I vaguely remember this movie hitting theaters and thinking it just seemed like another cutesy, talking animals, lame plot, children's flick, but today it was the only half decent sounding movie on TV and I gave it a try. SO surprised at how good it was! Original plot, great animation, and surprisingly funny, except for this part, I'm not sure why but these pigeons almost had me in tears. Something about the head movements (and eyes), and it being 3 am had me rewinding and watching repeatedly

This movies was on Encore (cable TV) a few days ago, in HD. I watched and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. In this scene, the jerky head movements of the pigeons as they speak is genius. I was smiling and laughing throughout the movie. At the end, John Lasseter (famous at Pixar) is credited as Executive Producer. He came (back) to Disney as part of the Pixar acquisition, and is now in charge of ALL Disney animation efforts. I think his presence has been felt at Disney.

A very simple explanation.

Styrofoam is Dow Chemical's trademarked name for Extruded Polystyrene foam. Even though it's commonly used in everyday language and often to refer to Polystyrene foam that isn't in fact made by Dow, they still get paid royalty fees every time it is used. It's similar to how Band-aid is often used even if it is referring to an adhesive bandage that was not produced by Johnson & Johnson

Disney simply did not want to pay royalties on a promotional clip like this.
