Goosebumps! Inspirational! You have NO IDEA of the level of difficulty this performance requires - Adam makes it all look and sound so damned easy! The music itself is a joy... but when rendered by the hands of a genius, it becomes heaven! Totally AWESOME!
Might you tell Adam, " Eubie would have been so-very-proud! " ? I knew him in the late 70's, 1980/81. He performed, regularly @ the Theatre I worked @ . He occasioned the Maple Leaf Club in Santa Monica where he chatted-up some young friends & I. They exchanged x-mas cards for many years. Eubie played -very- flatfingered; no curl that I could ever detect. I'll always remember him for his (paraphrased) "Ya, jesus is ok; but this Piano playing job, pays more."
Adam Swanson added a lot of very interesting ad libs to this piece! And his playing is very raggy and exciting as usual! 5 stars!! And I bet that Eubie Blake would have loved this version of his piece!
I love it, he's not full of himself, he does a great job and a smile or two during the performance adds a lot. I'm glad to see this guy on here, this is great.
@jmkeller I don't think he's full of himself. I think he's young, exuberant and fully enjoying this wonderful music and his precious talent and that is what comes through when he smiles at the audience.
@jmkeller It only appears that way because he looks at the audience and smiles. I don't think he's full of himself. He's just expressing his enjoyment, &c. Everyone's different, just because he smiles doesn't mean he's 'full of himself'. Think you're misinterpreting, he is just relaxed as far as I can tell, comfortable after playing for quite a while I assume.

Great performance, but I've never seen a piano player appear so full of himself!
