  • Very good movie, wish someone would post the soundtrack.

  • A good movie, very good performance by Bridges, anyone have the soundtrack?

  • I love this movie- watch it- prepare to see what can be truly great about American cinema

  • What amazed me about this movie was Jeff Bridges' performance. I hadn't seen him in a while and he was so right for this role. His easy command of himself, his presence, made him unmistakably the President. But then he has had this success many times before and never pushed his career toward being a leading man mega star afterwards. He has instead accepted challenging roles as varied as can be imagined.

  • @1915fas I totally agree, I don't think he got enough credit for his role.

  • §§§-RUFMORD-§§§ that is the German name of that great movie. On a German forum, sb started a game, that person named a movie and the other other users have been naming other movies starting with the letter the previously named movie ends. Sb wrote §-Excalibur-§, so I was seraching for a movie starting with an #-R-# "committing Rufmord" means: DESTROYING SBs REPUTATION, but WHAT IS THE ENGLISH WORD for RUFMORD????

  • If anyone finds the clip of when she gives her "Chapel Of Democracy" speech, please let me know. I saw one listed, but when I clicked on it I got the ole' "video no longer available" error.

  • Everyone stands at the end? Was Runyon the only member of the opposition party? Why are there no political movies about how DC really works instead of these 2-D stories with 2-D characters? For example, how the process destroys real leadership b/c politicians must compromise their principles before they can get the chance to lead? Also, the women equality issue is a bit out-dated. They should have had the V.P. candidate be gay; more cutting-edge.

  • It was made back in 2000. It wasnt only about gender. The movie was much deeper then that.. I mean, just the fact that she was an atheist I think is a big deal. I dont believe making the character gay would have been more "cutting edge" tt would've been more cookie cutter and possibly undercut part of the message that her sex life wasnt anyone's business. ( But perhaps I see this differently since Im gay, I dunno )..

  • I think now would be a perfect time for some of the networks to re-air this movie though. The character she plays is the type of person I'd want in the white house..

  • I think the atheism was an interesting detail to include and I liked what she said about that in her closing. However, that was also one of the aspects of the movie that didn't ring true. Right or wrong, the American people would be aghast to have an atheist as a V.P. and no Prez would nominate an atheist for the position. That's my main problem with the film; the Prez and his admin behave incredibly unrealistically throughout the entire story.

  • I agree. But, that's one of the reason's I also like the film - it was unrealistic. One can always dream. :)

  • As a woman, I disagree with Laine and her complaint about the whole "If I was a man this wouldn't be an issue, so it shouldn't be." stance. It continues to amaze me how stupid my gender can be. She's basically fighting for "gender equality" in a race to be a whore.

What she should really be fighting for is society to no longer accept promiscuity from men INSTEAD of lobbying for support of female promiscuity.

So much for fighting the great fight.

  • This movie is about allowing all immorality at the price of political correctness. Morality reflecs leadership. Those of you who are so infused with US politics are blind to the fact that you are a pawn to the elite.

  • Yes, it's so black and white isn't it? You're analysis thank God is of course not the only assessment of the true nature of things. Are you implying that the character Lane Hanson is an immoral person after all? The affadavit proved differently at the end of the film."This movie is about allowing all immorality at the price of political correctness." Perhaps you need to see the film again?

  • How apropos can one video possibly be at a time like this? In today's current state of affairs and half-politics, I wish more people were viewing this snipet and were redirected to what's really happening, no following the naked emperor (in new clothes - McCain is now buddies with 'W'??!!) nor the pied piper leading others to their demise in the pomp and circumstance of a catching tune (e.g., "Yes We Can" [scam] --- but no he hasn't accomplished one tenth of what I pretend to represent already])
