Super true. Kilik and Mitsurugi are way over used. Partly because they are super easy to use and perfect there moves and combos, much like Liu Kang of Mortal Kombat is really easy to perfect.

I agree with Sweet Johnny Cage completely on his review. SC II was the best of the series, SC III sucked big time, but SC IV brings the series back to what made it awesome. Yoda is completely broken, Vader is well balanced, but the Apprentice feels overpowered to a certain extent. He should of also mentioned online play for the game. It works very well, but lag is an issue. Overall, great review.

If you also know (since you have it!) you should realize it's a FIGHTING GAME! And that is what counts, quality fighting and it is just that! A great fighting title. Not to mention "equipment stats" is a side mode and not the true version that is consistently played!

I'm not going to bother reading over tons of comments to see if this was mentioned, but you are wrong about a few things on the character creation. You can use them in versus mode, only their stats won't change. You can also use the custom stats in special versus.

I agree with your review, good job! I alway's thought Vader was better in this, because he sure as hell looks and plays awesome! The only problem I see with this game is the story and the fact that the AI is way too ridiculously cheap. They block everything you've got and knock your ass out of the stage whenever they get the chance.
It just comes down to which control pad you prefer for the genre. I have all the current gen consoles (and a couple previous gen ones), and, well...

Also ps3s power is not weak but yes overhyped. The cell is useless if they don't take full power of it. And the comment before i really dont think Gears 2 beats MGS4. They're close but... no. Also a PC can outshine any console cause you can upgrade it anytime you want. But Gears 2 really does look nice but i cant see it going over Killzone 2 or MGS4, guess ill have to wait and see when it releases.
I don't know about dmc4 and gtaIV better on 360. On the ps3 version of dmc4 the color is displayed better then 360 and me and my brother have the same TV he has the 360 version and i have the ps3 version. GTAIV on 360 ive heard of frame rate drops due to compression and if you take a game that built from the ground up on ps3 its gonna look better than 360's unless the developer takes their own time to port it. The Coding for ps3 compared to 360 are completely different
PS3 is perfectly fine, if the game is developed on it in the beginning. Take a long at games that begin development using a PS3, they look a lot better than other games using other systems as a mean of development.

Some multiplat look better on ps3 and some look better on 360.Also a big reason why 360 looks better on most multiplat because its so easy to code it on therefore its done on that system first then over to ps3. I have to disagree with the game series' speed. Most precisely, SC3's speed. It was fast, yes, but that made it also cooler. In SC2, combos were limited, and relied more on luck than skill (to a certain point). In Sc3, however, I had a lot of fun learning Yun-Seong by heart and pulling off 33[B]-214KK-9KKB whenever I feeled like my opponent could use 40% less Hp. Such combos required skill, and the combination of skill and speed was cool, but maybe a little unfair at times.

I've been playing Soul calibur came out on the dream cast. I don't get the point of people on the comments posting the the 360 is worse than ps3 or ps3 is worse than 360 I just don't get the point. SC4 is a great game for both systems and why can't people just leave it at that. SC4 has some problems that this guy doesn't metions...
1st- the stats on equipment are annoying if you don't know what i mean buy it and find out.
2nd-the story mode is like 5 stages long...(wtf)
3rd-all styles (beside the main characters) have been tooking out (no thief,assasin,samurai ect)
4th- they took out the conquest-map-fighting-mode-thingy which was awesome.
5th-it is to easy to unlock stuff and if you like to unlock stuff you will be dissapointed.

why does everyone say the games are dark on PS3, they look bright as balls on my screen. PS3 isnt shit considering mine hasnt broken the whole time i've had it. my friends 360 has been replaced twice!

Its dark because every game on PS3 is dim, don't even give me this bull shit about fixing that TV color or the display settings on PS3, GTA 4 on PS3 is dark and dim when the 360 GTA 4 is bright and has better graphics then the PS3 version, same with Assassins Creed Call of Cuty 4 etc, its because PS3 is shit

Ok i respect your opinion on the whole Yoda sucks thing but whenever i have played him over LIVE i have been able to beat him with a certain amount of ease. Kilik is the one who earns my anger. I do not doubt Vader rocks tho. I love Soul Calibur 4! =)

I'm not going to bother reading over tons of comments to see if this was mentioned, but you are wrong about a few things on the character creation. You can use them in versus mode, only their stats won't change. You can also use the custom stats in special versus.

I agree with your review, good job! I alway's thought Vader was better in this, because he sure as hell looks and plays awesome! The only problem I see with this game is the story and the fact that the AI is way too ridiculously cheap. They block everything you've got and knock your ass out of the stage whenever they get the chance.

Also ps3s power is not weak but yes overhyped. The cell is useless if they don't take full power of it. And the comment before i really dont think Gears 2 beats MGS4. They're close but... no. Also a PC can outshine any console cause you can upgrade it anytime you want. But Gears 2 really does look nice but i cant see it going over Killzone 2 or MGS4, guess ill have to wait and see when it releases.

I don't know about dmc4 and gtaIV better on 360. On the ps3 version of dmc4 the color is displayed better then 360 and me and my brother have the same TV he has the 360 version and i have the ps3 version. GTAIV on 360 ive heard of frame rate drops due to compression and if you take a game that built from the ground up on ps3 its gonna look better than 360's unless the developer takes their own time to port it. The Coding for ps3 compared to 360 are completely different

PS3 is perfectly fine, if the game is developed on it in the beginning. Take a long at games that begin development using a PS3, they look a lot better than other games using other systems as a mean of development.

Wait what? MGS4, a stealth based game sucks in lighting and texture yet it has some of the most amazing particle effects EVER? I own a 360, but you gotta know quality when you see it, so you should never diss MGS4 on graphics, ever.
Anyway, since SCIV keeps checking for downloadable content every time it starts it would be no suprise if they eventually release Yoda and Vader for the opposing consoles.
This Vader and Yoda thing is just hyping the dumbass fanboy crowds, so sad...

By the way, for having "heavily" played the game, you forgot to mention that Story, Tower of Souls, Special Versus and Online Special Versus use the Stat and Skill system from Character creation.

Ok ... in graphics.... MGS4 to... and Killzone 2 to.... ok.For gameplay Gears is a win but look at sonys first party developers titles,they code it better. Some multiplat look better on ps3 and some look better on 360.Also a big reason why 360 looks better on most multiplat because its so easy to code it on therefore its done on that system first then over to ps3. Its a nice game, enjoy it. Also yes ps3 is a bit overhyped and so is the 360. (ex. Xbox Live,Ps3 ex. The cell)

I have to disagree with the game series' speed. Most precisely, SC3's speed. It was fast, yes, but that made it also cooler. In SC2, combos were limited, and relied more on luck than skill (to a certain point). In Sc3, however, I had a lot of fun learning Yun-Seong by heart and pulling off 33[B]-214KK-9KKB whenever I feeled like my opponent could use 40% less Hp. Such combos required skill, and the combination of skill and speed was cool, but maybe a little unfair at times.

yoda is actually pretty balanced hes very quick but at the same time his attacks arent very strong and also his defense isnt that high so if your getting beat by yoda your can easily catch up with a few hits but other than that hes really fun probably the funnest character in the game and i havent had any problems with ppl winning all the time with yoda online theres alot of characters that can be anti yoda and beat him easily anyways his combos are amazing

thousands of people buy ratchet and clank and enjoy it, i am a great fan of it and i truely own both consoles, just going around blasting games is both immature and unsourced The way you do it. gears of war 2 is basicly going to be the same with a few tweaks to the enviornment, that said gears 1 was outstanding, but do you really think judging a game souly on how it looks is enough to decide if its good? a lot of ffvii fans and super mario fans would shun you.

I've been playing Soul calibur came out on the dream cast. I don't get the point of people on the comments posting the the 360 is worse than ps3 or ps3 is worse than 360 I just don't get the point. SC4 is a great game for both systems and why can't people just leave it at that. Darth vader is fun and yoda is fun so is the apprentice Namco/Bandai are doing everything they can to make the game interesting and exciting. Why can't people just realize that. Kudos to those who do.
