  • Count how many times Roger says 'you know'. Hahaha.

    He is so cute.

  • @FionaCullen7 I count 26 "You Know's"

  • It wasn't really a surprise, it's just like Sampras all over.

  • Roger is sickness and slump MONO etc

  • @mathieu350001 And is it a usual excuse when Nadal loses? Roger had actually become a slump from sickness influence. 2008. He was straight defeated by Stan. And, beginning of the old age of Roger's age in that year.

  • "Do you think that is some overconcentration that worked against you?" Stupidest question ever! No wonder Roger replied like that.

  • Roger is the classic greatest. Love Roger

  • Roger is the classic greatest. Love Roger

  • Roger was sickness in 2008 2009 (mono) And, 2010

  • Hahaha, look at the highest rated comment!!

  • i hope for rafa federer final at roland garros this year!!!!!!!! i want to see fed defend his title against rafa....

fed 2007 god mode vs rafa 2008 god mode

  • VAMOS!!!

  • cant find this match anywere, did he realy play that bad!? o_O

  • In this match Rafa played absolutely amazing!

  • against a sick and far older man, hum

  • yh he did..the match was hardly 2 hours and he lost 6-0 in 3rd set

  • is it bud collins asking the questions?

  • yes, bud asked the first two questions..

  • yes thats Bud alright.

  • "ill try again next year"

    REALLY! IT MIGHT HAVE SHOWED!

  • Svajcarska masina od 500 kubika!

  • well one year later he has the title and now can be ligit called the Greatest of his era

  • The only chance Federer has to win RG is if Nadal is injured.

  • No, Federer can beat Nadal. They are both extra class players, it's the matter of psychology!

  • Amir, tenias razon, Federer gano Roland Garros, felicitaciones. No se encontro con Nadal y sufrio mas de la cuenta, pero lo hizo.

  • agreed. now that nadal is at his lowest point of career with injuries, just like federer last year, interesting to see how he will bounce back after wimbledon. but i am with fed!

  • Roger dominated everyone he met all the way to the final, and without a doubt he's one of greatest clay court players ever.

Not only that but he had been training with expert clay coach Jose Higueras, a Spaniard who knows clay and knows Rafa just about better than anyone. He felt this was his best chance ever.

But even with all that, in the end Rafa destroyed him. That shows how GREAT Rafa is on clay. The greatest, no question.

  • Would love to see Rafa play Borg in his prime.. The game is just different, would give the edge to Rafa.

  • I would have to agree. Let's not forget that one of the first commentators to come out and say "Rafa is the best clay court player I've ever seen" was none other than John McEnroe, who has faced and therefore "seen" Borg in his prime many times.

  • Funny when he say's Rafa made it hard for me.... 1, 3, 0 does make it hard.

I'm a little older. What about Rafa playing Vilas in his prime?? Vilas was a complete animal.. Wooden racquet, tight Fila clothing, the whole shabang. I thnk Rafa is the new modern day Vilas..

  • Vilas was great, no doubt, and he played leftie like Rafa. But he "only" got 4 GS titles in all his carreer, while Rafa already has 6 GS, Olympic Gold and Davis Cup at 22 y/o. Vilas never won Wimbledon. You would think that as a clay court expert he would've won more than 1 Roland Garros. His longest streak on clay is 53 matches. Rafa's is 81. Still I think he's #3 on clay. Rafa is #1, Borg #2, Vilas #3, maybe Roger Federer #4

  • The Italian Open was big in those days. I think he probably won that a couple of times. How about Harold Soloman on clay

  • "I'm here to answer some questions, not to analyse the match."

What a stupid statement to make.

  • Fair point, he hasn't bothered to improve.

Though, given his 13 grand slams and 14 masters titles, it's probably a bit far to say he doesn't deserve respect...

  • lol its like saying I've come to talk tennis, not tennis.

  • 2:26 "The way Nadal's balls bounce...You dislike them..."

  • You're my idol Roger but please....Try to say "you know" less often!!!!!:-))))))

  • So petty..you should be ashamed of yourself!!

  • i like his shirt

  • what a weak pussy. spineless idiot ruined king rafas moment. if he does that again, i will shoot him in the face. cunt thinks he deseves to win everthing cos he so fucking special but no, he nothing but rafas bunny. i;m surprised he was able to get his fat ugly bird pregnant cos he is an impotent fool. i bet he does'nt have a penis.

  • I swear you've put hate messages on every video regarding Federer on YouTube.

  • Ha ha ha, your a loser. You come onto youtube and watch an interview with Roger Federer and then use disgusting words to denounce him. But i guess that makes you feel better about your worthless life. If your ever half the man Roger Federer is you'll be lucky. nothing wrong.

  • Next!

  • y dont u go ask ur mother whether he has a penis or not u fucking pathtic cunt...stop making idiotic statements about RF...u just fucking sore cuz u had 2 watch as he dominated world tennis nd ur idol nadal trailed in his shadow

  • i am confident roger will win 2 grandslam this year just dont know if it will be roland, wimbledon or us. but i know he will win 2 grand slam

  • I'll be surprised if he wins 1 GS this year! Not to be mean. he's a fantastic tennis player. It's just that the other guys have closed the gap, and are so onto him!

On the bright side, i think he has a couple more slams left in him.

  • He will win the French this year. I'm sure the best he has to offer is yet to come.

    Keep the faith.

  • Good luck with becoming a father roger. Hope you have more luck with that then you did trying to beat nadal. At leat this time you have mirka to hold your hand for you so try not to cry. ok. What a pathetic loser you have become. A carrer which will not been defined by what you won but how how you lost repeatedly to the greatest of all time rafael nadal and cried like a weak pussy. lol

  • Lol....Dude, what is wrong with you?!!!

  • Federer the best

  • Loool

  • @miguelucho20008 I'm glad you said this...

  • @miguelucho20008 brilliant comment

  • @miguelucho20008

    Indeed he did.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    Sorry coudnt help it.....

  • all roger got to do is serve better he can beat nadal

  • rafa played 'well'??? made it 'hard'???.... lets call a spade a spade....he kicked your ass.

  • LOL yea i'll say!

  • This was a hard loss for Roger but I know he is the same champion at heart, as YoSoyZuri said. Luckily he has moved on and will still tackle RG in the coming years. I think his attitude regarding this was very good, holding his head up high and paying much respect to Rafa, who deserved his win very much as well. That's why I love the two of them. Different players, different personalities but wonderfully warm and kind people.

  • i know tits nice to have wo great champions who have so much respect for each other. Too bad the fans can't do the same.

  • this was not nearly as bad as wimbledon. I nearly cried buckets at the end of that match, but you are right rafa and roger are heads above everyone else as players and people and I look foward to more matches with them. Hopefully this time fed wins.

  • lol he says, "look, clay court season is over"

That's right, clay court season sucks balls.. and the French Open is the only grand Slam still using clay. I think the French need to get with the times.

  • just because he wants to play another few years doesnt mean he will be capable of it, andrea agassi was a great athlete in his time period, Roger too is a great athlete, but with the times changing and younger players improving so much more, the competition wont allow federer to win many more slams. Rafa owns roland garros. He is a challenger on grass. Djokovic Murray and even the rest of the top 10 challenge hard courts, buy never count federer out with his record

  • People not longer look at GS only; the quality of a champion is demonstrated by his record. Today a champ that doesn't win on a surface (clay) has a handicap and that's why for Roger is so important to win the RG. Rafa has GS on clay and grass now he needs to win Australia or USO. But Masters are very important titles too (there're only 4 Grand Slams!! :)

  • Good interview; Roger answers very well! Rafa won the tournament and has improved a lot in everything -and Roger was the first to suspect. Roger has only lost the tournament, he remains the same champion. It's a lot harder for him now that Rafa has developed his tennis but that is not going to change what Roger has already achieved!!

  • Federer has a 50 percent chance of winning Rolland Garros by the end of his career.

  • 50%? No, impossible! Watch at the match again; the new improved Nadal is even better on clay now. Rogers has very litle chance. Rafa can loose only if he is in poor form -as we saw in Rome (when he lost due to blisters).

  • I still think he has a 50 percent chance of winning Rolland Garros before he retires

  • maybe if nadal gets hit by a car, other than that, hell no.

  • If roger plays his best, yes he will beat nadal.

  • And what has he been doing lately then? Look for no more excuses and reaility as it is. He's been outplayed three times in a row now.

  • Federer has a good chance of winning rolland garros this year,i don't need your stupid theories.

  • You better tell him. He needs to hear things like that.

  • Meh, i dont think so, unless he changes his tactics and makes adjustment. I think the confidence factor is crucial when rog is playing Nadal. I mean what happened in the 5th set of AO final?

  • I know, that's why i say it all depends on him.

  • I agree. He has a very good chance of beating Rafa at Roland Garros. Though I have always been a diehard Federer-head, I don't hold anything against Rafa. I think he's the best player now and deservedly holds his no. 1 ranking. He is a great champion and a wonderful human being.

However, Federer always has a very good chance of beating Nadal on any surface (yes, even clay) out of sheer potential, talent and experience. This year, Federer completes the grand slam. I feverently hope so.

  • Y the hell does he ask federer about the unforced errors?

  • That is one dumb journalist...

  • I agree!!

  • Yes Roger Federer lost this time. At least Maybe next time he would all the grand slams in 2009. Because after that i think he is going to decline in ablity.

  • I agree with your first sentence but not the second one.. I think Roger has good 4 years on his side wherein he can win atleast one slam each year.. I think he might well end up with 20 Slams.. He once told in an interview that he has the intension of playing till he reaches 35-36 age just like Agassi.

  • Roger is not going to decline! He simply has more competition and a rival that has developed into a No1 player, thats all!

  • At least, Federer was better than Brian Gottfried (see 1977 Roland Garros Final). Not so bad for Roger Federer, after all.

  • Federer got clowned! He got broken right out of the gate. Halwfway through, I thought he might whine, break a racket, grab his bag and run home. That sounds mean, but that's exactly what it looked and felt like. If you look at the second set, he tried every tactic in the book and still got burned. Funny, how cocky he was on the mic before the match, saying he had found holes in Rafa's game and was close to beating him. I guess he was just begging for some humble pie because that's all he got.

  • In my opinion Nadal just doesn't give up. We all know that Fed is the classy gifted guy, but Nadal is the guy who puts his heart on the court not just on every game, but on every point. About Nadal's game, he doesn't hit the ball any harder than the other guys on tour, but he can hit it one more time than the others, and usually the ball ends up on the other side of the net. As far as I am concerned, that is what tennis is about. If you don't like it, at least give credit to the new number 1.

  • He's the most gifted player that I've ever seen in my life. I've seen a lot of people play. I've seen the Lavers, I played against some of the great players-the Samprases, Beckers, Connors, Borgs, you name it. This guy could be the greatest of all time. That, to me, says it all. He's probably the greatest player that ever lived. He can beat half the guys with his eyes closed!

    John McEnroe

says it all.....Roger Federer is the greatest tennis player ever, he is not just a retriever.

  • fed was cryin in the end

  • this is got to be the most humiliating defeat federer eveer gone through. i mean he got bagled!!!!!!! i think everyone was cringing in the audience

  • Jimmy Connors said about Roger.

"[In the modern game], you're a clay court specialist, a grass court specialist or a hard court specialist ... or you're Roger Federer."

  • He lost to Canas and VOLANDRI in 2007, before any mention of mono. Stepanek, Simon, and Karlovic were all top 25 players when they beat Fed. Stepanek and Karlovic had given Fed tough matches prior to their victories. He has lost his aura. Players are no longer beaten before they step onto the court against him.

  • If the wins were on a year where Roger didnt have glandular fever I would have said yep they did it, but its just funny how the top seeds and nobodies have beaten him this year. That has got to tell you something. Makes it a pretty hollow win, if you can only beat him, not becuase you have got better but he got ill. Im sure Roger will come back all guns blazing. Nadal is at his peak now and still getting his ass spanked badly.

  • Whatever lets you sleep better a night. Grow up, dude.

  • You are talking nonsense......get a life.

  • So that's why fedrer lodd to nadal...because he doesn't like the way nadal's "balls" bounce.. lol

  • I've never realized how much he says "you know"!

  • nadl is the best!!!!!!!!

  • nadal is the best tennis player ever!!!!....wow federer talks way better english though

  • best player ever????? the guy only chases balls down..puh-lease..give me a break...

  • diehardFedfan: maybe not the best ever.. yet.. but even an idiot could see he does a lot more than chase the ball down.. its too bad your a Fed fan and not a TENNIS fan

  • I am very much a tennis fan and I maitain..nadal's game is entirely based on athletism....he's a counterpunhcer..his shots are good ..but often grinded out ..as for the greatest ever..tht title is reserved for Roger, for his style , his execution and his uncanny ability of making tennis look easy and smooth.

  • I was in Paris during Roland Garros 2008 and saw Dinara Safina playing

it was a great to be there and then saw Nadal beating Fed

    Paris is amazing!!

  • I thinks that Federer after losing his wimby crown is really pissed off and will return next year and kick ass.

  • Being pissed may not be a good attitude and could lead one to make errors, but i hear ya, i understand what you mean. One question though, how badly do you think Roger wanted to win Wimbledon this year?? I think he wanted it bad, he gave it his all and he lost. Roger's still awesome but he can't be dominant forever. I still think he's a genius although i'm an avid Nadal fan.

  • I think that Federer did want it pretty bad but the way Nadal has improved he has not, don't get me wrong The Fed is a genius but i thinks now Federer knows he can't do anything but improve if he wants to beat Nadal and he will improve he's still top dog. It's true Federer can't dominate forever but i think he's still got alot left and will do like Pete Sampras or at least i hope. I like Nadal he's very good but i've been a fan of The Fed right from the begining, he's a modest champion.

  • Even though just over half of their battles have come on clay (Nadal's surface), you have to wonder the cumulative effect of always losing to someone. Federer is now 6-12 against Nadal and lost to him in the last 2 GS finals in the worst way that one could lose to someone: a blowout and a gut-wrenching defeat. Great champions must be able to overcome the psychological challenges that come with playing their nemesis. Can Federer overcome the Nadal complex he has developed? I wonder.

  • Well both deserved to win Wimbledon last year and this year so it evened out ultimately. I

  • Roger lose this final because he played not very well the first 2 set!

But Nadal isn't the right one, another will arrive to take the Roger place.

Roger plays like a gentleman, calm and collected without the need to grunt like an animal!

ROGER FOR EVER IN MY HEART AND ALWAYS N°1!!!

  • no need 2 credit Nadal...

    Its all about FED.

FED didn't play well at the FO, FED didn't play well at wimbly,... if he was playin' against Geifjifjesiepzzza he would have lost 2 right????

    Well done!

BTW, he would have lost in straight set if it wasnt cuz of the rain

  • Yeah, the first rain break saved him. But the second rain break saved Nadal

  • That's what i say.

Rafa would have won in SS if there wasn't that rain delay :)

  • Greatest match ever. Nadal and Federer both battled to a draw and both made mistakes the other helped induce. I think Nadal will do better at the US Open this year but frankly I think he should focus on AO, FO and Wimby to try and amass his GS titles and save his knees. Nadal could win 8 FO, 4 Wimby and 3 AO by 27-28 and then call it a career and maybe one year he wins a US too. I do think today's loss will permanently scar Fed's psyche against Nadal as his comments after match suggested.

  • sorry dude. we still love you federer! just dont let that happen again. lol. dont lose that badly again

  • best player of all time FEDERER will have 2 do something special in 2008 final against nadal in wimbledon coz in semifinal one of ground strokes of NADAL was measured over 100 miles per hour.

As a tennis spectator it is a dream final of all time.

    May the best player win

  • Federer has beaten Nadal on clay and Nadal has never beaten Federer on grass. Not to take anything away from both players but Nadal is the greatest ever on clay and Federer is just the greatest! If it weren't for Nadal, Federer would have already won the grand slam.

  • July 07 Congrats Rafa on beating Federer in Wimbledon.

  • Federer-Nadal III coming Sunday to Wimbledon. I know there are a lot of Fed fans on here and I respect him as the great champion he is, but Nadal is a more complete player on grass through 4 matches I have seen Nadal and Federer play so far. Nadal reportedly was said to be crying in shower after Wimby final last year. He and Fed both know who should have won as Fed acknowledged he was lucky to win. Mallorcan bull wins in 4 sets and starts reign of dominance at Wimbledon.

  • i bet $1 million federer wins.

  • get ready to pay up, feds behind badly

  • damn i lost all my money! still man no matter who you rooted for that was the greatest tennis match of all time and couldve easily gone either way. props to nadal but rogers still #1 and hell win a few more wimbledons. best sports rivalry of all time

  • I agree wimbledon finals08 could of gone either way,it was a match that no one deserved to loose, but soo was last years wimbledon I think Rafa played better last years match , winners falling on his ass Held serve and broke Roger a few times, Roger just kept winning the tiebreakers like he did this year and thats because of his vicious serve it gets him alot of free points

  • you know what, last year is gone..and you cannot win a whole tournament like wimbledon on pure luck..federer was just being humble when he said he was lucky..but nothing against nadal...he'ss wim wimbledon sometime too.

  • To all Fed fans: take a deep breath! It's as if you go into shock when you hear the word "NADAL" Of course, Federer didn't win seven matches last year on luck. He won six on pure skill and beat Nadal in part on skill BUT also on luck. I don't think Fed has lost step; he's better than everyone on hardcourts but he is second to Nadal on clay and come this Sunday I sincerely believe he will be second to Nadal on grass. Mallorcan bull sees Red when he plays Fed.

  • Come on now Rob. How can you say Nadal is a more complete player on grass? He could win it tomorrow but let's not get carried away. Also, you can never say that one player deserved it more than the other. Whoever played better deserves to win it and Roger played it better last year. Hopefully he can do the same again but I won't be surprised at all if Nadal won on Sunday.

  • god he seems like a broken man

  • rafa rox!!!

  • I found Djokovics comment about Nadals blow-out of Federer at the French Open interesting. He stated it will take months for him to recover mentally because it had not happened in over 5 years. Federer has a tough Wimbledon draw. If he makes it to the semi's he most likly has to play Djokovic then Nadal in the finals.

  • federer has struggled with his health early in the year, but he is better in time for wimbledon, which he will win.

  • go roger win the sixth wibledon title.

  • federer" i'm not here to analyze the match, i'm here to answer questions..."

the interview is all about the interviewers asking the interviewee questions about the match and the future and such...Fed is gonna break sampras's record, but his stancetaken here is completely off lol.

  • In the 2008 race for the season ending championships French Open Champ Nadal is the current #1 with his five 2008 titles. Australian Open Champ Djokovic is #2 and Federer is #3.

  • Thank god for roland garros. All those power hitters that only serve and do nothing else cannot succeed here . To win roland garros, you need stamina mental strength and brains. Federer has yet to gain that.

  • dont talk if you dont know anything about tennis.

  • federer should put more power against nadal. that's the one solution.

  • haha, didnt like the way rafa's balls bounced? the loser. he needs to know what he's talking about. if roger had his cap off i bet we could've seen a glint of amusement in his eyes.

    but he's right. clay's over...

    over to Wimby now!!

  • the way nadals balls bounce, you dislike them? lmao!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's heartbreaking to watch. Poor Roger...he wasn't himself that day.

Oh well, it's grass season now, Roger has just won Halle, and onto Wimbledon! :D Roger is happy and playing again and that's all that matters at the moment.

  • One of Nadals greatest stats is his impressive winning edge over Roger Federer (11-6) and Djokovic(8-2). He has dominated the other two players in the big three. The way he withstood the Djokovic barrage in the Queens Club first set final today(djokovic was within one point of 4-0) and won the match with his mental toughness bodes well for his All England Club chances. Congrats to Nadal for winning his first grasscourt tournament.

  • Dude, Rog and Raf have played on gravel 10 times........ no wonder he's got a better record! On any other surface except for gravel, Rafa is down 5-2.

  • Chris. Hardcourts account for over 55% of all professional courts, clay is almost 40%. Grass at about 5% is a holdover from the Victorian era that reminds the British of their lost empire. It's a relic. Considering there are two hardcourt majors, Rolland Garros has become the most important major in tennis.

  • i don't agree that that makes it the most important slam but that's not the point I'm making. Players have favourite surfaces with various speeds. Nadal prefers the super slow stuff and federer the fast. i grew up on clay courts and there is not a heck of a difference between claycourt speeds ( not a significant one in anycase). There is however a huge differnce between indoor/ outdoor hardcourts/grass and carpet. What I'm saying is that It's only on clay that Rafa dominates Roger.

  • If you play Rafa you'll notice the difference because he uses 1000 more rpm on spin than Roger. It's not obvious on TV but his ball bounces very high on clay and Roger have to hit on his shoulder. Rafa could just vary his spin and change the explosion of the ball off the ground from the spin that makes you miss shots.

  • Chris. I see your point but Federer has dominated everybody in the last four year on other surfaces , not just Nadal. Take away clay and a 17 year old Nadal beating Federer on hardcourts to win the Canadian Open(2004) is mighty impressive. I checked the stats and all their matches were close . Nadal's 117-2 record on clay proves he is the best ever on that surface.7 titles on other surfaces proves he has an allcourt game.

  • nadal did not beat fed in canada in 2004. in fact, they have never played there. also, nadal won it in 2005 not 2004.

  • ihateuutube. I stand corrected. Nadal beat Federer on hardcourts in Miami 2004. and Dubui 2006.

  • Of course they played in Canada. Its called the Rogers Cup on of the oldest tournaments usually before the US Open held in Toronto/Montreal. every top men and women player plays this Masters Cup series. Do you even know anything about Tennis? The only time Nadal won the Rogers Cup (Canadian Masters) was when Roger sat out the tournament in 2005 I believe due to an injury.

  • That's because Rafa sucks the last half of the year. And Federer can't reach the Finals on the first half of the year not counting the AO.

  • shut up nadal plays good all round the year watch thiss yearr bludd

    u nadal hater shut uppp

    u critic

  • that's been true exactly one year (2007). we'll see about 2008.

  • the way Nadals balls bounce ahahaha

    listen to that interviewer hahaha

  • yeah, roger; we all KNOW... that you're the loser, and rafa the winner!

  • i dont know if roger is loser...but you are certainly one big LOSERRRRRRRRRR...and a jerk...coming back to roger..he's the best. One loss to his career full of wins and how he destroyed other players is nothing.

  • roger says so many times 'you know'. it's incredible
