i live in kannapolis so i can say that jr is border line top 10 driver at best if you take out restrictor plate racing jr does not have many wins and thats how you rate drivers tony stewart has 33 wins but he has won on every track except 3

I bet this stupid bitch blames Brian Vickers for the wreck in this year's Daytona 500. Dale Jr. is so overrated, it's not even funny anymore. Yeah. he's a good restrictor plate driver. Some other drivers who fall into that category? Michael Waltrip, Jimmy Spencer, and Ken Schrader. People like Derrike Cope, Phil Parsons, and John Andretti have won at restrictor plate tracks. Being a good restrictor plate driver doesn't mean much.

Dale Jr. = Kyle Petty, in terms of talent compared to his dad.

That's funny, Dale Jr. couldn't even secure enough sponsorship to run his second Nationwide car for the full season this year. You can't call Casey Mears overrated, because I'm pretty sure most people would agree that he sucks. But I would agree that he's another driver who will never live up to his dad's legacy. On the other hand, Dale Jr. is the most popular driver in racing, yet he hasn't one more than one race in a season in FIVE YEARS. The guy is mediocre at best.

Well here is another laugh, Dale Jr does not drive his Nationwide cars or trust there would not be a problem finding sponcers if he did, also like I said 38 of 43 on any given sunday , only 5 other full time drivers in cup have more wins 3 of them older than Jr (more starts). I never said anything about HIM driving his Nationwide car (which he still does on occasion). The JR Motorsports #5 Nationwide car is only running 21 races this year, and it's because they couldn't secure sponsorship for the full season, which was a fairly big news story towards the end of last season if you would've been paying attention.

And get your facts straight, please. There are 7 current full-time Cup drivers with more career wins than Jr., not 5. Jeff Burton, Bobby Labonte, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, and Jimmie Johnson. Matt Kenseth is also tied with him. And there are a TON of drivers who have won more than 3 races since 2004, which is all Jr.'s managed to do.

Having 7 full-time active drivers ahead of you in career wins is far from "top level." Also, there are no less than TWELVE drivers with more wins than Jr. since the beginning of the 2005 season. How the hell is that anywhere close to being a top-tier driver? It's not like I have anything against Jr., I actually like him a lot more than Johnson or Edwards or either Busch. I certainly would have considered him one of the top drivers in the series...in 2004. But he's pretty much sucked since then.

jr has 18 cup wins including the daytona 500. hes finished in the top 5 in points 3 times and won 2 nationwide champs. if it was anyone else that would be considered a good career. but because he's sr's son he is expected to win every race. and no im not a jr fan.

Yeah he really knows his stuff. I remember when he used to go on ESPNs RPM tonight back in the 90s. He was on top of everything open wheel. he's the only reporter that knows whats going on in indy racing and he deserves more credit than they give him.
