the greatest Sci-fi action sequences.

    Nerds unite!

  • If species 8472 were here ... there would be no war....

  • @Zeemis Your galaxy will be purged. The weak shall perish.

  • @potrox420 Check out aliciebiade666's "Star Trek Tribute." It has more footage of Breen ships in it. One scene actually has the Defiant destroying one before being destroyed as well. Another good Dominion battle vid.

  • @potrox420 Yes. I am not talking of either Alpha ship. I know that both the Romulans and older Klingon ships have green plasma in their nacelles. However, they are completely symmetrical-meaning you can draw a line down the middle of each ship and one side would mirror the other. The Breen ships are jagged, and do not have this symmetry. I admit, there is very little footage that show the Breen vessels well in this here. I am including a video response that definately shows more Breen ships.

  • According to the DS9 technical manual some ships launched without shields instead opting for ablative armor.

Other times shields were useless against the Dominion weapons systems until A Call to Arms and after that they either failed to raise them or there was interference.

  • Rock on! 10X better than star wars. can someone please explain to me the different factions in there. who had the yellow/orange ships, why were there many scenes with the klingon fighting along side the federaton! and why was so much of the battles focused on that little cruser? better question: what series and episodes of star trek can I watch to see these battles?

  • @dizzleblackizzle The asymmetrical green-plasma ships with the blue deflectors are the Breen. The yellow/orange ships that look like shovels and trilobites are the Cardassians(not Kim Kardashian) and the ultra viloet plasma-engined blue and gray ships are the Jem-Hadar forces. These are clips from all the major battle sequences from the Star Trek Deep Space Nine series. That little cruiser, actually a tough little escort, is the Defiant. That ship was assigned to that station to protect it.

  • All those ships formed The Dominion fleet. The Cardassians were the traitors of the Alpha Quadrant. The Alpha forces were comprised of The Federation, Klingon, and Romulan starfleets. I am surprised that the Ferengi did not get involved.

  • I don't know.....but listning to "Lucerin Blue Monday in Vegas", and watching these clip, gives me shivers up the ole spinn!!

  • Nice vid...but why does EVERYONE uses "Requiem for a dream" for that kind of own created vids??

  • Excellent sound mixing! Best quality I've heard on a youtube vid for a long time!

  • Awesome battle scenes! I love how the music went with the battles, sometimes soft, sometimes dramatic. All great!

  • sweet. nice to see another trek battle fiend! nice work, check mine out when you can :)

  • In 4:34 upper left hand side of screen. Right between a K'Tinga and a Steamrunner is another Defiant-style ship.

  • Good video. Nice intensity capture. Poor singer needs an aspirin, or a laxative, but excellent score to put to one of my all-time favourite shows.

  • what was the other song that was put with requiem for a dream

  • @potrox420 lasers and phasers would not work either. And there would be no sound of explosions.

  • 3:00 Whats this, the Klingon flagship running away?

  • it's fun to watch the ds9 fights, but the station never seemed to take real physical damage. we see flames, but no pieces of structure ever blew off.

  • DS9 was prehaps the most heavily armed Space faring machiene in the entire series, it was never damaged enough because it kept obliterating eveything. The Dominion needed an entire fleet to overpower it.

  • That is very large battle for that many ships in the StarTrek universe.

  • that's season 5's finale

  • what ep is 4:26

  • Why requiem for a dream AGAIN!!!

    ruins the clips

  • Could have had an episode called Bringing In The Past. Where they bring back Cpt Kirk. This is an Epic performance by all. Makes me want to be there. This is an honourable death.

  • Size matters not

(for the Defiant vs. Klingon N'vgar"

  • @zachray263 In terms of actual numbers the Negh'var does out gun the defiant by a fair amount. But the defiant is so agile it can stay out of way of its huge disruptor canons (which took down ds9's shields) which evens the playing field. Funny to see the Klingon flagship run away though. Not very honorable.

  • Oh my gosh! awsome! can someone tell me what episodes are these from!

  • these episodes are from Star Trek : DS9.... The Dominion War begins at the end of Season 5 ..... i think episode 26("Call to arms").... and ends with the final episode in Season 7.

But there are many episodes about the dominion before the War begins..... read an episode-guide to Star Trek: DS9 ;)

  • Awesome video! I've always enjoyed Star Trek battles. It can get boring without it. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.

  • If Clint Mansell would get 1 dollar for every video used Lux Aeterna he had no Money Problems

DS9 Ships have shields, but their have problems to deal with Dominion Poloron Weapons, if I remeber right

  • They found a way to counter these and if you look at the battle, they took the shields off of every ship except the Defiant. More dramatic to see big explosions...and to keep the theme ship safe from danger : P

  • its probably easier to destroy ships as all the factons are in a state of war, therefore have put more effort into weopons, also TNG was before DS9 in the timeline so they had less advanced weopons, in VOY its hard to guage federation weopons with ones used in the species in the delta quadrant

  • ever notice how easy it is to kill a ship in ds9 rather than in the other series?

  • Also imagine how battles would be long if the ships had shields in Ds9...Sacrifice of Angels would last about 10 hours...lol

  • i wouldnt mind watching that, because it would look so cool. but yeah 10 hours is pushing it

  • If the ships had shields ,they could not fly so close to one another like in these battles, since the shields would collide...10 hours is pushing it lol, but it would take a while.

1254 Dominion/Cardassian ships vs +600 Federation ships and possibly a hundred or more klingon ships that arrive in mid battle.

  • Some have suggested we didn't see everything these ships went through. Also, in the early parts of the war the Poloron Beams used by the Dominion passed through the shields and the Aplha Quadrant Forces had to adapt their shields to deflect the Dominion weapons.

  • if you want me to watch more than 10 seconds of this pics some different music

  • Guess he dont cares if you watch it or not... at least I dont care. Music fits into it.

  • What is this guyz problem?? Lux Aeterna rules! The only thing wrong I could say would be that you wasted some action scenes on buildup music and vice/versa. A lot less than the voyager video!

  • Lux Aeterna is horribly overused, especially for battle compilations.

  • Its a great and very suitable piece of music but your right it is hugely over used

  • awesome video

  • great

  • awesome vid!

  • you know that was really good to watch. I really liked it keep more of those vids coming.

  • that was fucking intense

  • thanks

  • nice nice

  • they have them but having shields in teh cgi costs money , money paramount dont want to give to the ds9 production team.

  • i prefer DS9

  • i kno starfleet dont believe in battleships but i tink it would be handy to have a smaller fleet of defiant class battleships. u never kno whos gna invade the alpha quadrant next

  • apart from galaxy class starships, some of the starships in the battle scenes look pretty old fashioned to me, is that simply the preferred design of the latest ships or did do starfleet jus keep them in service, not anticipating the dominion war??

  • they're refits of the old shipclasses

  • ah refits, kul, anyway good vid, ds9 battles are the best

  • @jimboyxc1 Starfleet Command recommissioned many of the ships under new registrations. The producers didn't take the time out, or the money to design newer ones, other than the kitbashed ones(Centaur,Constellation) that were made from composites, and even they were scarce. However, what they did with them in these vid caps were good. I enjoyed watching this. Good music to pair up with a the struggles of war. Much better than the Barry White sensual music from another post.

  • @jimboyxc1 Sometimes when you fight a desperate ‘total’ war, you have to clean up and refit the old mothball fleet and send them into battle and hope for the best! Its True fact! I like that attention to detail in the video

  • @jimboyxc1 well you got to remmbe that all of there old ships get retro fitted once new tech comes out and if they can find a way to fit it so even if there older ship classes dos not mean there weak lol

  • Olisit voinu käyttää louvempaa musaa.

  • Excellent video mate. Welldone.

  • I luv this vid. It's amazeing. I'm a huge Trekie. The DS9 battles are the greatest battles in all Star Trek. Great job dude!

  • I'm glad you liked it!

  • @Hunterx174 long live the Trekkie
