Although 9/10 comments mention Anneke (and I agree with them) we have to give credit to Silje for this song. I think we just have to realize that this will be a new era, not necessarily a bad era for Gathering. And you have to agree that the song is really good, and she has a nice, distinctive voice.

The Gathering an Elis are two bands with female vocals that found good replacements for their departed (or sadly deceased, for Elis) singers.

Unlike other bands we know (Nightwish, Tristania, etc)...

Silje really does not disappoint. She sings wonderfully. And she is only replacing one of the best female singers in the world...

I'm with whoever said that, good as she is here, SIlje should be making more Octavia Sperati albums. Such a good band! That said, this is the first time I've cared about a new Gathering release in years, and I hope she helps draw the band back towards their heavy roots.

the band is still brilliant, the new songs are fantastic. when a band loses a singer so charismatic as Anneke, it's kind of hard to come back with a new one as good as the previous. The Gathering did it. Silje is a fantastic singer, great technique and very emotional too.

People should stop comparing Silje to Anneke. This is useless. Let's face the truth - Anneke is not in The Gathering anymore. And now TG started new age in their career - Silje age. And I'm very happy with that because she's an amazing singer and her voice perfectly fits in the music. And I still love Anneke and I think she's best female singer ever. That's really great that she has got great successor.

The problem is people can't accept change man. You're wasting your time trying to explain it, believe me, I've tried to. I love Anneke aswell, she was fantastic. I honestly thought no one could possibly replace her, but man the new vocalist is fantastic and people need to give credit where it's due! She did the unthinkable and replaced Anneke without ripping her off. She managed to make it her own, while still staying true to the classic Gathering formula. That deserves respect, in my opinion.

As a vocalist, I find I prefer Silje. I just love her tone so much more than Anneke's. Anneke is talented, but with Silje in the band now, I listen to them more. In the end, I find them to both be good. Honestly though, I think Silje should have been making more Octavia Sperati records. They're an ace metal band.
