  • So why so thick a snare? What does having multiple ply's do to a snare's sound?

  • @Kotorious14 These unique snare drums compliment and expand on our standard 8-ply design. As the shell thickness increases, the drum becomes louder, with a slightly higher pitch, and has a more focused note (less ring and overtones). They accentuate the "crack" with an increase in power while maintaining warmth and sensitivity. Almost any thickness or ply configuration can be achieved. Available in 100% Maple, 100% Birch, and various combinations of both wood types.

  • I want a snare exactly like this but with a different outside design.

  • @GETILLapparel no problem, just call or email us with what you want.

  • Great sound...... I want one

  • Im thinking of buying a 50 ply shell and building my own. Would it sound different without the ports? the shell its self will be a 13x5.5

  • so sick

  • How big are those vents? And how much does this weigh?

  • @GloriaChiever The vents have a 1.75" opening and it weighs about 20 lbs.

  • @spaundrumstv goddamn 20 lbs holy fuck lol

  • @supercarl218 Vents add volume and brightness to the overall snare drum sound. You hear more of the snare side and notice increased sensitivity as the air escapes more quickly from the drum. Articulation is increased and "ghost notes" are louder in relation to full strokes compared to unvented snare drums. At the same time, vents will cause the drum to lose some body and resonance. Don't look to this style of drum for your fatback sound, but as a louder, more cutting snare it won't disappoint.

  • My Ouija board at home does not have that nice of a tone.

  • 40-fucking-ply?! damn it!! how much does your girl weigh?

  • sounds great...creeeeepy design.

  • 40 ply?! That's amazing.

  • HAHA those are some serious ghost notes... (sorry I had to)

  • great sound

what's with the text print on the side??

  • @FischyPirate Customer wanted graphics on the drum like a OUIJA board.

  • how many mm

  • @ajcf1995 approximately 28mm.

  • @spaundrumstv Is this the thickest snare you've made?

  • @iLoveAltNation Yes, but we can make it even thicker if you want.

  • Do ghosts come out of those big ass vents?

  • perfect, dry ass vine..

  • Great and warm sound. Are those die cast hoops?

  • @GiovanniAv Yes it has die cast hoops on it.

  • love the ouija board design hahahaha

  • are you using any muffling??

  • @pescalante2 Can't remember. If we do any muffling, its usually a single blue moongel square and it would be up at the top edge of the drum. Don't see it in the video so I don't think there was any muffling.

  • Sounds great and if i ever forget my alphabet, i can just look on the side of my snare!

  • How much and where could i get it?

  • @xxxnityninexxx you can contact us at info @ spaundrums. com for pricing and ordering info.

  • power of satan is in this snare drum wahahahahahah

  • would someone please buy me a seven piece Spaun drum set???

  • Brian if you dont mind me asking. Who does the miking of the drum set? I would love to get in contact with whom ever it is.

  • Im in love!:o

  • very unique

  • Subscribed to and loved.

  • Thunderous :)

  • how big are those vents? because if my estimate is right... then there's a crazy fibonacci sequence thing going on in this drum.... if the vent is 2 inches, and the reinforcement is 3 inches... then...

    2 (inch hole)

    3 (inch hole reinforcement)

5 (inch remainder of shell height)

    8 (inch total shell height)

    13 (inch diameter)

  • @rapscallion52 The hole is 1.75" and the outside diameter of the reinforced vent is 3.25".

  • Comment removed

  • @spaundrumstv awww... well... if you round to the nearest inch, then it still works

  • @spaundrumstv Although it is good that you are honest as a business person, it would have been way cooler if you would have lied for the benefit of us math nerds.

  • @rapscallion52 HAHAH! Fantastic!

I would be shitting my face out of my eyes right about now if your comment was right!

    Who says maths is boring!?

  • and what heads are on there?

  • @rapscallion52 Evans G2 coated on the batter side and 300 weight snare side.

  • what's that snare cost?

  • Comment removed

  • and furthermore, if I wanted to get the edgevent split - how big IS the split - on a 7" deep snare drum - which will help me figure out how to measure the 3 wraps to complete the snare. (The hemisphere on top, the one on bottom, and the design you will see on the wood INSIDE the split.)

  • @aribraeden We can't increase the plies on the Edgevent Split because of it's design. The split on a 7" deep would be around 3/4".

  • Is it possible to up the ply count to 16 if you want to order an Edgevent Split Snare?

  • This snare is something very very similiar to one that I had in mind that I want to order through you guys. You wouldnt happen to have a video with more of a metal style playing by any chance? I would love to hear it played with some blast beats and drum rolls

  • @Aretumis I'm sorry we don't have anymore video of this drum and it has been shipped.

  • can anyone tell me the model number of this

  • @ASKTHEBACKOFMY Just ask for the Ouija Board snare drum and we will know what you are talking about. We can change up the size and plies if you want as well. It doesn't have to be exactly the same.

  • again where can i get this and how much? haha
