  • thumbs up if you watched stand by me and wondered if this was a real song!!! P.S. STAND BY ME IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!

  • @klusshelby8991 I didn't wonder if it was a real song, because people, inclusive me, understands that it is ;) It's a great song! And Stans by me is the very best movie! I've seen it 13 times in a month! I never get tired of it :)

  • @klusshelby8991 I love This One good twister...for two...thanks guys ..

  • This is the U.K. release on M-G-M but it is the same master as the Cub issue in the United States. The difference is the British pressing; they always achieved much better sound than we in the U.S. managed to do at the time.

  • great song

  • Good song. Reminds me of Stand By Me.

  • @TJCATLOVER That reminds me of me and my boys. good movie

  • What about the Crest. I heard they were the first mix race group, they had hits a few years before the Impalas.

  • Del Vikings were Mixed Race.

  • i was 12 years old when this came out and in love for the first time. I used to run over to her house. good memories and great old song thanx.

  • Perfect Lindy song. Such great backup also. Super hit in NYC.

  • Wow ! This MGM one somehow sounds better than the CUB in sound somehow.

I can really dig that doo-wop kick beat just like I always wanted too. That spindle built into the 45rpm really holds the disc steady even though I see the grooves move along eruptingly. Amazing sound ! Thanks, Never ever listen to this one in stereo, THIS record is the actual way to listen and actually enjoy this great recording !

  • I've got this original MGM record & sleeve.Sandra Beckitt lent it me back in 1963,with her initials on it! I'ts great!! I met back up with her last year, after 47 years! 'Owza 'bout that then??

  • The lead singer made a mistake during one take and said " Oh Oh"

The producer liked it and told him to leave it in

Also I think this was the first mixed race US group?

  • Cool triv!

I think the Del Vikings were the first mixed race artists - at least their biog says so

  • Its also on the juke box in the Rose and Crown Tunbridge Wells with loads of other 50s' stuff

  • Great tune, it still gets aired now and again by Johnny Walker on good old Radio 2...

  • This record was released in the US on Cub Records, which was a division of MGM Records. The record on this video clip was the British version, which was released on the parent MGM label in the UK.
