As for having this procedure done on infants, I think it would be easier but I'm not sure about actually making it an everyday thing. OTOH, better to do it as a tiny baby than as a 3 year old, & it's a lot more painful as an adult.

The full range of anesthetic is available to the adult, including post-op pain relief. Most adults are given general anesthesia for it; this is not feasible for newborns. Babies are more sensitive to pain than adults. Subjecting a baby, then clamping and cutting him is terrifying for him as well as excruciating.

An adult circumcision can't be directly compared to an infant circumcision because adults have at least 20 fewer years of drying, callousing, scarring and general wear. An adult penis after circumcision does not even look like an adult's member circumcised at birth.

I've got someone I think you should talk to. This has happened to his son. He wanted his son to be intact and they took the baby, did the circ and wouldn't let him see the kid until it was done. One video is about a mother who is suing the hospital for it, because not only did they circumcise her newborn son against her wishes but they did so while he was in the intensive care unit!

@jgraver2009 Actually, in this man's case the socalled doctor was obviously negligent. It is a botched job (not the only one). So the parents or the son can file a malpractice suit. However, it is a difficult situation because the fact that the operation was botched was not realised until years later. Circumcision is so common and treated with such triviality that doctors are often not well trained and it is even performed by inturns.

Sometimes circumcisions are performed against the explicit wishes of the parents not to have it done! Even when parents do consent they very often aren't given all the facts. Yes, if circumcision was a useful stragey against HIV infection, then Europe, which is well over 90% UNCIRCUMCISED (intact) would have an AIDs epidemic by now for not being circumcised. If smegma under the foreskin is considered a carcanogen, then what of the smegma that accumulates in the vagina? Female genitalia produces more smegma than the penis. Surely removing the clitoral hood and labia minora would be in every woman's best interests?

Children's foreskins are not meant to be retracted and often when parents forcibly try to clean their boy's glans they expose him to infection.

Your personal testimony does not void the thousands of testimonies I have read from men circumcised later in life who say they feel less sensation after the surgery, especially a few years afterwards. If daily rinsing practices are not observed, dead skin cells can accumulate along with this moisture which creates the flaky substance that everyone associates with a foreskin. For me to see a visible build up of smegma I would have to refrain from washing my penis for a couple of days, something I'm sure not even YOU do, even though you say you don't have to wash it at all.

You could try non-surgical foreskin restoration. Even if you don't want a whole foreskin, growing more skin will loosen it up and allow you to have comfortable erections. Shane i feel for you. Your parents only mistake was finding a doctor who did not know enough about circumcision to preform one on a baby. Had it been done correctly you would preform in a normal manner. Look into devices to stretch rhe foreskin to try to get some relief from the tightness of your circumcision. As for the shaft skin it can be shaved off for more comfort and to look like other men.
I am so sorry for Shane, for his suffering and desensitization, for what was taken from him without -his- consent. Every parent contemplating this barbaric

Any surgery regardless of simplicity, is not without risk. Speaking from experience, as for sensitivity, I can attest that there is no difference, NONE at all.
As for having this procedure done on infants, I think it would be easier but I'm not sure about actually making it an everyday thing. OTOH, better to do it as a tiny baby than as a 3 year old, & it's a lot more painful as an adult.

The full range of anesthetic is available to the adult, including post-op pain relief. Most adults are given general anesthesia for it; this is not feasible for newborns. Babies are more sensitive to pain than adults. Subjecting a baby, then clamping and cutting him is terrifying for him as well as excruciating.

@jgraver2009 Actually, in this man's case the socalled doctor was obviously negligent. It is a botched job (not the only one). So the parents or the son can file a malpractice suit. However, it is a difficult situation because the fact that the operation was botched was not realised until years later. Circumcision is so common and treated with such triviality that doctors are often not well trained and it is even performed by inturns.

Sometimes circumcisions are performed against the explicit wishes of the parents not to have it done! Even when parents do consent they very often aren't given all the facts. They are young and ignorant and just do whatever the doctor says.

As well as causing great amounts of pain.

Circumcised men can improve everything penis by restoring their foreskin by growing new skin through stretching the remnant. If Shane would have done this even to a degree of being comfortable when erect, he would have increased his sensitivity, be self empowered, but instead he ended up with mismatched body parts (no dartos muscle) and numb penis.

If smegma under the foreskin is considered a carcanogen, then what of the smegma that accumulates in the vagina? Female genitalia produces more smegma than the penis. Surely removing the clitoral hood and labia minora would be in every woman's best interests?

"No chance of balantitis, or phimosis" TRUE- but considering the fact that full phimosis (i.e. complete inability to even partially retract the foreskin) is rare and can usually be treated with a topical steroid creme, it is not a sufficient reason for RIC. Children's foreskins are not meant to be retracted and often when parents forcibly try to clean their boy's glans they expose him to infection.
The risks of a botched circumcision are greater than the risks posed by leaving it intact

Regardless of what precautions are taken, regardless of how sterile the equipment or how experienced the doctor is, you should not have the right to mutilate or remove a functioning part of a child's body without adequate medical evidence that it is necessary. The rate of penile cancer in the EU, where circumcision is not common practice, is even lower. In fact penile cancer rates have dropped considerably in Denmark where only about 1.6% of the male populace are circumcised.

There's plenty of studies that show that circumcision has NO NET medical benefit. You just "gravitiate" to the misreprentations given by pro-circumcision lobby groups, which have a financial, vested interest in exaggerating medical benefits.
No medical or paediatric society makes the claims of your fellow-circumcision activists. The permanent penile damage done by this unnatural surgery outweighs the alleged benefits.

The gliding action facilitated by the foreskin, stimulates the frenulum upon thrusting. A circumcised man does not have this sensation.
A foreskin will also help to maintain a woman's natural lubrication during sex, whereas a circumcised man will have to use lube during intercourse and masturbation.

Your personal testimony does not void the thousands of testimonies I have read from men circumcised later in life who say they feel less sensation after the surgery, especially a few years afterwards. Some see it as a plus to be able to last hours without having an orgasm, others find it frustrating and difficult to maintain an erection. In that instance they hold themselves accountable because they decided to be circumcised. But a man cut since birth can bear resentment towards his parents.

I know that if I were to retract my foreskin, pull up my pants and continue about my daily business, I would be crossing my legs from the discomfort caused by my glans rubbing against my boxers. Circumcised men walk around like that everyday with no noticable discomfort, so it stands to reason that their sensitivity HAS been dulled.

Smegma is a combination of natural lubrication created by the penis to facilitate smooth movement during intercourse. If daily rinsing practices are not observed, dead skin cells can accumulate along with this moisture which creates the flaky substance that everyone associates with a foreskin. For me to see a visible build up of smegma I would have to refrain from washing my penis for a couple of days, something I'm sure not even YOU do, even though you say you don't have to wash it at all.

You could try non-surgical foreskin restoration. Even if you don't want a whole foreskin, growing more skin will loosen it up and allow you to have comfortable erections. To achieve this I think takes only a few months. My heart goes out to all you guys--no one should have their genitals altered without their consent and full understanding!

Shane i feel for you. Your parents only mistake was finding a doctor who did not know enough about circumcision to preform one on a baby. Had it been done correctly you would preform in a normal manner. Look into devices to stretch rhe foreskin to try to get some relief from the tightness of your circumcision. As for the shaft skin it can be shaved off for more comfort and to look like other men.
