  • I wanted to get my hair braided so I went to this African Braiding salon near my home. (It's been almost 10 years since i last had my hair braided) So I asked "how much is it going to cost?" (thinking in my head that it wont be more than $60, lol) when the lady said $160.00 I almost fainted!

Long story short, i went home, found this on youtube and for under $10 (cost of 2 packs marley braids) I got my braids!!

  • Thank you for your tutorial. I finally learned how to braid using your part one video. I have since put in about 4 sets of individuals in! I'm trying the kinky twists tonight. With your video, I know I can do it. This is coming from someone who can't cornrow very well yet :-)

  • WHen I get my hair done I hate when anyone starts a twist style by braiding first. So unprofessional.

  • @DreamBubble101 you can use this technique on any color hair you would like. turns out best with hair that has a wavy or curly or kinky texture

  • I really enjoy your videos. They help a lot. I used to wear braids or cornrows all the time and have always wanted to do my own. I have enough confidence in myself to believe I can especially after watching your video. Your instructions are very good. I'll let you know how my 1st time turns out. Thanks you very much!!!

  • Thank you so much for the tutorials. I've been looking for something like this for a long, long time. You've inspired me to order some hair (I want my braids down to my knees, though!) to finally do it, now that I don't have to pay a dresser $800 to do it for me.

  • i like it but one question after u deep it do u spray with spritz

I will try this for the first time......how long does it usually take you to finish???

  • I'm about to try putting these in my hair for the first time this weekend and I am so nervous, I'm afraid I'm gonna screw it up and it's gonna look terrible lol

  • So when you went natural, did you have a professional cut your hair or did you? And how long did it take you to learn how to braid your own hair?

  • what kind of hair did you use?

  • i really like your hair alot because its so naturel and i love that do you get boyfriends

  • Thank you so much for these videos! I live in a rural setting and I drive 8 hours to have my braids done. Ican't get anyone here to touch up my braids at home so I'm really thankful for your lessons!

  • How do you get to the back? Do you do it yourself or have someone do it for you?

  • your awsome

  • Funny enough, I am a white girl who can braid like hell. I love braiding my own hair and others but have yet to find someone to braid mine. I love your video. It was awesome. Please post more. You have answered questions I had. Thank you! You're beautiful!

  • @SisiSassy well you sound like a dumd ass too bicth

  • anyhows, check out this video. everything u c there is for those countries by their people.

right here on utube type: my love & pride the africa they never show you.

watch it if u care about your kenyan sired US presindent.

its time u aa not be scared of being called africans. its time u embrace you african roots and stop being abnoxious when people say u r from africa. tell them yes and tell them that u r here to take over so move on.

  • Comment removed

  • went 2 a black HS n finished in a white 1. blcks were stupid abnoxious n treated blck gals like crap. would only date white. i hate them. i went 2 white n when the most racist heard i was from kenya he introuduce me 2 his white racist friends who wanted 2 go out with me n treated my sista friends like crap. they said i was from africa and there4 excempt i hated them too. i hate all american men white or black. pure sh!t. go 2 europe, africa, n even asia n c how black women r treated. shocking

  • if there is a breed of trash men in the world is african american. those filthy bustard pimps need to die. they only date fat, ugly, rejected, trash white women and go on to show off. trash all of them. u aa women are beautiful and should dump those things u call men and open your harizon. white men r lusting over u and that african booty, but r scared u will reject them. remember they have enjoyed u for decades by force and now they can't use force any more. u don't need to date wm though.

  • Thank you sooo much for this tutorial. How many packs of hair would I need to do these kinky twists? I want to do mine for the New Year and this will be my first time braiding my own hair when adding extensions. I am going to try to do them over the holiday weekend. Can you show us how you do the back of your hair also? Thanks!!

  • @rajingbutterfli u might want to get three packs but it really depends on the size of your sections and how thick you hair is. I never did a vid on doing the back cause it is just about doing the same technique and practice practice

  • Comment removed

  • yes rasism. in africa the child always stays with the mom so he left the child with his mother. your kind of father is never recognized in america and u know that all because he is black.

  • Comment removed

  • knowhere is better in the world n there is no place on earth without problems. the un n american aid have done 0 for Kenya. those r all lies. again, u have to be there 2 c 4 ua self. u r getting feed rasist things again. we africans get nothing from Un or wester aids. we have have slums and ghettos coz we have refugees from somalia and ethiopia. a politically unstable place like kenya is a refugee for many. when whites tell u to go back where u come from, we will take u as refugees 2

  • i learned a lot of helpful tips watching your tutorials. You're a natural...and your natural seems to me like a reflection of an essencethat radiates both calm & delightful bouyancy. Shoutin ot to ya..keep twistin, rollin, dippin, braiding for us. Maybe you could research then teach us some of that ancestral yarn finish work...braid on ; >)

  • u seem like a nice person. well done for being good with natural hair. x

  • I really approve of your site> I am someone who is tryin out kinky twist for the first time. you made it look so easy. i wish you well in all your endeavors.

    Thanks!!!

    Black Sista

  • ua hair was great, but i will just brag. as a real kenyan, i am so proud of how we do hair. I can assure u that we kenyans do natural better than americans. we don't have perms so we r stuck with natural and braids and we r creative. we do damn good cornrows 2. kenyans rock at doing hair. but u have 2 go to kenya to experience it. anyhow, thanks for showing me. if i was in kenya i could get my hair done like every week. back home, almost every1 can do hair. we specialize in natural hair only!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • ofcourse black is black. what u trying to say? but kenyans and real black africans can do better that african americans. am just bragging about how good we are with black hair. we don't put glue on our hair. or perms. black women are beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • hey, am just bragging about how good we kenyans r. it took a kenyan dude to knock up a chick the right way so that the offspring would be the president. i know kenyans and they don't put glue, or perm on their hair. we specialize in what u call nappy hair. we call it just plain hair. and we don't burn our heads with chemicals, or put glue on our heads either. again, we kenyans and africans know how to do hair better than you african american.

  • Comment removed

  • Black American don't get treated equally around the world. Blacks in Africa do. they didn't grow up having white on tv n radio. Africans demanded respect for their color and hair long when they helped ship slaves. AA have done worse for blacks. They rap bad about black chicks. black stars n athletes marry white women. AA use perm n bleach cream to be like white women. AA r known for shaking booty. this is not true.a few AA ruined it for AA not africans. a kenyan sired a black US president.

  • deep racial tension in this country. no such thing exists in africa. i never knew u can be hated with such a hate n b treated so horrible for being black in this day n age. u blacks in american go through hell it self for being black. u did nothing for blacks around the world. example, chinese in america treat blacks bad, in africa its the opposite. n so do whites. u have to be in both places to c. 60% of US blacks have never been out of the country n they don't no how things work elsewhere.

  • First of all as an african american woman I am deeply proud of my heritage and the fact that my people have endured through centuries of hardship and racial prejudice; however your second sentence is wrong my sister. There has been deep racial tension in Africa since colonization. Have you heard of apartheid? Have you ever heard the word "kaffir"? IF you haven't allow me to enlighten you. Apartheid-The systematic segregation of black south africans caused by white south africans.

  • okay, and what is aa heritage? you aa don't like being called africans and never speak of africa. all u know about africa is that its a dark continent beause thats all you r feed by ua racist white media. infact, many don't know that africa is a continent. and u don't know of the vast white refugees migrating from south africa to europe, america, and ausi coz of that apartheid. u just hear of it from ua media and it favours as always the whites.

  • anyhow, it was nice talking to you. again am just bragging. we both agreed that africans can do hair better and that AA r not pimps and goldiggers who perm and glue their hair all the time. i was just bragging and being mean. i love being mean coz i can and am hiding behind a computer and you can't do anything to me. or anybody out there.

  • i stop no one from creating wealth. i hold no wealth in my hand nor do i control how wealth is distributed. whites man does that for you AA. go to africa, and despite what you get feed by your rasist media, there are more rich black persons than you could ever grasp.

  • Second the word "Kaffir" is a derogatory word derived from the Arabic language. It means infidel and is used to describe ever black south african. In schools white south african children were taught that blacks were only capable of being maids and gardeners. That they were beasts and were beneath them.

  • yes whites, those devils always had to teach their kids something, eh? makes u wonder, what do they still teach their kids now in america? lol, that they DISCOVERED america and it belongs to whites only. listen, whites r thieves and scams in street of SA as we speak. their jobs and houses are being taken by force by the zulus. again, they is a silent very hush hush huge migration of white from SA. i ain't from SA either. am from kenya, where YOUR 1st black president come from.

  • again, it took an african to sire your first black president. technically, because of rasism and growing up being called a nigger and put down all the time for being black, black americans would have taken years to even acomplish what obama did. by the way obama is an african name and so is baraka. his name is baraka but it was spelled wrong on his birth certificate and so he just went along with it. however, we africans can do hair way better than you black americans.

  • Comment removed

  • HIV rates for black americans r off the hook. poverty n literacy level for blacks in america among the world's worse. kenyans don't have white man handouts. his dad was part of his life 4 2 years. 2 years is wat was needed. he was troubled coz of rasism. coz of obama having an african daddy n not an african american daddy, he married a black sister. i don't look down on blacks coz whites do that. i will not join the devil man on looking down on blacks. however, black character here is shameful.

  • Thats GREAT! and it looks great on you too! But.......99 cents my foot for 12 rods in California!!!!!!!!!! Its more like 15.99 for 12. I dont know where you are. Thanks

  • Thanks again for the tips and tutorial. I'm doing my hair now. I'm doing my twists with something called afro twist braid. It is a really silky wavy/curly hair. Wanted a different look. • im trying to learn to do this, thanks! Your natural hair is pretty!

  • So, if you wrap it with a roller and put it in boiling water, will curl at the end as well as stay?

  • Yes, curl with a rod. But if your doing a clients hair be sure the steam doesnt reach their scalp and burn them. Use a towel and instruct them to hold it while you dip the hair.

  • nice.

  • i LOVE your natural hair! it's beautiful.
