The weakness in China's law - is that it refused on about 20 occasions to allow a psychiatrist to visit Shaikh.
Shaikh was homeless in Poland - 6 witnesses confirmed he was mentally ill - his condition had got worse or developed.

I am Chinese, but I have to say that Akmal Shaikh deserves the death penalty for 4kg of heroin that he brought into China that would have killed 26800 at least. The UK government and some of the British were wrong of saying that we did not respect human rights, otherwise we would have let him walk away with the crime that he committed. For instance we could easily built power stations on volcano's and the energy is clean and will last centuries.

Which is manic depression, which is not disabilitating, he was carrying 4 kilos of heroin!! if his 'mental illness' was that bad, why was he then allowed to travel to the middleeast by himself? The authorities simply 'refused to listen' due to the fact that prior to his arrest there were never any medical records of his 'disorder'. How many lives will be saved now that the drugs, he was carrying, won't make to the streets?

Perhaps do a little research before talking about mental conditions you ignoramus...It is a fact that there are varying different degress of ANY mental illness, extreme cases like this one where people often completely lose touch with reality, sometimes experiencing delusions of grandeur and fantastical beliefs about their own abilities. @nasratfatty what kind of evidence? he didn't even have previous medical record showing that he had been treated for mental illness. he was caught with 4kg heroin. his only chance to get a clemency was to claim having mental illness which failed to deceive the chinese authorities

I wholly agree but unless things change here regarding Drugs and Drugsmugglers and drug suppliers we will never see any different. There has to be heavier sentencing here for serious crimes, Justice is going forth crooked, but look who is running the ship, I rest my case your honour?
