  • The Dakotas were a Manchester beat group brought in by Epstein to back Billy and they did a very good job. Nice song thank you.

  • I'd never heard this track before....What a coincidence.....When bill left the we made records as 'Chick graham and the Coasters' and our first record was also called 'I know' written by gordon mills...he was a great songwriter but this was a Turkey..Tom Jones and Freddie and the dreamers also did it with the same result.....we told the record people that this would bomb but they wouldn't listen....we were 20 year olds and they thought they knew better....They didn't!

  • Good song. My first time hearing it and like it a lot. Thank you!

  • Amazing. Thanks so much for posting this great song by a great group. Haven't heard it decades. Used to have the single on Imperial records. It was the flip side of another great song, "I'll keep you Satisfied."

  • Man, these guys were tight, and such a clear, good quality recording! Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro)

  • Awesome!!!

  • Someone might say, if there is any real recording, I `ll kee you satisfied and I Don` t want to see you again recorded by the Beatles or never reached record??? I want to know that question, if there is any expert on the Beatles, I would like to answer me, thanks. Agustin from Argentina

  • @axpenderpi I don't think the Beatles ever recorded the songs you mentioned. Other people often covered them instead...Amazingly Paul M'cartney offered 'Yesterday' to Billy but he didn't like it....I'm not a Beatle expert but I was there in the 60's and played on the same bill as them 16 times (That I can remember)....from Liverpool

  • @tony00165 what band were you in? Any that we'd know of here in the states? Do you have any of your performances on youtube?

  • @68enxy I was the drummer in Billy Kramer and the coasters (Before Bill was put with the Dakotas and Lennon put the J in). There are no clips of me with Bill except for my hands and cymbals in the Cavern with Chick Graham and the Coasters (It's on youtube)The BBC cut the film down and I went with it...I still see Ronnie Ashton (Bill's brother) He lives by me in Crosby in North Liverpool....I missed out on the 'British Invasion 'of the US something I always regret....thanks for your interest.

  • @tony00165 I first saw the Beatles on Aintree Institute after their first Hamburg trip with Stu Sutcliffe and Pete Best...the best they ever sounded..unbelievable...We played a few times with Rory Storm when Ringo was the drummer...great guys!...Two guys in our group were nearly finishing their trade apprenticeships and couldn't turn pro when Epstein wanted...so he put Bill with the Dakotas and gave us the bullet...Bill lived by me and came to our house.I told him to take his chance..so he did!

  • @tony00165 The British Invasion music was thrilling for me, being a 14 year old boy at the time. Every week we were just blown away by what we were hearing on the AM radio and seeing on all the TV shows!

  • @tony00165 This is a good flip side

  • Another awesome song by Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas. Just love their magical British Invasion sound. They will always be on my mind.

  • One of my favourite songs of Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • More British Invasion gold. Thanks for posting this.
