  • Thats gross and cute at the same time

  • Sole survivor out of 30 eggs? Is it possible you did something wrong? LIke put them in water to hatch? Maybe they drowned in the egg... Maybe you should ask a vet or pet store for some advice... something went wrong!

  • @crazymike44 he isnt in water he is on dry land there is just a little bit of water on the edge they couldnt have drowned

  • @cairorox Oh... I just love turtles a lot... I have a tatoo of 3 turtles on my back... Momma and 2 babies following her... it's just sad that all the turtles except 1 died!

Next time don't hatch them in water... do it on dry land or sand, etc. Hope the turtle is ok now!

  • ur right they do drown the kids are supost to live on land

  • @crazymike44 yeah or hes just special

  • @crazymike44 Exactly! Red sliders do not lay eggs in water, they lay eggs in the ground unless their idiot owners don't give them access to land and then they are forced to hold their eggs for up to five years until they finally have to dump them wherever they can or risky dying. They certainly do not hatch in the water either. I'm very surprised this one survived and did not drown like the other 29 probably did. This is how it's done: Baby Turtle Hatchlings Being Dug Up Live: check this

  • @crazymike44 Well, we actually placed the eggs in moist soil as is usually recomended. When we saw this little guy trying to hatch, we gently moved him into another container (to film more easily) and poured in a little puddle of water to keep everything moist. So its not like we drowned him in gallons of water lol. It might be hard to see from the video but his head was well above the water line.

And yea I'm still not sure what happened to the other eggs, we were very careful with everything..

  • @Altair9292 I know, I'm sorry. I just got caught up in the moment! We all love baby turtles. They're so cute!

  • @Altair9292 HI altair9292 It's me, Mike again... i am sorry if I upset or hurt you... I am sure you are a good person... anyone who loves turtles is a good person in my book... if you want, I can delete my posting... Let me know... Ok... Have a great day... smiles :)

  • @Altair9292 yea the waters not deep at all in that bucket, i wonder y there were so many casualties? atleast u kno u didnt do anything wrong by putting them in that bucket, that looked fine (=

  • @crazymike44 maybe u should read about turtles u idiot

  • @forzaazzurri101 Well you are just a little meanie arne't you? hahaha... I raised turtles and they all hatched and were born healthy and normal... I never had them all die except one..... Maybe you should read about turtles you idiot... duh..

    P.s. Blah!

Dude, my posting is more than 11 months old... move on already sheesh...

  • @crazymike44 ur such a homosexual LOL

  • how old does your turtle have to be in order to lay eggs?

  • lol at the end

  • wonder pet!!! nice

  • aww its so adorable

  • if the mother were there would the baby be safe

  • in nature the mother turtle abandons her eggs after she lays them underground

  • is she really a red eared slider?? cause her ears aren't red.

  • There not ears there just like marks I think lol

  • red eared sliders dont have ears, at least not the ones your talking about

  • @Stealthtail101 do you see the greenish part sort like hulk colour slowly the red will come out

  • The egg was in the water all along?

  • dude thats so neat

  • I feel sorry for the other 29

  • how much can a female lay

  • what an awsome shell that turtle has

  • how long does it take for red eared sliders to hatch after their layed

  • @Nick444678

    60-90 days

  • Is he still alive as of today?

  • Halloa there! I think the reason why your other turtles didn't survive is because of your lack of an incubator. Turtle egges must be incubated at a temperature that ranges from 75-85 degrese. Lower temperatures usually hatch females, and higher temperatures hatch males. Thanks for reading this and good bye.

  • @jerryfinsternumber9 if this were true, then there would be now red ear sliders in the world other than ones that are hatched by incubators. Do you think the momma red ear sliders hop over to the pet store, buy an incubator, plug it in their electrical outlet near their pond condo, and then place the eggs in the incubator to hatch? They need no such thing and no such temperature to hatch, only nature.

  • @jwotawa Hello there Jwotawa! I read your comment, and now I will explain to you why wild Red Eared Sliders survive! Just like the people in this video, wild batches of turtle eggs sadly are only able to produce one to three turtles. (Mostly because they are eaten while hatching. That process can take up to three turtle-y hours!) And also turtles incubate there eggs by burying them. Thank you and good bye.

  • so cute

  • momma?

  • wow thats so cool

    check out my turtle vids

  • nyaaaaaaaaa :3

  • my red eared sldier doesn,t have red ears and yes it is a red eared slider not a paint i just don,t no why ? iv had him for like 3 weeks ? do you think he might not just have them

  • yeah they have eares but ear drums next to their eyes r visible

  • That's a yellow-eared slider, AKA a.. map turtle?

  • Do it have claws ?!

  • i thought red ear slider had red ears am i wrong?

  • well the dont realy have ears..like ppl ears.. the jut have a re stripe on their cheek..u will mainly see yellow markings tho until they get bigger

  • they do, I just think when they get older they grow it.

  • they call it red eared slider because it has red where humans ears are, i think they have an ear :P

  • ahhhh how cute

  • SHIT TAKE THAT TURTLE OUT . .

  • aw so cute!

  • didi u just leave the egg in the water and let it hatch there or do u take it out of the water

  • take out of water if it is in water the baby will die you have to wait 2-4 days for it to learn how to swim.

  • ok thanks

  • Turtles don't really need time to learn to swim, but the turtle will drown if it hatches in the water.

  • i cant tell if mine is a boy or girl can u help?

  • You can't tell until they are older

  • I guess you can only know after some time but try to find what kind of turtle you have and see how you can recognize males from females. I think that in most kinds of turtles you see it from the tail but I'm not sure.

    Like I said , try searching .

  • if it has long nails and a fat and long tail its prob a boy, if not it could be a girl

  • ya if it has short nails and small tail its a girl

  • cute!

  • i have a new turtle his name is pancake

  • hey guys, how can i tell if my red slider is female or male???
