If the Kings move to Southern California they will be third banana behind the Lakers and Clippers. The Kings franchise began in Rochester. Then they moved to Cincinnati, Kansas City/Omaha and Sacramento. Those were all smaller markets. But at least Sacramento supported the team when they were winning. Very few markets support losing NBA teams especially with high ticket prices in a weak economy.

I lived & breathed Kings basketball for close to 20 years...traveled all over the country to watch them play (and came very close to going to China). As of today we still have a team....and very soon we'll have a new arena as well. :-)
