  • Heya, my name is Grace Barry and I played Mary Ann Byrne in Glenroe, and I just wanted to say that its great seeing this up here. Thanks.

  • Jaysus Grace - how old are you now?

  • i'm 19 now. Started on Glenroe when i was 6 weeks old and was in it till i was 11.... basically my whole childhood. ha

  • Ah you're still only a youngin! Fair play. Are you still involved in acting?

  • @SeanOBriain yep. I'm studying Drama now in DIT... so all those years of sitting at the kitchen table and looking into the distance paid off... ha

  • Haha, how bad :) Best of luck with it.

  • I would gladly have tarred & feathered the lot of them. I hated glenroe.

  • Biddy my nuts tighten every time I see you!!

  • Oh miley your hung like a horse!!!

  • shane kenny woz ere lovn svs(linny c)

  • does anyone remember the name of that aul priest that used to be in it, goin around annoyin people?

  • Fr. Deveraux. I wish Rte would show repeats of the early episodes of Glenroe or bring out a box set of the episodes during the 1980s to sell. Every other tv show had done that Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing. Why can't Glenroe do it. It would be a Christmas bestseller.

  • Miley the worlds greatest actor!!

  • Who turned up in the film "Alexander"!!! That must have gotten a big laugh at the Dublin premier!

  • G'wan Biddy get your jugs out!!!!!!!!

  • lol

  • i liked bracken too, actually at home we still say 'pat barry' if gabriel byrne is on tv in any film or anything. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly!!

  • 0:34 love it!

  • Ah yes, shades of the mid 1980's and the people in school would be talking about "the marriage".....great stuff. Filmed only down the road from us.

  • Takes me back to Sunday evenings..

Remember Miley & Fidelma in the barn..

  • I was left school at this stage! Enjoyed Glenroe it was great series.

  • Does anyone know where I could get my hands on any dvds or tapes of Bracken which came before Glenroe. Thanks in advance.

  • sorry wish i knew. If I find out I will post it here. Anne

  • was miley byrne in resident evil?

  • Miley Byrne was the randiest man in the country back then! Go on ya legend!

  • my childhood hahaha sunday nights the whole family sitting in to watch glenroe

  • Nothing worse than doing yourhomework on a Sunday night, being tired, then a shite episode of Glenroe to finish off Sunday night(if you were allowed up to watch it).If we're honest, we'll admit that it was mostly rubbish. Some good memories from it though.

  • Those of us who were fans of Glenroe will remember that there had been two versions of the theme tune. The later version, played on fiddle, was arranged by Maire Breathnach and the original (more synthesised) 1983 version by two former members of Horslips, Barry Devlin and Jim Lockhart. The tune itself is an Irish traditional air, 'Thuas ag Gort na mBlarnan', also known as 'Eiroidh Me Amarach' (I will Rise Tomorrow, literal translation).

  • well holy god, does any1 have the original music? the big country one with all the pipes n stuff

  • bath then glenroe then bed then school!!

i still get the glenroe feeling on a sunday night!

  • Oh I know what you mean. The Spellings would be tested after bath and before Glenroe all ready for school on the Monday morning. I'd be packing my school bag watching it...aww the memories

  • MY god....we only had a bath once a week and that was on Saturday...! I must of stank!!

  • i remember it well got to stay up late on sundays so we could watch it well holy god!

  • Ahhhhhh this reminds me of Sunday nights . . when the song at the end would start id get sent to bed! XD

  • Ha Ha Im a shamed to say the same:D

  • Biddy has long blonde hair now and it's a far cry from posing for Lever Brothers that she's at!!! Oh no no no that booty busting babe is elsewhere filthyfying behind the scenes of RTÉ

  • Does any1 know if its true they are making this into a hollywood blockbuster ? Im such a big fan and even have the ringtone. I had a huge crush on biddys ma, she was quite the dish and abit of a vixen. Pppuuurrrrrrrrr.

  • Glenroe should be brought out in box sets like they have with other tv shows

  • lmao omg i remember those days!! and miley is still on our feckin screens... hahaha

  • what was the name of the guy at 26 sec again

  • Did you mean the actor Joe Lynch - he played Dinny Byrne

  • cheers man,he was some legend

  • where did u get the theme from???

  • i'd like to see the bit where biddy gets killed driving into the wheel of a tractor! they repeat all sorts of shite on rte, why cant they repeat some classic glenroe!!!?

  • I remember that as well. It was funny as fuck. How can a car ramp the side of a tractor and the escort she was driving changed to an orion when it crashed

  • i thought i was the only one that noticed that! :) sure it is rte after all....

  • Not only is it the opening titles I'd love to see, but also the end credits.

  • i thought the biggest scandal was when biddy's sister cheated with blackie?

remember when ray the evil brother turned up and killed oliver?

  • We'd like the full version of the song, or at least the real opening credits from the programme. Miley sleeping with Phidelma wasn't that big a deal!

  • that was Biddy he was next to in the bed!!

Miley might not have been th handsomest but he sure pulls the babes in the stable. That Fidelma was something else

  • I live in Glenroe.

  • Ah Dinny go on...........

  • anyone remember the biggest evr irish television scandal??

when miley cheated on biddy with phidelma in the barn..

  • XD Omg, yeah!! Hilarious!!

  • check out Mario Rosenstock as Daft Dave it's hilarious Mario was the doctor in ~Glenroe but now does the Gift Grub comedy sketches for Today FM

  • Have ya got your homework done?

    I remember this shit...

Dinny, theres a hole in your trousers...

    Jays miles your right...

    Well Holy God...

    Theme tune....

  • Notapatch - I like that comment - It's funny! But... where the divil is your nostalgic sense. it may have been a bit wanting - but ahhhhhhh..... what blessed Sunday evenin' memories. HOLY GOD!
