  • Wow, what a reply. Must of hit a nerve for such vitriol. No I don't watch much tv because I have a life so I don't have the time to worry about some singer and if people like her or not.

  • such a lovely song it gives me chills .

  • what a NOSE.

bitch could fit ten illegal immigrant families up that fucker and help smuggle them over the border...EASILY.

oh, and all you sob bags whining about your 'papas', please...suck it up. what a bunch of babies.

  • @TripToYourSin89

obviously you never had a father...poor thing

  • @TheChrissssy

um...obviously i did. i just find it pathetic that you bitches are getting all mushy over some troll with a giant schnoz wailing about her fucking 'papa'. it's pure CHEESE. don't you have a lifetime movie of the week to be watching with your cats, cow?

  • oh my gosh i remember watching this movie in like 4th grade! loved it then and love it today! this was one of my favorite scenes from the movie. the candles in the dark and the song is so gorgeous!

  • I'm 12 years old and my dad died two days ago. This song expresses all of my feelings for me. I pray for my papa in the morning, during school, before I go to bed. I can't seem to fall asleep. I wish I could die right now and be with him. His funeral is in 4 weeks. I don't wanna go to school at all. It's scary how this song is explaining my life...

  • @zoombalaboy good bless you esther you make me cry i will pray for you loved father and for you honey

  • @zoombalaboy I'm truly sorry about that. Keep praying and don't wish anything like that. You'll get used to it, eventually. I'm sure your father would want you to live a happy life.

  • i heard this live.... like butter she was....LOVE her!

  • I'm a little mental for Yentl....

  • I love this song so much love and miss my dad so much 23/01:2011gone but not forgot xx

  • iguau glee (brasil)

  • I had no idea she could sing like this

  • omg this song is soooo beautiful

  • I just can't stop hearing it! And when I leave the computer this songs keeps playing on my mind, Barbra sounds like an angel singing!!

  • Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Ashley Tisdale, Britney Spears, Ke$ha, Madonna and Gaga toguether are nothing close to Barbra. Sorry if you feel offended, but you must admit it...

  • I just change the words to Momma :(

  • @plyrangelbaby omg sorry i must keep it papa cause my grandpa died but when i was little i called him papa

  • caramba so o unico brasileiro que ouve essa musica. seja como for a versao do glee é muito boa mas nao supera a original

  • It's sad that people just know about this awesome song because of Glee... Although thanks to glee, this generation is starting to love broadway, musicals and all time classics... But it just bothers me that people compare Glee to the greatness of these classics... These songs where way AWESOME years before Glee came out!!! There is just NO COMPARISON!

  • i had starting liking this song when i two cousins danced to this song in my family Christmas party. it's such a beautiful song.

  • chills everywhere

  • I prefer Yentl / Barbra Streisand / Anshel version than Glee version !

  • how cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a Streisand's fan. And Streisand's vid on youtube made me go to Lea Michele's vid. That's how I discovered Glee. I like it. But I wanna say to all people that say that Glee's covers are better than the originals: we always prefer the version we heard first! It's totally subjective. One thing that is not subjective : The original was created first. Lea Michele does a great job. But Streisand invented the all thing.

  • The problem isn't that Glee has recorded these amazing songs, the problem is with the people that think the Glee version is way better than the original and most of all, with people that don't even care about the original artist of the song and only about the Glee version. Personally I don't like Glee and for me they don't make good versions of anything.

I love Barbra Streisand and this movie is simply fantastic.

  • I loved the glee version. Everytime I listen to it, it never fails to bring me to tears

  • baba i want see you - baba where are u - baba i need you - baba i love u - baba baba iam alone untel now

  • @abdulrazzaq1961 Don't rape it thanks

  • Thank you, daddy, for giving me life, wish you would have been here, to see me grow up and have children of my own... Still miss you :'(

  • I agree with all everyone.... I think Glee has brought out a whole new style to "older musics" The originals are usually always better and I'm not saying that glee does this better because they don't but I think that they are doing a whole different perspective to the old musicals and making them more modern. I understand that some people HATE Glee but for someone like me who is a full time singer it gives me ideas for songs that I would like to do. No one can sing like Barbra !!!

  • When I sing along with this song it makes me feel that my late father can hear me and is still looking out for me

  • It's counterproductive to hate people who heard the music first because of Glee. It's opening up the newer generation to musical theatre. Would you all just rather it was some special club that only "the original fans" were allowed in? Just let all these older shows die out? It's publicity for good music and performance art, and it's positive. Deal with it.

  • @Mutilatrix I agree

  • All of you bashing Glee, why are you hating?

I was a musical theatre buff before Glee came out, coming from a thespian family, and I was skeptical at first, but then I saw how many younger people who watched it were getting into the theatre arts and becoming aware of all these amazing shows.

If you guys are going to be so damned puritanical about it and shun anybody who heard this music and started perpetuating it because of glee... It's like punk rock. It's not about who was here first.

  • @gleek419 really? Even I know that and I'm 13!

  • I love glee, but honestly I love this version much more than rachel's, I think this one has a little more sense. I think they writers just wanted to make as sure that rachel is an extraordinary fan of barbra...

  • fuck glee

  • @123456cephiro potty mouth

  • I always loved this soundtrack but having now lost both my parents, this song has more of a deeper meaning. It makes me cry everytime I hear it. Beautifully writtten and sung. My thanks to the poster.

  • @rando12 Having parents is the best!

  • that was a good movie

  • Lea Michele's voice is perfect but i prefer the original version

  • today's my father's birthday... but he's working abroad... he's with my mother in Siberia..... and it's so hard to live without them... I want to scream..."papa how I love you... how I need you... how I miss you kissing me good night....".... but still "papa can you hear me?"....

  • @chupaciupss Your lucky you have a mother and father!!!!

  • Fuck Glee, Will & Grace brought me here.

  • @buffy1445 who's will & grace??

  • @gleek419 God watch the movie!

  • So beautiful, gave me chills.

  • what a movie....touched many people who lost a parent

  • one of her best movies..so beautiful,,so moving,,thanks barbra...

  • i first heard this through glee... *shudders*

BUT it helped open it up to so many kids and teens and stuff

i much prefer the original, the glee one doesn't do it justice

  • Thumbs up if Glee brought you here !

  • i knew about this before it was cool!

  • One of my most favorite songs EVER!!!

    Love Barbra!

  • I just saw Yentl today and I fell in LOVE!!! I kinda wish that Avigdor came back for her though. But, Mandy Patinkin had A LOT of hair on his head in the 80's

  • Love everything Barbra does. I can relate to all of you who have lost fathers. I lost mine last month. They say time heals all wounds, but the loss of a loved one is not a wound, it's an amputation. No matter how long they are gone you still get fathom pains .

  • Lol I'm Yenlt xd ;D

  • This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. No matter who sings it, I get goosebumps and I almost cry every time.

  • @VEEFOURVENDETTA Feel your pain sister, lost mine last month

    \

  • @VEEFOURVENDETTA the same with me, even though it's my mother I lost, this song is just... heartbreaking, and so true.

  • @VEEFOURVENDETTA

    *BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW!!!!!!!*

  • @Pianist702 Hahaha! Yes, and I have, but it is just soooo beautiful! In my opinion, a good song should go on forever! But that's just my opinion. I'm actually writing a song that is really long. I know I will have to end it eventually.

  • this makes me want to be Jewish

  • does anyone know where you can watch this, I cant find it on here

  • I love it, but I think the Glee version is more beautiful. <3

  • @RosidaI Lea doesn't have the passion or the emotion needed when she sings this. In fact Jesse St. James even tells her this.

  • I'm sorry, I love Lea, but Barbra's ORIGINAL version is just amazing and just can't be topped :)

  • Amazing, but Lea Michele's is even more so.

  • thumbs up if glee returned you to this video :)

  • @Delaineythebug Yentl is a great movie!

  • Barbara Streisand brought me here!!! She has just the best voice ever!

  • how did that candle not blow out?

  • @Mitchelistoocool Thank you glee for brainwashing me. I don't even know why you're being rude about it, I'm just saying, for me, Glee showed me all these movies/musicals I had never known of. I wasn't insulting everyone who was older who's seen it without watching glee. I'm saying, that's how I found out about it.

  • @Epiphethes dido lol i tun my i pod all the way up when she comes on my shuffle... people don't seem to complain lol

  • How can anyone not like this? I get so emotional listening to this....She puts so much feeling into her singing. It comes from the heart. Maybe people don't have a heart.

  • Maravillosa, su voz, ella, y lo mejor es que aún sigue con las mismas fuerzas y con la misma belleza tan especial.

  • HAHAHAHHAHHAHA

  • What movie is this from?

  • @GraceApplePie Yentl

  • @GraceApplePie The movie is called Yentl

  • Great actress who sings great music, but i really dont like her voice...

  • @MrTaurus511 I kind of agree! She has so much emotion and it's powerful yet gentle at the same time, but It just doesn't sound as good to me as Lea, or Idina, etc. That's my opinion. :)

  • nelson was singing this on simpson :D

  • god bless the Best singer Ever Barbra Streisand!!!! #1

  • Gee, you need to spend more time at the videostore, those titles have been there forever.

  • This is so beautiful

  • Lol, I loved this movie, and this is a really deep and emotion filled song, but I die laughing everytime and I can't even tell you why. I use, "Papa.. Can you hear me?" whenever I can in conversations. That is all.

  • I think Barbra got deeper in the emotion that Leah but I LOVE BOTH!!!

  • i think that Lea Michele is better.........

  • @amazinggxx7 I like both, and they are both talented, but barbra is so much better at conveying the emotions this song spurs.

  • @manuelymotita you're so right, barbra made you feel she was feeling it.

  • I cannot keep my eyes away nor my ears... I am hooked on this song.. I saw the movie but it was already half way. I never knew this song was in this movie... the place I know this song is from "Will and Grace" when Jack sang it, on the episode where he was gonna meet his father..

  • Mmm am think of Glee is good... And the original versions... are Better ;D i respect all the version

    Philillie

  • love from WOOLART

  • They're not lost with time. In fact, those of us who loved them the first time around continue to replay and adore them over and over . . . forever. The best!

  • i think rachel is better... is that bad?

  • @betseyx2 Not really it's personal preference. i love both versions

  • I love this movie...Barbra has a beautiful voice.

  • Very emotional. Specially if you've lost a loved one

  • @Eztoez No kidding! Thankfully, I haven't lost my Dad yet, but you're right. I lost Mom, and even though I wasn't as close to her as I am to Dad, the world is a lot colder and scarier when anybody you love dies, whatever the cause of death might be.

  • I didn't say EVERYONE needed glee to know about the classics, I said I do. You can have whatever opinions you want, but to me, glee is good all around.

  • I loled

  • damn, i wanna sing like that!!!!!!!!!! <3

  • Haven't heard this in years. I love this song.

  • i found this while looking for a different song with a similar title.

  • I always adored this song and the emotion babs brings to it, so very moving!! i love singing it since my Father and i have a troubled relationship.

  • 52 people dislike? o.o

  • I likes of this movie and of the your soundtrack... Barbra is a nightingale and many cultued here in Brazil since of the 60´s.. Great nightingale of the north american music.

  • Not everyone listens to classics. For me i only knew about this from glee and now i love it. I don't see how being "28 and a guy" has anything to do with...well anything! But thanks for sharing something no one cares about.

  • great song

  • This song is so Brilliant and Emotional :'( It inspires me

  • PPA

  • People need Glee now to know about the classics? So Sad for your generation, and I'm only 28 and a dude!

  • Comment removed

  • @thanksalotman This generation is much more informed about the classics, than any other generation before them were aware about their classics. Thanks to postmodern pop culture and the internet these "kids" will never forget where these amazing songs came from

  • i dress like a goth , listen mostly to metal and blues and yet i am a proud Gleek . i thank my aunt for showing me this movie in the eighties . i simply LOVE great music and this is right up there . i am thankfull for Glee to remind the next generation what music should be and give credit to Barbra . if rachel hadn't done this song i would have been disappointed . now stop the hating a press replay
