  • Maybe the wires in the iMac speackers r loose

  • i got a issue my imac sounds like this dido or somthin if any one knows what to do please report back (=

  • I do not meet your issue. Sorry!

    Apple <3

  • iShotgun

    niiiice

  • it sounds like a shotgun lol

  • The problem is not related to H.264, but that seems to trigger it. This happened to me in HTML5 YouTube AND Garageband.

  • Dude, I don't even have ClickToFlash and this still happens. Ever since I enabled HTML5 this has been scaring the crap out of me.

  • Weird. I upgraded to Snow Leopard and suddenly ran into this problem (don't have ClickToFlash though.)

But this one doesn't even load for me. The frak?

  • This is a bug to do with videos encoded with h.264. Its not youtube, flash or click2flash problem. It is very scary and it happens only when playing video encoded in h.264. This happen to me on a divx player video also. The sound does not damage your computer since there are measures against that sort of thing. But its always unexpected and scary as hell.

  • I was starting to lean towards that idea, although I still wonder what kind of encoding settings people are using.

  • Yep, have had same thing happen to me twice now. It really freaked me (and my dog and wife) out, but it's good to know it's a problem with clicktoflash and not my computer. I've disabled H.264 videos for the moment.

  • Apparently it happens with a few videos that are encoded by the uploader in a certain way. I haven't been able to reproduce this since I posted this clip but I know of other videos that people mention.

  • I'm having the same problem I think... The sound it makes is a very loud high pitched sound similar to yours and it sometimes it wont ever play a video at all and just make that noise. You should report it to the developers. There page has a bug/problem report link where you can tell them about the bug.

  • That's a good idea but isn't it weird that it does that sound? At first I though that my soundboard could be damaged but now that you're also reporting the same issues, I guess I'm not alone on this one.

  • Yeah I know, I don't get whats causing it? Maybe it fails to load the H.264 video and makes that noise cause it has nothing to play? Idk, And it really hurts your ears when your wearing headphones and it makes that sound, Hopefully they will fix the problem. :]

  • that new screen recording feature is nice though

  • Yeah, it's a new built in feature inside QT X on Snow Leopard.

  • weird haha

  • I know. It's incredibly loud.
