Many people disliked The Wallflowers' "Breach" album. With "Sleepwalker," "Letters From The Wasteland" and "Some Flowers Bloom Dead," this album kicks butt! This album is almost comparable to "Bringing Down The Horse"!

Hard to figure out how the song and the video go together. Maybe I should watch again. Better yet, I'll just ask Jakob what the connection is, if any. Overall it's a great song, but the video just confuses things. There's a lot focus and closeups on Jakob, so it feels narcissistic to me.
It seems that record companies are sometimes too eager to hire someone who is the son of a famous muscian or songwriter. I am glad in this case they made the right choice. Jakob Dylan is an excellent song writer and this song may be the defining example of his ability to write great deep emotional lyrics and portray them in song as they should be portrayed.

@201172anastacio I am sad to say that the band had broken up. I know right I was really upset. But all good things come to an end and Jakob ( which is the correct spelling of his name) has a solo career. To him he said it wasnt about making a living music was something he just wanted to do. So you havent heard him main streaming for awhile. But check out his website. To get all the updates.
Does anyone else think it's brilliant how Jakob's silhouette looks like Bob's? And that at 2:33 the silhouette stands infront of his own face as it burns up? In other words (and since the song is about the folly of fame), it can feel like his father's fame eclipses his own? Just a thought.
We saw The Wallflowers a little after they released Bringing Down The Horse, and before the band came out, Jacob came out dressed in a black leather jacket and black hat and for almost a minute, the whole auditorium was silent... everyone thought it was Bob (guess he used to do that sometimes... just show up at random places without announcing it).
He does look like a younger Bob Dylan, though... especially in the 'movie' footage playing behind him in a few scenes towards the end.
This was my favorite band when I was younger. When I got older, I fell in love with Bob Dylan's music and he became my favorite singer. A couple months ago I found out they're related. It's weird.... I never would've guessed. Everything about their music seems different to me. I just happen to like a wide variety of music. The only thing that matters is that they both rock.
bob and jakob are both wonderful musicians.. still people talks about jakob as a person imitating his own father.. jakob creates wonderful music because it is in his blood, the same blood as bob dylan got.. thats why he's so talented...
@padmae Yeah, I noticed in a few interviews, he seems annoyed when people ask him about his father's influence of if he plays Bob's stuff live. It's like he's struggling to do his own thing. I am aware he has had a hard time getting his music accepted.

what's wrong w/ Vevo allowing us to listen to music that Record Companies were removing from youtube? What's wrong with allowing songwriters to get paid for their work? Getting paid = they don't have to do other jobs and can focus on their music.... and we can have more of it.

But all good things come to an end and Jakob ( which is the correct spelling of his name) has a solo career. To him he said it wasnt about making a living music was something he just wanted to do. So you havent heard him main streaming for awhile. But check out his website. To get all the updates.

Does anyone else think it's brilliant how Jakob's silhouette looks like Bob's? And that at 2:33 the silhouette stands infront of his own face as it burns up? In other words (and since the song is about the folly of fame), it can feel like his father's fame eclipses his own? Just a thought.

We saw The Wallflowers a little after they released Bringing Down The Horse, and before the band came out, Jacob came out dressed in a black leather jacket and black hat and for almost a minute, the whole auditorium was silent... everyone thought it was Bob (guess he used to do that sometimes... just show up at random places without announcing it).
He does look like a younger Bob Dylan, though... especially in the 'movie' footage playing behind him in a few scenes towards the end.

This was my favorite band when I was younger. When I got older, I fell in love with Bob Dylan's music and he became my favorite singer. A couple months ago I found out they're related. It's weird.... I never would've guessed. Everything about their music seems different to me. I just happen to like a wide variety of music. The only thing that matters is that they both rock.

bob and jakob are both wonderful musicians.. still people talks about jakob as a person imitating his own father.. jakob creates wonderful music because it is in his blood, the same blood as bob dylan got.. thats why he's so talented...

@padmae Yeah, I noticed in a few interviews, he seems annoyed when people ask him about his father's influence of if he plays Bob's stuff live. It's like he's struggling to do his own thing. I am aware he has had a hard time getting his music accepted.
