Its because robotics is super expensive in the upper ends and only the military can splurge on projects that may never work. And only when we fight for survival do we spend those resources on aim for the clouds projects, like the a-bomb. And robots already replaced many humans if you havent noticed. If you can't get a non-robotic-like job, you better hope you have savings.
