@Kotorious14 These unique snare drums compliment and expand on our standard 8-ply design. As the shell thickness increases, the drum becomes louder, with a slightly higher pitch, and has a more focused note (less ring and overtones). They accentuate the "crack" with an increase in power while maintaining warmth and sensitivity. Almost any thickness or ply configuration can be achieved. Available in 100% Maple, 100% Birch, and various combinations of both wood types.
@supercarl218 Vents add volume and brightness to the overall snare drum sound. You hear more of the snare side and notice increased sensitivity as the air escapes more quickly from the drum. Articulation is increased and "ghost notes" are louder in relation to full strokes compared to unvented snare drums. At the same time, vents will cause the drum to lose some body and resonance. Don't look to this style of drum for your fatback sound, but as a louder, more cutting snare it won't disappoint.
@pescalante2 Can't remember. If we do any muffling, its usually a single blue moongel square and it would be up at the top edge of the drum. Don't see it in the video so I don't think there was any muffling.
how big are those vents? because if my estimate is right... then there's a crazy fibonacci sequence thing going on in this drum.... if the vent is 2 inches, and the reinforcement is 3 inches... then...
@spaundrumstv Although it is good that you are honest as a business person, it would have been way cooler if you would have lied for the benefit of us math nerds.
and furthermore, if I wanted to get the edgevent split - how big IS the split - on a 7" deep snare drum - which will help me figure out how to measure the 3 wraps to complete the snare. (The hemisphere on top, the one on bottom, and the design you will see on the wood INSIDE the split.)
This snare is something very very similiar to one that I had in mind that I want to order through you guys. You wouldnt happen to have a video with more of a metal style playing by any chance? I would love to hear it played with some blast beats and drum rolls
@ASKTHEBACKOFMY Just ask for the Ouija Board snare drum and we will know what you are talking about. We can change up the size and plies if you want as well. It doesn't have to be exactly the same.
So why so thick a snare? What does having multiple ply's do to a snare's sound?

2 (inch hole)
3 (inch hole reinforcement)
5 (inch remainder of shell height)
8 (inch total shell height)
13 (inch diameter)
rapscallion52 1 year ago 2
@rapscallion52 The hole is 1.75" and the outside diameter of the reinforced vent is 3.25".

aribraeden 1 year ago
@aribraeden We can't increase the plies on the Edgevent Split because of it's design. The split on a 7" deep would be around 3/4".

Is it possible to up the ply count to 16 if you want to order an Edgevent Split Snare?
